Wow! That's a lot more than I expected, but I knew it was good. And scarce. I got to see the people who had it this weekend, and they were excited when I told them the comp you found!
Awesome! I’m glad to see people of all colors starting to appreciate antiques and vintage! They tell a lot about who we are and who we want to be as a people
People seem to be turned off by the attributes of the female deco lamp. They don’t understand Classical Greek mythology and statuary. Everyone should at least expose themselves to a bit of art history. Amazing what survives.
The commemorative piece for Gettysburg: who was pictured on the piece? You were talking about Grant at the time but Grant wasn't anywhere near Gettysburg.
It was a 50th anniversary commemorative and they chose Grant as the head of the Army to adorn the piece, probably because they figured a lot of people by then were fuzzy on the details of the war
@@TheAntiqueNomadShorts The historical inconsistency would make me crazy so I couldn't own that one 😂. Loved the art deco piece from earlier in the segment
Cool lamp!
The "IT" lamp sold for $2,283 without the glass in 2020. My goodness what a treasure. You're right, so many lovely things in people's homes. Fun.

Wow.
I sold the Grant salesman sample 20 years ago for 750. From my husband's collection, found in CA.
Nice to know! I figured it would be good

I agree, I think they missed the point...but the people in the know definitely know better! It's worth over $2000 as it turns out
