Wingman being able to plant is going to be huge if you pair it with smokes. Not only does it have a smaller hitbox and it will be harder to shoot through smokes, you can use it to fake the defuse and shoot back at whoever is covering it. This dude is going to clutch so many rounds.

Not really. Aside from the molly and ult, the area of effect for the other skills are rather small. You have to choose wisely where to use Gecko's utilities. And when your utils didn't hit anything, retrieving it makes you vulnerable if no one is backing you up.

The is almost no downside to using his util other than the usual 'this spot might be dangerous' and the obvious time-wasting element. But if you're going solo as an initiator in most rounds, you're trolling.
I think it has so much potential and a lot of utility. And also maybe some weaknesses like having the opportunity to kill the little monsters before they activate or stun. It looks fun to play with looking forward to it

The problem with moshpit is that it will literally never hit anyone because you have 3 seconds before it actually deals damage. IMO the worst molly type ability in the game. Also only 150 damage in the center. Compare that to a raze paint shells XD
Mosh pit (depends on timer) are great at controlling area Dizzy (if not breakable) are easy to use flash (though with 50% effectivity) Wingman is so niche, at best it just keep getting destroyed like raze bot ULT is skye doggo but with KJ ult effectiveness. We know how doggo usually ends
He is great at forcing people to back off and clear space with his abilities. I‘d actually say Raze and Breach are the most similar to him. Breach fills a very similar role, but in a very different style and Gekos abilities (except the flash) actually remember me of Razes.

This is now my 2nd favourite agent, I currently main yoru because of his super high potential but tbh I sometimes felt like going for some other agent but sadly no agent was that enjoyable for me like yoru but now that this lad is in game, I'm definitely picking him up, such a lone as well as team based agent.

And headhunter is insane, I feel like nobody is talking about its pull out speed. You can double tap with marshall in second, or just pull it out in instant if you miss or push is comming. But it is still sheriff, so without great game its not that good. But I play marshall only, so my priorities are different I guess.

I feel like Gekko would have an amazing friendship with Raze because they give me similar energy or vibes, their both hype and feels like a fun person to hangout with, I also have hopes on Gekko having great connection or being good friends with Skye! I'm currently a Skye main and It would be awesome seeing Gekko and Skye hanging out or relating with each others because of their similarity such as having Pets/Animals to help them in the Battlefield!

wingman is absolutely perfect. now you can't know if the enemy gekko is just fake defusing or if he is really defusing. he can peek from a different angle while his wingman is exposed and kill the enemy if he planted f.ex. for a long on haven
To be honest I don't really like that his Ult is just Skye Dog + Killjoy Ult with pretty much the exact same functionality and effect down to the detain effects. Doesn't feel super imaginative, the rest of the kit is great!

If riot is too obsessed with making every agent unique, we end up in the scenario like league of legends where characters are overturned and impossible to balance. What you are describing is what overwatch does and at the end of the day valorant is still a tactical shooter. Abilities should emulate flashes, smokes, grenades, etc. to a degree. The flavor of the agent should shine through their lore, voice lines, interactions, and less through their abilities even though the abilities should reflect the style of the agent to a degree. I want the game to have tactical shooting at the forefront and abilities moreso in the back. Having an ability that could plant and defuse is already something that is new enough for me. Effects like deafen, slow, heal, detain, concuss, etc, should always be consistent no matter what the agent is so the person hit knows what status effects they are under without having to read the hud at the bottom left in my opinion. Its impossible for valorant to find a balance for the player base for this reason. Your outlook isn't exactly wrong and mine isn't exactly correct either. We have different visions for how valorant should function and its probably difficult for riot to appease the spectrum of players.

I think a huge problem in low elo will be players sending the spike onto the point when its not even close to cleared and then they'll shoot him, spike will be on site, and enemy still has full control of site..... Will be tragic in gold/silver
I am not sure about him, it looks like there is a lot of imbalance in his kit. Dizzy and Moshpit look very bad. Wingman and Trasher look mid but when you consider that you can use them more than once they look very strong. I feel like this could be a situation like Kay/0 on release, where his flashes were so bad that they were almost not worth buying, but the rest of his kit was very strong.
moshpit is OP. It's basically a really really good at killing cornered enemy or delaying plant given how wide it's range is. It's good as long as you don't use it like Raze nade. Dizzy is questionable since it can be shot.. But it does it job at revealing enemy even if it get shot kinda like Fade octopus Wingman defuse is OP but the clap and plant is questionable and situational at best Trasher is just prime candidate for the next Roza ult. Tho you can combine it with Moshpit for easy risk free kill if you know what you're doing.

i mean, its pretty good tho. Vision and disable? It's virtually a free kill, if not multikill, every time if you're remotely close.
@@edjohn5114 I don't think the ability as a piece of kit is bad at all, I just think its unimaginative that it re-uses visuals and themes from other champions. The delivery could have been a lot more unique!
@@psywave_yt What you dislike is what I like, and what you dislike is what I like. I like that his functionality doesn't bring anything too new. If riot is too obsessed with making every agent unique, we end up in the scenario like league of legends where characters are overturned and impossible to balance. What you are describing is what overwatch does and at the end of the day valorant is still a tactical shooter. Abilities should emulate flashes, smokes, grenades, etc. to a degree. The flavor of the agent should shine through their lore, voice lines, interactions, and less through their abilities even though the abilities should reflect the style of the agent to a degree. I want the game to have tactical shooting at the forefront and abilities moreso in the back. Having an ability that could plant and defuse is already something that is new enough for me. Effects like deafen, slow, heal, detain, concuss, etc, should always be consistent no matter what the agent is so the person hit knows what status effects they are under without having to read the hud at the bottom left in my opinion.
Its impossible for valorant to find a balance for the player base for this reason. Your outlook isn't exactly wrong and mine isn't exactly correct either. We have different visions for how valorant should function and its probably difficult for riot to appease the spectrum of players.

You know, I feel like I have seen all of the abilities in the game so far, I would like for them to do something fresh and new, like they did with Skye ult or even Neon stan 🤷♀️ Right now it feels like they took a lot of abilities from other agents and just put them together in one new agent :) No hate though, gotta play him to see his mechanics :)

I think a huge problem in low elo will be players sending the spike onto the point when its not even close to cleared and then they'll shoot him, spike will be on site, and enemy still has full control of site..... Will be tragic in gold/silver

I am not sure about him, it looks like there is a lot of imbalance in his kit. Dizzy and Moshpit look very bad. Wingman and Trasher look mid but when you consider that you can use them more than once they look very strong. I feel like this could be a situation like Kay/0 on release, where his flashes were so bad that they were almost not worth buying, but the rest of his kit was very strong.
his flash is his free ability so , smart on that end
moshpit is OP. It's basically a really really good at killing cornered enemy or delaying plant given how wide it's range is. It's good as long as you don't use it like Raze nade.
Dizzy is questionable since it can be shot.. But it does it job at revealing enemy even if it get shot kinda like Fade octopus
Wingman defuse is OP but the clap and plant is questionable and situational at best
Trasher is just prime candidate for the next Roza ult. Tho you can combine it with Moshpit for easy risk free kill if you know what you're doing.
