Power tool paint shaker might be my new favorite thing
It worked well for a long while. Looking for the STL link I seen one that could shake 4 at a time.
@@emperorshobby 4 at once sounds like my speed.
Glad I found your video. I was looking for a paint mixer since the small vortex one I have doesn't work too well. Printing off the jigsaw one. Good breakdown for people who don't understand why paints need to be mixed.
Thanks for watching! Glad you found the video helpful! Good luck with the jigsaw mixer.
How about an orbital sander or just a plane vibrating sander, just slap a polishing sponge on the plate or maybe a 3D printed holder for multiple botles and you could mix multiple botles at the same time.
Seems like a fun idea. I have a battery powered one that would work good. I seen a couple other on thingiverse that you could hook up to a drill that transferred to a shaking table.
Wal-Mart has a Jigsaw online for $22.88, with free shipping to their stores. I picked mine up at an Estate Sale, for $10, used. I use Blue Painters Tape ($3.42 @ Wal-Mart), wrapped around the bottle, and the blade, to secure the bottle: no deforming the bottle, no stress on the bottle at all. It works superbly. I can use the same long piece of painters tape, for 12+ bottles of paint shaking. So the Jigsaw method will cost around $25 (new, including tape roll -- will last for several years...), versus $120 for the Vortex Mixer, or roughly 1/5 the cost, and no nerve damage to your hand. The Jigsaw method is the best, lease expensive method, bar none. If the blade bothers you, take a file or grinder to it, and remove its teeth. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing! I like the painter's tape idea. In reality for planned paint sessions I'll pre mix using the 3d printed device and jig saw, then just before using give it a quick hit with the vortex mixer. Vortex mixer is safe for short bursts just not for long extended sessions.
Beautiful, wonderful video, man.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great information, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
There are a lot of vortext style mixers for less than $50 that work amazing. You are not using them for their intended medical use, and there for do not need the expensive one. A simple amazon search will yield some very afforable results. That jig-saw blade contraption is pretty cool, but it should have had the teeth filed completely off. That is a serious hazard!
Thanks for the reply! Another reason we switched to the vortex mixer, I didn't want the kids using it.
awesome! did you stop streaming? or have i just not noticed when you have been online lately? also i have the same fores vortex mix and can attest they are worth the investment.
We've been streaming more lately. Couple times this past week and a few the week before. We plan on at least once a week going forward.
