Davit becomes the very first GLORY Lightweight Chamion, and he plans on holding on to his belt for a long time!

One of the greatest comebacks in the history of combat sports.
Hats off to Davit. He truly has the heart of a lion. People who have been in the ring know how difficult it is to make a come back to this extent. He was really battered, bruised and outclassed but his perseverance and grit saw him through.

I remember watching this live. I was so captured by the underdog comeback during the fight. I went from impartial in the first round to screaming at the tv by the fifth. And jumping for joy when he won. How happy Davit was when he got the belt has stuck with me to this day.
Round 5, Kiria did exactly what he should have done: go for broke. He knew he was gonna lose on points, and nothing less than a KO or TKO was gonna win him this fight, so he just took crazy chances and it paid off.

Glory is going to be up there with the UFC. Good strikers who have no ground game don't have to go to mma and hope they survive. Love this organization.
This was the biggest turnaround I have ever seen, Davit Kiria was taking one hell of a beating until the end of the final round. Up until then Kiria had been knocked or tripped to the canvas numerous times by Ristie, was on the back move and unwilling to attack as Ristie bored in with kicks and blows to the head. A left knee to the chin knocked a dazed Kiria to the canvas. Then suddenly, late in the last round, out of the blue, the much taller Ristie was knocked down by a blow to the head. He got up with only forty seconds left. Kiria threw everything at him, and he went down again, dazed and unable to continue. The referee stopped the fight in Kiria's favor.
Ken W. Simpson I didn't feel it was dramatic or sudden; Kiria continually found a home for his left hook counter either over Ristie's right or directly down onto his arm and wearing down his shoulder in the later rounds. The beginning of the end came as a result of the left hook to start the first technical knockdown, as well as the second knockdown which came from a cross counter over Ristie's left followed by another left hook over the top.
Ristie being the lankier fighter had much success with his combinations in the pocket, wherein Kiria stayed to have success landing his own shots. Kiria's conditioning must be phenomenal to weather all those body shots and still have the cardio to get off those high teeps and slip enough punches to land his counters.
This fight was very surprising and will serve as a continuing source of inspiration to shorter fighters whose options really are limited to overhands and straights in the pocket.

Kiria shows that he had the heart of a champion and deserves the belt, he shows what kickboxe is about: Heart. Nice to see a fight like that and I hope the next events could bring more fights like this one.

Stop Shitting around and being arrogant Davit was manhandled the whole fight but he stood and didn't give up and knocked the champ out by the way he was a lot more tired in the fifth than Andy so haters keep hating, but Georgian character does not let you give up until you die.

This was absolutely great fight. Respect to Andy as well, he is great fighter but I think he seemed too confidant in his victory in first couple rounds, that's why he lost all his energy in the begining. Davit showed that Georgian fighter spirit in this match, he took many kicks, but didn't give up. He deserved this victory and to be N1 in the world. Davit makes me and entire GEORGIA proud with this victory. Good luck to him!
