According to James Franco, the first cut of "disaster artist" was also sad, yet while shooting they saw Tommy, who was visiting the set, always at the phone with the friend he was supposed to had a fight with, so noticing that they were still actually friend in real life, they decided to change the ending accordingly.

A while back I heard all the memes about The Room, so I found it on TH-cam. Watched it. Downloaded it immediately. But after watching Disaster Artist a little later, I had a new respect for Tommy. Just doing what he dreams of doing, and not letting anyone tell him its wrong or can't be done. He put his heart, and about $6 million into that movie and I really respect the guy for that. I really need to read the book, catch up on everything I missed out on.
