STORY
We dedicate this episode to the memory of our grandfather Jaak, who passed away early this year at the age of 87 years old.
Documenting his place was important to us to create a lasting memory of our loving grandfather. He lived in the house for the majority of his life. Together with my grandmother, they had. nine children, and at one point, all of them lived inside the house. More than two decades ago, his wife passed away, leaving him alone inside the house, but he always found a way to occupy himself. The many interests of Jaak are evident throughout his place, in case it's pool, cycling, or pigeon fancying. Whether it was a very busy past or more peaceful later years, the house was a home for our family, and together with our grandparents, it will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Rest in peace, Jaak.

Lesley and Jody please take this advice from a 60 year old woman (who feels she was only 18 a few years ago) that life goes soo fast. Keep documenting and remembering past lives as, believe me, you will soon be an 80 year old yourself, wondering where all the time went.

I know what you mean, I am a 20 year old trapped in a 70 year old body! I tell my kids and grandkids, "don't blink or you will soon be my age". God bless you all, live your best lives, do the best you can and have no regrets. Make loads of wonderful memories while you are young so you have great memories to look back on when you are unable to do the things you once could.
How sweet and wonderful that you are documenting your families life with Jaak, your grandfather. It's nice to see Jordy again, he is looking good, and so are you Lesley. I'm sure you both are still feeling grief from your loss. Thank you so much for bringing this amazing story to us.

I am so sorry about your passing of your Grandparents I have just Lost both of my Grandparents as well My Grandfather was only 95 year old when he dies and my Grandmother was only 96 she dies

The jars of soil are so interesting! Instead of collecting thimbles, or shot glasses, or plastic souvenirs, collecting a small amount of earth is genius! Also, the deep groove in the bottom of those wine bottles is meant so that the wine server could hold the bottle from underneath and pour. It's a lost art. Condolences on the passing of your Jaak. My dad died in June 😿. I didn't have the blessing of being able to spend time in his house after he died and just.....absorb. you are so amazingly blessed thank you for sharing I wept healing tears throughout.

My Grandparents have sadly passed away from 5 month from each other I know that my Grandparents is watching over me and my family My Grandfather was only 95 year old when he passed away and My Grandmother was only 96 year old when she passed away please pray for me and my family

@@annsmith4739 thank you for your wishes. i do miss my mom everyday.i still cry,sometimes i dont even know i have tears rolling down my face. i lost my best friend of 40+yrs. because of her husband.lost my house when my husband had a heart transplant, then he got cancer from the anti rejection meds. took care of that cancer. then he got it again. same deal another cancer.taken care of. he just found another cancer.now we wait till the new year to get the results of his parkinsons test. i have my disabled brother living with me as well. it sucks!!!!!!!!! i think i need a holiday.

So sorry for your loss. I was blessed with living with my grandparents until I was 15 years old. I still remember every inch of their home. It was a large house, about 4,000 Sq ft and so beautiful. I treasure those memories.

So so sorry for your loss. It is so good of you to document the memory of your grandfather for your family generations to come. I too lost my husband and daughter within 3 weeks last year so I know how important it is to keep their memories alive for my granddaughters my daughter's children. We still watched the videos of the good times we spent together so that my granddaughters still remember their mother. The younger girl was only 6 when their mother passed away.

I’m so glad you guys took the time to showcase your memories of your late relative. I hope you are doing well guys. This video almost had me in tears, not just because your grandfather sounds like he was a good man but because I was remembering my own grandfather. If I could go into his trailer one last time if I got permission from the landlord or residents themselves I think I would.

My grandfather came from Poland to the states snd was a painter and did wallpaper. I love the pictures of you and your brother. What great memories

I am sorry but I can't watch this video. Our family home sits vacant after my dad's last wife decided money was more important than history. Our farmhouse was built in 1860 by a German immigrant who farmed and made shoes. It had been a celery farm, a place where nuns lived, a boarding house and when my parents bought it, it was a family home. 3 generations lived there at one point. Both of my parents died in that house, mom of brain cancer when she was 55 and my dad had a massive heart attack dec 30, 2016. This house is very much loved by my brother and I and your video is making me miss our home and family. 😭😭😭 I am truly sorry for your loss and I know the struggle you and your brother had in making this video. Thank you for keeping your family memory alive❤

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. I lost my last grandparent (my dad's mom at 96 due to Dementia and a broken hip) just before Covid-19 started in 2020.

It's so sweet that you shared this amazing house and, personal story Thank you. I love all your videos you are such an amazing young man. I usually don't comment on your videos but love the work you all do. First, prayers 🙏🙏🙏 for comfort 💗 on you both and your entire families loss. You will be so glad that you have documented this for continued memories. I lost my grandparents over two decades ago and I'm so glad I took a video while they were still alive but of the house where they lived and the grounds. May God be with you all the comfort you.
What a wonderful legacy to have of your beloved grandfather. There were some nice antique pieces throughout the house that were really beautiful and unique. The jars of soil from different places around the world were such an interesting idea. There was so much love throughout the house. This was an amazing video! So sorry for your loss, guys. The jars of earth from different countries was touching and that is a very friendly looking basement. Your grandfather's house didn't look sad at all and I had the thought of how he honored your grandmother and their life together by keeping their home in good repair all these years as long as he was able. Make sure to take some mementos with you because once they are gone, they are gone forever and when you get older you'll appreciate having them. Wishing you and your family comfort and peace.
