Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 This song belongs to latest album The Other One but it wasn't part of the 5 singles released, although it becomes one of fans favorite from this album real fast. The nasty riffs reminds to "Ice Nine Kills - Rainy Day". Maya in Hindu myth is the representation of illusion (which is the theme in this song), so that's the reference. Here's some official info: MAYA (ILLUSION) _Reality is an illusion. The truth may be a deception._ _It is a feeling as if you wandered in between the Real World and the Virtual World. It may be magic, or it may be an illusion._ The Western Kami Band playing this live at PIA Arena MM (April 1st) gives some aggressive flavor that i really like and with MomoMetal now officially as a new member, just so you know this was performed during Black Night (that's why they're wearing the old battle dress from Metal Galaxy era and she ain't got a mic), at the end of this night she was announced as MomoMetal, the night after this (Clear Night) they're wearing the new costume you can see at Mirror Mirror, METALIZM official MV and more recently Divine Attack - Shingeki live version. They've been rotating this song along with Mirror Mirror and Believing during The World Tour 2023/2024, they didn't play at recent Asian Tour and i don't think they will at Knotfest but OTFGK. Valeu cara, kitsune up and see you next time 🦊🤘🎸
This album is insane so long, only listened to bangers til now I got some 'mirror mirror' vibes when she talked about magic, illusion, virtual/real world but couldn't get he whole point The truth is that I get so excited listening to the band and watching the visuals that usually I don't even stick to the lyrics 😂
Great reaction. Jake Muller already explained about Maya and how it represents illusion in Hindu mythology - and Road Runner has recommended two more great songs from this album and live performances, so I will second those suggestions. If you are going to react to 'Gimme Chocolate' and 'PA PA YA' try to find live versions if you can - 'PA PA YA' live at Yokohama Arena in 2019 would be good as guest vocalist F Hero was there to perform with them in person.
Essa é uma das minhas favoritas. Gosto de muitas outras também, posso indicar. Uma outra banda japonesa que acho fod@ é Hanabie, já tenho 4 indicações para te introduzir a banda, tu vai pirar quando ouvir.
Nice reaction, thanks! Yeah, some of their songs are straight forward but some others need and second or third listen to fully process it. It happens to me all the time and I'm supposed to be used to them, haha... "MAYA" is quite straight forward: huge riff, a classic BABYMETAL chorus... but it has some small details that makes the difference like that spoken breakdown and that final syncopated variation of the main riff before the final chorus. Still from The Other ONE: "Believing" (Live at PIA Arena 2023): th-cam.com/video/l_jCFgG6SIA/w-d-xo.html 🤘🦊
And, since you mentioned "METALIZM", please use a live version like this: METALIZM (Live at PIA Arena 2023): th-cam.com/video/wFZcwvJZBVg/w-d-xo.html The official video has the studio audio and it's not as good as this one. 😁
Muito bommm 🦊❤
