Loved this one well done. The sound wasn't too good in the Caterham but I think you know that. Brilliant circuit Brands and yes I bet you had fun and enjoyed it. Would've been good if you could've spent a few minutes explaining how the Quaife gearbox works in comparison to a "normal" gearbox. But that's just me. Cheers, Dan
Yeah not happy. I test the mic at home and it seemed OK but it struggled in the car. I bought it just for this vid. Need more time playing with the settings 👍
Had the Quaife ATB installed in my Elise the gearbox sounded straight cut after- but it turned out the muppets that rebuilt the gearbox stuffed up and the box destroyed itself very soon after (bits of ballrace evenly distributed). It took a long time to save the money to get it rebuilt and thankfully no damage done to the ATB and I love it now and Elise no noisier than standard. I'm no racing driver but I love the grip and hook up when pulling out of tight T junctions.
The helmet audio in the Caterham was quite muffled, making it not so easy to hear clearly what you were saying. but a big difference in the Focus.Two very different but amazing cars. If i could drive only 10% as good as that test driver i would be very happy. ☺

No need to apologise as you said at the beginning it was a new system you were trying out, so just wanted to mention the difference between the two car's. As we heard the Focus was much better. Could it be that you were in an open top car compared to the focus?
GREAT Vid PP.....Ya Lucky Bas..d..... I love Brands Hatch.... My First race meet was there back in 84... So many stories... From taking out the Timing equipment when I drove my truck under the timing tower ( I was told to go that way).... Many FF 2000 races, with Donnelly and Brabham... F3000 when half the field was wiped out... Even flirted with Nichola Foulsten..So Close.... So Close...... And many more.... Details on request... lol.... :-)))
Yep yep and yep, sequential makes for a faster lap I'm sure. And as some have revealed below, I've had some bikes over the years, so sequential, and up-shifting clutchless, is no stranger!

Great video again. The 640r had great turn in capabilities,the test driver was on the power a lot early. Definitely took the ford R S first. Great fun watching 😅😅

Looks like a lot of fun. I nearly had 2 questions but when you showed the cutaway gearbox I could see that the gears are straight cut! The other question is what we’re the two digits to the left of the gear indicator in the Caterham?
I had a 20 min taster session on track the same day and was parked behind the quaife stand, lol. Was wondering what they were doing at a track day and now I know .
Would love to see what it would be like in Mini not gearbox just the diff had one in my civic,Need to get rid off wife and kids before could afford one these days ❤ love the content Pete
Oh mate the audio system is a mistake ! It takes away a massive amount of immersion for the viewer ! You need to druve and shout or just don't speak.. but the mic in helm is like a wooden easter egg mate ! Shame.
It was the first time I used it as I got it for this very video. Just need to work on the set up. Without a helmet mic in a car line that the only option is voice over which I’m not keen on 👎

For me it’s the first mod you should do before you add power 👍

Yep….the sound issues need an upgrade! I didn’t hear a lot of the Caterham drive. Peter will soon sort that out..😃😃😃

@PetrolPed it went very well and pushed my mini cooper s to its limit. They did wave the black and white flag, probably because of tyre squealing.
