I think most people in UK garages are fairly relaxed about helmets, so usually no need to take it off. If someone tells me to, I wouldn't argue or be rude, I'd just do it, pay and go elsewhere in future.

J. James I agree for most bikers it's a simple task. But if your like me and wear glasses, it takes a few minutes to take off the glasses, remove the helmet, and put them back on. And then to repeat the process when we get out 3 minutes later.

it's a pain to remove your gloves, glasses, and helmet, wasting time when they can see enough of your face through the open visor. Also they rarely provide room on the cluttered counter to put these things. So you're left trying to hold your stuff while fumbling around with your wallet then trying to take your purchase while being rushed by the people behind you. It's annoying.

When are some of these bikers going to realise that the gas stations aren't asking you to remove your helmet for Identification, much like a hi-jab. Its because the helmet, in the event of a robbery, gives the person wearing it protection from anyone who tries to defend themselves, and could also be used as a weapon. I can imagine a headbutt from someone wearing a helmet would do some serious damage.

I'm seeing stickers on the pumps asking riders to remove their helmets more and more so soon there will be no excuse and no choice - just accept it and fill up (or do what I've done - flip front helmet, had no problems with that on.)

TheMadRatter I've never been denied service for wearing a hoodie up, especially when an attendant knows it's cold or raining outside. Helmets are a legal requirement in a lot of places, so to compare them to anything else is foolish.
The fact is, religion shouldn't excuse you from basic procedure - and I will wear my helmet inside as long as a Muslim woman can wear their rags over their face and not be told to remove them. Religious freedom works both ways.
That being said, the reason they get away with such things is because Europeans and Americans are so sensitive about what they do and say. Who cares what I call someone? It's a word, if you're offended by it then you should grow some balls. We humans need to stop letting "derogatory words" slow down our progression of standards. Humanity needs to grow a spine.
To the guy at 7:20 (at the gas station), I personally work at a gas station and the reason why we ask you to remove your helmet is to be able to see your face in case of robbery/accidents and the likes. It’s nothing personal or racial, it’s purely for our own safety. We ask everyone to do it, and if you are nice about it, I personally often let you keep it on (if you can just lift the entire front portion, like some helmets can).
Yes in this clip there were no signs, but i feel like this would be common curtesy to show your face to the person you are interacting with.

Don't matter if they do have a no helmet sign - its a store policy not a law, and they cannot refuse service for not consenting to a store policy as its lawfully considered discrimination.
You need to take off the helmet in case you commit a crime so they can see you.
Why do I constantly hear bikers say there is no sign, when they asked not to wear their helmet inside? Who cares if there is a sign? There is no sign that says I can't rub my balls on everything in the store, but that doesn't mean I can. They can't post every rule on the door. They have a rule against robbery and theft, however they probably don't have a sign for that either.
