Yeah Simplex does have its “quirks” but that is why Simplex is so memorable. I love my school’s 4100u panel (even though i own a 4007es). I heard one time that they were gonna replace it and i tried to get the retired panel and whatever else they pulled off the system, but I didn’t get to have any parts although im just laughing at the fact they replaced the panel with ANOTHER 4100u. And this one is more quirky in the sense it literally finds a way to conjure troubles.
@@Roxxofoxxo its cool we have the same panel but mine is red. Also, i tried programming it with JCI Autocall software (which is basically identical to JCI Simplex software), but that programmer didn’t work so i need to get someone who has a simplex software to help reprogram. I’ve got a few sources that are helping me but it may take a while. I actually plan to post a video when i get it reprogrammed and mounted to a board and wired to some pulls and smokes.
@@achannelwithnopurpose1977 Good luck with programming! What firmware version is your panel? In order to upload to the panel the es panel programmer and firmware of the panel have to match.
I have a question for you. What is the best possible way to add an elk110 siren driver to a Vista 20p? Would it be OK to wire the trigger wire on the driver to the bell output on the vista and get a separate power supply for the driver power so as not to overdraw the Vista board? I'm just wondering because if it is set up the way I explained, if there is a power outage and the external power supply battery dies, the driver will be powered down. But if the Vista still has battery life and goes into alarm and applies power to the the elk110 trigger wire through the bell output, the driver won't be powered and may draw directly from the bell output which I don't want to happen. The driver also needs the auxiliary power to determine if bell output puts out temporal or steady to sound fire or burglar message. Would the driver or vista be damaged in this situation? I hope I explained that well enough. Thank you
I still think the old Simplex system at my dad's school is still better then The Silent Knight system they replace the old system with. FIGHT ME CLOUD.
0:33 Let me guess, that advance is either set on code-3 yet is pulsed to march time by the panel and/or only the horn is hooked up

You have a 4007es? Nice! Is it the IDNAC or hybrid?
@@Roxxofoxxo IDNAC variant
@@achannelwithnopurpose1977 Awesome! Same version that I have! I'm assuming you have the platinum version?

Here’s the thing. None of these are the fault of simplex as they are bad installs or troubles
Ya ik
I was just joking around and stuff

I don't know nothing about elks or vistas so I cannot answer this sorry
@@Roxxofoxxo dont worry about it. Thank you. I appreciate it
I live near a building with a 2001 panel that isn't powered at all, I saw multiple pull stations pulled and no alarms or indication on the panel lol.
Okay but the smoke in the 4100US is kinda a good idea for all larger panels
Nice job btw!
Oh thanks! And never knew that!
what voice message is that? also, do you know what version of this message NewAgeServerAlarm used in his system test 25?
I kinda forgot what message that is
I am not a simplex person
And I do not know which message newage used
@@Roxxofoxxo ok
thanks
i’m not a simplex guy either
this aged well
Oh yeah sorry I left a spare smoke detector inside the CPU bay
A completely sarcastic video
I really love the 4098-9792 smoke detector base with their ✨impossible to access the board✨ design
So reliable 😐👍🏻
