The prize money for these shows still really isn’t enough, especially in the other categories like classic physicue. The prize money should he at least triple
I think the situation was really precarious in the 60's and 70's. If I remembered it right prize money @olympia was 2k. And the other branches of the sport were very underdevelopt. I think the sponsorship deals play a huge deal to professional athletes in niche sports. As not only can it provide and income, but at the least, it reduces an expenditure and increase the chance of progressing their earning later, especially for those in the mid card of their sport. Not having to pay for kit or supplements, can be the difference between being to climb up the ranks, or being held in place through not being able to afford the equipment/dietary supplements that will help them push to the next level.

If they win the Arnold Classic, which is in Ohio, do they pay Ohio state taxes even if they live in a state with no state taxes?
It is based off the state you win in. Just like the lottery. If you get a ticket from Ohio and win something you can't cash it in Tennessee.
