Thank you Zubris! Will do. I've been working on a spin-off channel called Live Sound 101 where I will continue this video series eventually. So far it's got over 150 vlog videos about doing live sound. The vlogs aren't as well produced but it will give you something to listen to in the background to pick up some things and learn the mindset of an audio engineer. Hope you enjoy it.

love this series! I started doing live sound because I really was infatuated with it when I went to shows I was always more in awe of the sound techs then the musicians. wanted to do live sound but it was hard to get a job w no experience. so I started a production company just so I could do sound at shows. still doing both and just love it!
Oh the other reason I started the production company was so my band could play consistently I also do recording and all that. my production company is called *The Outlet Unplugged* if you want to, check out our live videos and interviews on TH-cam and our Facebook page.

Good questions to be asking Marko. There are many types of AV technicians. To narrow things down you'd first have to pick an industry, film, broadcast, commercial integration, residential integration, rental staging & live sound, educational, medical, government, etc. All of those industries and more require skilled AV technicians of some sort and of varying degrees of specialty. Each industry has different specific needs and equipment requirements.

Wound up falling into doing live sound for my church long story. Yes that’s why I’m not sleeping in a Sunday morning at 5 a.m. yah there’s a LOT to learn. You can start with this is a knob and totally not be too rudimentary for me

I've got an interview for a volunteer sound assistant position at our local (nonprofit) jazz club next week. I'm often the default sound girl unless there's an actual professional around. I've gleaned a lot about sound over the years, but I'm sure there are gaps!

i started djinn in 2017 and one of my friends told his mate that i'm djinn and it's going to be my first time being in a band and they needed somebody do the live sound for the band

hi, how did you get into the stagehand-work? Especially with big names. I work at a local small venue but i want to get into it more.
+zimonslot Good question. I was working at the theater on campus at UMass Lowell as a student doing part time work. This was a super entry level position similar to working at the campus library, but WAY more fun. My boss at the time Casey managed the events at the theater, additionally Casey had connections with Bill Kenney Productions where he did a bunch of work. One day there was a really big show in town. I remember it like it was yesterday, Deaf Leopard and Brian Adams. Casey's boss, Bill needed a few extra hands and I was asked to come help out as a stage hand at my first real show at the Agganis Arena in Boston. I guess I wasn't a complete fool so I got asked back to help with the next show. Once my name and number was saved in the stage managers cell phone I just kept getting calls to do more work. I ended up working as a stage hand at almost every big show at the Tweeter Center in the summer of 2006. Even got my first "show call" when someone higher up the food chain called out sick. That's basically how it happened, before I made my exit into the world of commercial AV systems integration.

I think it's fantastic what you are doing, I got into live sound 3-4 years ago and after a few months I was hooked and according to my teachers best in year group but then covid got me out of it for 2 years just learning studio but because of you trying to get back into it so what is your advice of getting back in
