I tried placing a AAAA and a AAA as a pair. It didn't work. Somehow, it tests for individual capacity -(perhaps resistance, or even impedance). If it can test individually, they should spend an extra penny and make it charge individually. D-:= I only bought this because I needed one immediately and it was my only option. It's a major disappointment. The fact it can't charge AAAA is mind-boggling. For the cost, it should be a lot better AND SMALLER. It is needlessly oversized.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Although it is able to charge different batteries, it is not recommended to mix the battery sets in the charging process. I'd love that it charges individually, but I believe someone had explained about the limitation of the components that it has to charge in pairs. I do agree with you that it takes up quite a bit of space, but at the same time it has to be compatible with D batteries so for a smaller footprint, you may have to buy and store multiple small chargers which takes space too.
Hello there! Thank you for sharing your experiences. If I remember correctly I didn't talk about the blinking light in the video because I didn't have any bad batteries to show it. However I referred to the manual and it does say it is the error message for bad batteries. I downloaded a pdf on the energizer batteries from the official site and it says charge cycles can vary between 2 to 5 years depending on how much usage it is subject to. Once again, it is indeed expensive for the rechargeable batteries but in a long run, it is cheaper and more ecological than buying alkaline ones. Cheers.
Hi Dylon, I just bought it, after a lot of thinking and comparing. Call me dumb, but, just look at each battery seat for AA and AAA: it looks like there is enough room for placing one battery over the other.
Hello there! Thank you for your message. You know what, I actually had the exact same thought as you about how we could have squeeze more AAs and AAAs into the charger when I first used it. You are not alone!
@@dyloncai two round metal circles do not make sense. I just tried to do that, I will tell you what happened: the green light turned on, as in normal charging, and then after a while it turned off. Which I found normal since batteries were supposed to be full. I could be right, you know.
Hey there, I'm sorry I missed your comment, your comment were strangely held for review by TH-cam. I want to understand you better, could you tell me what do you mean by the two round metal circles not making sense? And I agreed with what you think is normal for the green light turning on and off for new batteries.
When I put the rechargeable batteries into the charger I get a solid green light but after about a minute the green light begins to blink. I have tried a number of different batteries (all new) and it is the same thing. I have tried plugging into different outlets and made sure that the plug is securely installed. Is there anyway to reset the charger?
Hello there, thank you for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear that you're having the blinking issue with the charger. From what I know there isn't any way to reset the charger and based on what you mentioned about having the same results despite trying different new batteries, which I hope they're NiMH ones, I think you may have to reach out to the store you bought the faulty charger from for an exchange(within their return policy period). If not you'll have to contact Energizer directly for its lifetime warranty. Hope it helps.
3:29 that table is for alkaline batteries, NiMH batteries have lower voltage per cell (1.2V compared to 1.5V on alkaline). NiMH batteries are full at about 1.4V and “empty” at around 0.9V but it depends on the device you’re using if it’s going to work at that low of a voltage thanks for the video, I now know that this charger is not for me
Hello there, yes I agree with you that public safety is very important for charging products like these. Prices for rechargable batteries have increased alot since. I've purchased 16 AA at 25€ in 2021 and today in 2023 the same pack is 50€..
Hello there! That's a good question. According to Energizer, the batteries should last up to 5 years or can be recharged up to 1500 times. Hope that helps!
Hello there, thank you for the question! I believe it is an indication of bad batteries, which it may be one or both of the batteries within the same circuit. Hope that helps!
That is a good question. I just tried with two different branded batteries. The 850mAh batteries(orange colour) from Auchan shows a blinking green light. Another set of 300mAh(green) from VTech charges without problem. I tested the Auchan set with a battery tester and one did not indicate any charge, probably the faulty one. I reused the one that worked with another Auchan battery and it charges fine with solid green light. I would suggest testing your batteries with a battery tester if you can. I didn't have to test with another charger, but if you do have access to a different charger, you can verify the "faulty" batteries if they do charge. Let me know how it goes for you. Cheers.
Hello, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I have not tried to mix my batteries(difference in capacity), but I have noticed that even if both batteries have the same capacity at different levels of charge, the charging will complete without any errors. There will be a slight difference in their "full" charge.
Thank you for reaching out. The charger is made to charge Ni-MH batteries. Google says the 18650 are Li-ion batteries so it is not recommended to use this charger for that. Hope that helps.
Hello there, yes there are plenty of rechargable brands out there. Personally I use mainly Energizer, I do also have rechargables from Ikea and some I savaged from old devices. Hope that helps.

Hello, thank you for sharing that! I've had a look and that model looks great especially that it has the battery status indicator. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available for european customers. So, lucky you! And whoever can get it!
This charger confused me so much thanks for clearing it up . I was worried that I wasted my money

The best of both world and appropriate cost reasonable and no threatening to public safety

How do we know if the batterys are charged? Thanks

I think this can happen when the battery pair has unequal batteries. The capacity (mAh) might be different.
