It just dawned on me who Scout reminded me of...my guardian dog Bella! I used to raise sheep, Bella was my last guardian before I retired. She was also the smallest, she was a Maremma/Anatolian cross, I think her mature weight was around 60 lbs, small for a guardian. When Rook, my BC was a pup, he and Bella were best buds and played like River and Scout. You're bringing back unexpected memories for me 😊.

I have so loved watching your adventures I never tire of watching you, we have been to Turkey 8 times and visited some lovely places swam in the blue lagoon hired a jeep through the mountains not bad for 4 50 odd years old our jeep broke down on one of our jaunts fortunately my brother in law was a motor engineer ( sadly no longer with us ) . We too visited Tlos and the ghost town took a trip up the river it brought back many happy memories thank you so mush for sharing your journey with us and for rescuing such an adorable puppy. Great film and montage. The abandoned village was very sad. Obviously there's been no shortage of strife between Turks, Greeks and Armenians. Isn't it curious that all these groups have marvellous hospitality to outsiders but just can't get along with each other? Northern Ireland is like that, the catholic and protestant communities are some of the warmest people you can meet so long as you're not involved in their politics. Likewise Ethiopia - currently tearing itself apart on a tribal basis - and many other countries. I find it exasperating but maybe I'm just too idealistic. I judge people on what they're like as individuals - not on their ethnicity. Is this a minority or majority view? I think everybody should try it for five years and let's see if the world gets any better. Anyhow, Merry Christmas to you both, thanks for improving the quality of life for armchair travellers like me. Hope 2022 is a vintage year for all four of you.
