Its nice to see a steam engine on the main lines. And a soo line steam engine for that fact. I never seen soo line 1003 in person sadly but i know what it looks like from videos and sounds.. I wish to see 1003 some day in person
Thank you for documenting the coming and going of Soo Line #1003 for the Metra Employee Family Days. Your coverage of the moves of the engine and its train was great . I enjoyed watching the train as it traveled on the Metra Milwaukee District North Line and on the Wisconsin Southern tracks from Fox Lake, Illinois to Janesville, Wisconsin
Great catching the 2 F40C locomotives I sincerely hope Metra has plans to donate those engines to the Illinois railroad museum or at least one of them because I would rather see these engines be preserved than lost to the scrapters torch because that is what happened to the third engine which once was stored at one of the national Railway equipment facilities when they declared bankruptcy and they were closing their plants it was unfortunately lost to the scrappers torch I forget the number but I think my best guess correct me if I’m wrong was 610 if anyone knows the name of the mysterious third locomotive let me know
Where did you get the over head shot in Fontana from? I'll have to try that spot next time! Also I think that clip is in the wrong place--Fontana is after Zenda.
