when I was growing up in Manila, we used to play Ray Conniff Christmas albums while decorating the house, making our own Christmas tree and my brothers making the big parol or lantern, played the long playing records until January 6 for Three Kings!
I remember the Christmas Parols when I was in the Philippines on my very first Westpac cruise when I was in the Navy. I rode Victory Liner to Caloocan City. I seen many Christmas Parols in Pampanga, Bulacan provinces & Manila. I met my late wife on January 16, 1975, we didn’t ‘t get married till after I got stationed at SRF Subic Bay. My late wife& I were married 31 years when she passed away in March 6,2010 in Tucson,AZ. Ay Pasko Ay sum ap it was our favorite Christmas song. My heart will always be in the Philippines, I miss it there.
