We're Chesca and Ben, and with our two pups River & Scout (🐶 🐶 ) we live and travel full-time in our self converted sprinter van, Sophia. We spent the first 3 years road tripping and doing as much van life in Europe as we could, from the wild coasts of Portugal to the Syrian border in Turkey, tackling lockdowns and another DIY van re-build along the way. But, as restrictions get imposed on British travellers in Europe, we felt like a new challenge. In the summer of 2022, we shipped our tiny home on wheels to Canada to begin the Pan American Highway - taking us from Alaska to the bottom of Argentina. This is our journey, come and join us.
The obligation to complete the trip was never owed to anyone, including yourselves. Adventures are exciting, variable, ambitious, uncertain and ever-changing. Living life in the way you have over the Pan-American trip has been a success in that you got from it what you needed and the ending was what was right for you. No regrets and embrace every new day. ❤. You two (four!) are amazing storytellers and we all love being included in your journey!

Hey guys, You made the right decision for you and unless someone experiences this lifestyle it is very hard to explain how challenging it can beat times. What you have achieved is amazing and you have created memories that you will remember forever (Especially on the beach in Baja LOL !) - that is what it's all about. Well, I'm just glad you're all safe and sound. Have to admit I was truly wondering. All I can say is that you've shown me parts of my country (Canada) and continent that I didn't know about and any hope of seeing in my lifetime. For that I'm eternally grateful. You two and the doggies have done Amazing!!! From one Plymouth couple to another, we’re so proud of you. We got our van last September and started a you tube channel, nothing as adventurous as you as we’re still working full time, we’re currently in Jiva beach Resort, Fethiye, Turkey, on a package holiday. We do three months at a time away in Europe in our motorhome it's always really Nice to get home and not to be traveling every day. After a few months at home we get itchy feet and off we go again for three months and it's lovely to be in the motorhome again.
Yep totally feel this! I think our new travel will have similar rhythm to it 💛

I’m happy for you both that you’re home, but I’m so sorry for your loss. Van life can look exciting, and adventurous to all the armchair travellers but I’m sure ( as you’ve said) it can be uncertain, test your patience, language barriers , sometimes worried for your physical safety. I’ve been watching you since you landed in my home country, Canada.

What a nightmare , don’t think I’ll ever be visiting Mexico or South America, you both have memories and what you’ve achieved is amazing, and you’ve seen the majority of America north and south , still say Alaska was the best part of your trip , absolutely amazing. Scotland especially at the top is beautiful, you can’t go far wrong up there , enjoy your break at least you’re both home and safe .

Holy Moly! What an adventure just to get home. Ben and Chesca, you guys just proved that you're capable of overcoming any obstacles thrown your way. We will definitely be hitting that notification button so as not to miss your next video(s). Life is too short to be running at full speed so we're very happy that you are taking some much-needed downtime to reconnect with family and friends. The beauty of TH-cam is that it isn't formatted and rigid. Use that freedom. It's always exciting to see a new video pop up from my favourite creators. It doesn't have to be every week. It doesn't have to be regular. The adventures that give you the most pleasure will make the best videos. Instead of posting videos as you go, you should just make a whole trip (for example, around Ireland), then take your time to edit and release multiple episodes about that trip. I can't imagine how much time you've spent editing and worrying about content, instead of just enjoying yourselves at times. You can set a whole new pace for yourself.

I'm glad you're all OK, and home safe and sound. Must admit was starting to worry a bit there! Sorry for your loss. One of the best things about van travel is you can make it up as you go along. And changing plans and knowing when enough is enough is the mark of experience. I've been following you for some years and learnt heaps. I hope to get at least across Canada and the US in the near future and look forward to the live and learning even more

We know more than most how hard it can be to travel for a long period of time away from your loved ones, in a country where you can often feel alone.
We're gutted that we won't get to meet you guys in South America, I think we would have been hitting Ushuaia together.
We're popping back in July and holding a camp out in the Midlands at the start of August. We would love it of you could make it.
Keep in touch and hopefully you guys can live vicariously through the rest of our travels in South America

That feeling of ‘time to go home’ happened to us after 11 months overland on our wonderful USA/ Canada trip in our U.K. vehicle, so many epic memories, have really enjoyed following your adventures so far.
Glad your home safe and sound, sorry not been following for a year due to personal reasons looking after my wife. Hope you had a good time on your america trip bit different than the Africa trip you had planed. be good stay safe both of you and the dogs.

You’ve had an extraordinary adventure in North and Central America and you graciously shared it with all of us. We rode along vicariously with you and it was out of this world. It's such a brave thing to realise when you need to change paths in life, ultimately your happiness is the most important thing. Travel fatigue is real, and missing friends and family is always a difficult trade-off, even more so on a long and epic trip like you were on. What you've achieved is amazing and we hope to see more from you in the future 💙

Completely understand your decision to return. Sounds like you did the right thing. We did a lot of van-life over 2 years and missed all of the things you described! Even whilst enjoying the sights and sounds of the places we were visiting, we still missed people at home and the space for hobbies that living in our house gives us!
You guys have had the trip of a lifetime! Absolutely get the pressures of plans when you have put them out into the world let alone with an audience. So happy you have done what's right for you all!
