Kingdom Come didn't die. It made its money back within two weeks, and sold over 2 million copies in a year. Warhorse also released 5 or 6 DLC packs for it.
I think he meant die in the sense that when it came out it was all the buzz for rpg and medieval game fans and TH-cam channels and such but the game was 1. Not a very casual gameplay experience and 2. was an absolute nightmare to play without the game shitting itself because of its bugs. So because of these issues and that learning curve, the game fell to the wayside.

I think that you being on-screen works well for these more free-form videos; maybe for a review or in-depth look at a single game it might detract, but I can't say for sure.

Yesss! Been hoping to see some more people talking about Solasta. It's a top 10 RPG for me. More than any other crpg it really felt like playing tabletop. Also their homebrew classes are way more fun and balanced than WotC dreams of.
I find this style of shooting very engaging and natural. I'd love to see this more in the future if you enjoyed making it. The alchemy of mixing the face and voice here gave me some Tim and Eric type vibes and that really tickled my tain- I mean, my fancy. Beautiful work.

I bought Kingdom come and loved it for hours, then after about the 12th time i got slaughtered by bandit groups i rage quit and never played it again.😭
If you haven't I REALLY recommend Kingdom Come: Deliverance on Hardcore mode. Having to occasionally navigate by sunrise/sunset and memorise paths in the woods adds massively to the immersion. My most recent playthrough was with all negative perks enabled (helps that mace and shield is OP).
What I love about the KCD is the authenticity. I mean you can just drive to those places (still didn't get round to driving to Rattay, but it's like 40 mins away). And it has the most authentic forests. I mean if I go to a forest now, it often really looks like what one sees in KCD. What I hated was that reviewers always screamed 'and what about a woman? You can't be a woman there and they are simplified to nothing'. And they didn't come back with a clarification or apology after Theresa's story DLC came round. It was the best DLC with the most immersive and realistic view of woman's life in middle ages without any SJW artificial crap.

when i played through solasta the fly and spider climb functions didnt work as they should but once i got improved invisibility and twin spelling it on my fighter and my paladin fights became a lot more trivial.

Look into the Kingdom Under Fire action/RTS series, primarily Crusaders and Heroes, those two came out on PC from being a xbox exclusive and even back they were really good criminally underrated classics to be sure.
Great video, should definetly continue to make more content with the camera if you're comfortable, I would personally say to include more footage of the game on the side as you are talking as I think it could keep viewers consitently gaged on gameplay/footage. Just the camera on its own somehow feels like its breaking the otherwise excelent pacing of the video
In Kingdom Come I played a complete lunatic who went into every battle completely smashed who once turned a stealth mission into like 30 dead guards on top of each other.
kingdom come deliverence doesnt have "instant fail" quests. its just that lots of quest in game can fail if you dont do them in certain amount of time after accepting them, to simulate that world isnt waiting for you to come and save them. if dude says to meet him someplace to save his sister from kidnappers,. and you dont show up for a week. guess what happens?

Neverwinter Nights is a genuinely great emulator of DND on PC. It's crazy the 1st game still has a vibrant multiplayer community.
Some the Persistent RP servers were the most fun/best community I've ever encountered online.

KCD, and specifically Theresa's story, is one of the most brilliantly written and emotionally impactful stories I've seen conveyed in any medium.

I have never seen your twitch streams... I usually hate face cams, they teplace the image in my head o who they are with a face that could never match up...

Edit: One thing that came to my mind when you mentioned "sight" as a mechanic in a game like Solasta are the "Silent Storm" games. Weird way of remembering them but sight was a very important aspect in those. Man, I miss those gems~

Understandable, personally do my best to avoid most news updates except for the ones that might directly affect myself or those I care about and make sure I'm not miss informed and comparing the updates to similar events in history to help give me some perspective on these difficult times as well as try to imagine if it harms other people so thanks for being so chill and making my algorithm feed a touch more enjoyable.

Look into the Kingdom Under Fire action/RTS series, primarily Crusaders and Heroes, those two came out on PC from being a xbox exclusive and even back they were really good criminally underrated classics to be sure.
Great video, should definetly continue to make more content with the camera if you're comfortable, I would personally say to include more footage of the game on the side as you are talking as I think it could keep viewers consitently gaged on gameplay/footage. Just the camera on its own somehow feels like its breaking the otherwise excelent pacing of the video
In Kingdom Come I played a complete lunatic who went into every battle completely smashed who once turned a stealth mission into like 30 dead guards on top of each other.

kingdom come deliverence doesnt have "instant fail" quests.
its just that lots of quest in game can fail if you dont do them in certain amount of time after accepting them, to simulate that world isnt waiting for you to come and save them.
if dude says to meet him someplace to save his sister from kidnappers,. and you dont show up for a week. guess what happens?

I and many others come to youtube/games to escape the politics. What is the point of this intro in relation to video games? Sure, I guess that little mention of people "cancelling" games for themselves based on developer views. But you basically just pushed a political agenda. You are presenting, the very thing you hate about what twitter is today. No longer is it just entertaining "cat videos", it's interlaced with propaganda. Even your own streams on twitch, which I usually stop by to watch. On multiple occasions you got heated about the "shot" for 20 minute, not even playing the game during this time. And I'm just sitting there, back from work and tired ready to relax. But you, and those certain individuals on twitter won't let me.
I'm not arguing for, or against anything you said about that certain topic. That's not the point. I still enjoy your content. I just don't think a youtube video about games that help us escape, is the right place to be doing it. I'm so sick of hearing about this stuff, from anyone. I get what you're saying but it's his content and he has the right to do whatever he wants with it. If you don't like it that's fine, but I don't think he should be restricted to only talking about video game. For many people who watched, me included, the intro really resonated and hit home because it's what a lot of us are experiencing currently. If you don't relate that's fine, but just because he predominantly doesn't do gaming videos doesn't mean he can't have an intro or make a comment on something else. The reason he said cool is because it's his content, if you disagree, that's fine, but it's his content and if he wants to say something political than it's fine.

This was fun. Besides Indies and Japanese games,I'm more excited for Alan Wake Remake, Crysis Trilogy (especially because I haven't play them, back then. Only Crysis 2 on PS3,lol) ,than new AAA games full of DRM and other sht. AA games look decent to me like Necromuda Hired Gun or Cernobylite.
