4am and I’m watching another awesome DTC episode. I hope you realize how much we appreciate your show Tom. It’s like a family some of us don’t have. You guys are the best
As wonderful as these DTC videos are the very best part is the interaction and love we all witness between a father and son. Pure Gold folks. What a gift they both enjoy.
I really enjoy your unboxing videos. I just bought my first dagger a Nskk m7/37 Robert Klass. I have to say I have the bug and going to a show in mesa az soon can’t wait. Maybe see you at a show sometime. Keep the videos coming. Thank you
Another great vid .Thank-you Tom. Will sent a prayer to the man that has cancer..I know what he's going through..just dealing with mine,God Bless.Terry
Just found your site, I worked with Tom back in 1970's, now a retired Refrigeration Engineer from Hershey Chololate Co.I collect Indian Artifacts and live in Eastern Tennessee Plateau 👍
Hi Tom, I love your amazing videos. I've been learning so much. I was wondering if you ever have the time could you make a video explaining how you made this a full time job, ups and downs, and what a normal work week looks like for you. I think it'd be real interesting to hear a little about making a hobby into a profession and what it all includes. Never seen anyone else talk about it. Greetings from Mike from the Czech Republic!
I love the nice, warm and familiar atmosphere in these videos. You are really worth Oskar statuettes. And as always I wonder how can Tom remember so many details about every single edged weapon, medals and other militaria. To see his episodes is like to do a distant course. Thanks to you all! 😀
I just wanted to drop a line and say how much I enjoy your videos. Also how lucky you are to have a wonderful son to enjoy the hobby with you. You keep up the great work you do for our hobby. Many thanks.
Well these videos are so great to watch every minute of to me. Full of knowledge education and great items. That justice sword was over the top. I'm sure it has a new home in your collection. Thank you and Rob for the video. I love these.
Superb as ever, congratulations to you both. Really lovely to so how you both work so well together as father and son, colleagues, and friends who enjoy each other’s company! The officers RAD was very interesting to see, and you both do a fantastic job pulling back the layers of information. If I’d come across it at a show I’d have given it scant regard, but your joint critique was a lesson in looking beyond the assumed shortcomings and preconceptions. Best regards to you both, and thanks again!
Another fantastic unboxing. I'm not a flag collector but I can relate about the smell of an 80 to 100 year old items. Similar type of thing with WW1 and WW2 helmets. The liners have a certain smell, likely from the scalp oil ground in with dirt on the liner stored away for decades.
Hi Mr. Wittmann , i was enjoying your honor dagger video and you mentioned the SA book which is of special interest too me any word on when you will release it ? thanks very much your in friend ship Nick
Just an idea about the “lefty” Can you get a left handed person to try the “lefty” versus the usual one? Like hung from the belt, drawn & scabbarded just so we can imagine any potential benefits of having the strange set up. Lots of soldiers had terrible injuries so could this have been made following an amputation or something similar to suit the users new dexterity? Keep sipping - Steve 🏴 Wales
We had a conversation about this very idea! On a similar note you see personalized hanger riggings with SA daggers from time to time, despite them being against regulations. Life refuses to be cut and dried, it seems.
You’re a good man Mr. Whitman my father but with patent his third infantry. He was a half track driver. He brought back instead of German binoculars. And to pray bayonets with frogs they look brand new. He also brought back A Luftwaffe cap pin and a silver wound Metal
No we dont want you to cut yourself Mr Wittmann we love you and I love when you sip your drink and smoke your cigar I have been trying to find out where I can buy your cigars I think they are di Nobles I am not sure but dont change a thing God Bless from the Bay Area California
Like always, love your videos! On that japanese sword you have unboxed. These kind of shorter swords are called ‘wakizashi’. However i am sorry to say that the sword is a repro from china. It has ww2 gunto mounts on it but it is not original, the blade itself and the handle is also repro. That second japanese sword is a ‘shin gunto type 98 officer army sword’ This longer sword is a katana and it is a original piece! The same of the smith is on the tang of the blade. By the shape of the sword and the hamon line it is a showa era production around ww2 🤓 never touch the blade with your hands Congrats on the OSCAR 🏆🍺 !
If you hang em on the wall in the scabbard.. you can't see the the swaz.. I have a couple on the wall in the scabbard backwards.. I may be wrong.. I enjoy your videos Tom
The case with the Hitler document inside does have remnants of the eagle on the lid. Somebody has grounded the eagle off but its silhouette remains and is very clearly visible in the video so as you guys said it is probably an official AH portrait presentation case.
Thanks for another great history lesson Mr. W. I too discovered your vids when going through cancer treatment. The Oscars are awesome👍🏼 well deserved. No political speeches please😂😂😂 Sorry but the miniature naval dagger story is funny and painful at the same time. 🙂😫 LMAO
The box that the typed Hitler letter came in does appear to have once had a large political eagle and perhaps some other adornments on it, that were removed. You can sort of see the outline of these things, and what appears to be some glue residue, or damage from where the glue was peeled off.

Doomer, coomer, too based to live, too redpilled to die.
Hello? Based Department? I have a report to make.
The Japanese sword that u pulled out of box is a Chinese copy ,… the kanji on blade as such is the giveaway

This man must be protected at all costs! Thanks so much Tom!
I watch these at work while I'm completing mind-numbingly boring, repetitive task. I've learned a lot and enjoy your cigar smoking immensely.

I always considered myself a "Knife Nut". You have given new meaning Tom!
You Sir deserve a real Oscar for these videos...keep it up :)
My Man is back !!!!! :-)
Love the videos so much. Literally had me laughing out loud listening to your story.
Hi Mr. Wittmann , i was enjoying your honor dagger video and you mentioned the SA book which is of special interest too me any word on when you will release it ? thanks very much your in friend ship Nick
I’ll have money on it that you personally keep that justice official sword for your own collection Tom 🇬🇧
P.s Id kill for that letter very jealous
Just an idea about the “lefty”

I also have doubts about the 2nd Japanese sword,I would be interested in seeing the tang.
Its not a original one 😢
You’re a good man Mr. Whitman my father but with patent his third infantry. He was a half track driver. He brought back instead of German binoculars. And to pray bayonets with frogs they look brand new. He also brought back A Luftwaffe cap pin and a silver wound Metal
GET WELL SOON DEAN.

From Hitlers bunker to Wittmanns cellar. Think about that. Great video
Yeah I want that Justice official sword!!!!!
👍 Story Time with Tom 😊😮
Like always, love your videos!

Congrats on the OSCAR 🏆🍺 !
Just when you think you’ve seen it all 👍👍
Love the videos Tom! I gotta know, what kind of lighter do you use?!?!?
I've seen him with a Dunhill and a Cartier lighter, but I don't recall what he's using in this video.
The smell of the banner flags is probably from the dye they used.
If you hang em on the wall in the scabbard.. you can't see the the swaz.. I have a couple on the wall in the scabbard backwards.. I may be wrong.. I enjoy your videos Tom
Magnific colection...
Very Unusual RAD??? I wonder what the story was. I wouldn't change it.
The case with the Hitler document inside does have remnants of the eagle on the lid. Somebody has grounded the eagle off but its silhouette remains and is very clearly visible in the video so as you guys said it is probably an official AH portrait presentation case.
That smell on those flags are from a treatment they used for protecting flags getting wet and mould.
Thank you! This is a very interesting fact.
Thanks for another great history lesson Mr. W. I too discovered your vids when going through cancer treatment. The Oscars are awesome👍🏼 well deserved. No political speeches please😂😂😂 Sorry but the miniature naval dagger story is funny and painful at the same time. 🙂😫 LMAO

Привет из Израиля, всегда смотрю ваши обзоры Сэр
A shop vac makes quick work of those packing peanuts
Beautiful beautiful award just don't go smack anybody around LOL
My theory on the flags is the smell is derived from the red dye.
I have an rad that is backwards just like that also no makers mark.
Tom, you will always be a member of the Academy, even if Rob deserves a good slapping! Mike drop.....
Can you do a Will Smith and slap a fake dagger!!
Justice Official…..not Prison!
I think he does go on to correct himself.
He does…my apologies for jumping the gun….or sword in this case!
Great award ceremony…nobody got slapped! 😂
Is it irony when he opens a box with a knife to get a knife?
Knife mania 😃
✋️👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Never touch a samurai blade with your hands.
The Japanese sword imho is a Chinese copy
Thank you for making the comment,,, but what part makes you sure it’s Chinese???
Are you talking about the short Shin Gunto ?????
@@luckybait Im taking about the wacatashi
@@luckybait The kanji on the blade is a big red flag,
Both of the Japanese swords are unfortunately bad chinese fakes, total crap.
As wonderful as these DTC videos are the very best part is the interaction and love we all witness between a father and son. Pure Gold folks. What a gift they both enjoy.
Part of the reason these videos have never had a script and only the most barebones editing was to keep that interaction intact.
