- I have been flying Slow Stick planes since I got back into RC planes in 2005 -- The original GWS kits are super hard to find and also make a wonderful FPV platform. I really enjoyed designing and building this plane. I have made all the 3D Printer files available on Printables.com -- please check it out.

Thanks for the support!
Don't listen to the criticism. What have they done? Nothing! Great job. I'm an old Slow Stick enthusiast.
My wife gave me permission to say "old guys rule" and now Dave, I pass that on to you. Thanks for sharing. Jim
Not sure how to take that. 😄
man that things a beauty im jelly! i wish i had a 3d printer i really want to get one now 🤔
I love the new design for the wings and the black wings look fantastic!
What an awesome SLow Stick Build, sir. This reminds me of the Old GWS Slow Stick that I still have. I have 3 of them brand new in the box still. Including the Corsair, P40, and P51. Your slow stick is much nicer than the GWS Slow Stick. You did an excellent job. It flies really well, too!
Thank you very much. I too still have several original GWS Slow Sticks - none still new in the box though.
Awesome!! That thing flys great!!!
Nice work my friend!😮
Nice build. Just put some stabalization on my slow stick. It is much better. Assume you are running INAV?
No, I am using QLiteOSD just for OSD. No flight controller.
actually really cool i like your ideas man subscribed for sure
Thanks!
Inspiring video and project, thank you! Aloft Hobbies still sell GWS Slow Sticks FYI. I've flown a Pico Stick. I took it with me on a deployment back in the early 2000's and flew it on my days off at Al Udeid AB in Qatar.
Thanks for the info!
Rubber Bands are a pain in the butt, however if you could see my landings you'd know why I prefer them over a hard mount. 😊
Hahaha, yeah I get it.
I'm Impressed w the video. You had commentary and good music whilst driving. The stick looks gr8. 👌 especially the gear 😢
Thanks! 👍 I appreciate the feedback.
Received OK ! Many thanks .
Where can I find that carbon main gear? thanks...
www.printables.com/model/759660-slow-stick-fpv-plane-with-carbon-fiber-arrow-shaft. All the parts including the landing gear are listed on printables. It just makes it easier to list it all in one place.
@@Qromer Thank you Sir
This Videonmade my day a bit Better!
Thanks
Love the video. Cant wait for a sunny day flight!
Nice job I might try that out! Did you use dollar tree foam board for the wing and tail?
No, but many have used the dollar tree foam.
Hi. Very keen on building one. Dimensions on wing and tail feathers? 🤠👍🛩️🇿🇦
Thanks! The full scale PDF and DXF CAD files are listed with the STL files.
@@Qromer It is for sure a stable, slow flyer for relaxed fpv🤠👍
this is 10x better than the Flite Test version. I just bough a boatload of black sealing tape because I can't find any white DTFB, just black, but the clear tape actually looks better on the black foamboard than the black tape
Hey thanks! Yeah I was not impressed with the light test version or the horizon hobby one. I plan to get a lot of flights on this and I will post some more videos. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great job on the build, the flight, the video and tunes
Boa noite, tenho um que eu mesmo construi, faz algum tempo, qual a eletronica que eu poderia usar, ele tem um metro e vinte de envergadura.
It sounds like you could use the recommended electronics listed with the parts. Check the link in the description.
Wow! Very interested in what you have achieved. I still fly an FPV Slow Stick with Kopilot lite flight controller. Please find a way to kit this.
Love this! I have a bunch of Lidl gliders on the shelf so using one of those wings and making a fuselage out of 2 carbon arrow shafts to make a slow flyer is a great idea!
Hello Qromer!! I have buyed your 3d files in printables. Can you pass me the file to cut the wings? Great design!!
Thanks for the support. My buddy that has the foam cut files is out of the country for a couple of weeks. Very sorry, I will share them as soon as I can.
@@Qromer Ok. I,ll wait for It. Thanks!
I have now updated the Slow Stick listing with both the DXF and PDF files for the wings and tail. Thanks for the support.
Thank you!!@@Qromer
Great job! And the weather just makes it memorable.
Yes indeed! It was fun.
That is a fantastic build. I really like it. Doesn't hurt that I'm a slow stick fan from way back. Also, that looks like a really great place to fly. You have one helluva runway!
Thanks, it is a fun place.
Plane looks great. I doubt I could build this. Looks like it has quite a few printed parts. Very nice flight.
I bet you can build it!
NIce design. Are those the slow stick wings too or you made them?
Thanks
I made them. Thanks!
@@Qromer Cool. What foam did you used...regular dollar tree foam?
Fantastic video, and an awesome design. I am keen to understand how you made the wing. It looks extremely rigid, but I couldn't see any ribs or spars?
The wing is 5mm foam board with a slightly thicker paper. It is very ridged. There is a 3mm carbon rod on the leading edge and trailing edge of the wing.
@@Qromer that you so much. Keep doing the amazing projects.
clicked subscribe, clicked allow ads, still just get the blocked ad, real shame, was really interested
Odd, not sure what is blocking you.
I loved your video. You brough that Slow Stick to another level.
Thank you! I am still enjoying it.
Such a great Slown flyer, Really Nice!!!
Yeah, it honestly feels like flying in an Ultralight -- love being able to look around and just enjoy the scenic flight.
I have watched ur vids for a long time. Its amazing how u r one of the guys who are bringing back some amazing planes from some time back
Thanks! Back in the day, it seemed like everyone owned a Slow Stick. Lots of fun memories with this plane.
@@Qromer so true... I had to build my own. Flew just as good hahah
Hi! I all ready buy your design my question is do you have a design aileron on the wings, pls can you add have 4 channels design thank you…
It is easy to cut ailerons and add servos.... Personally I do not like the way ailerons fly on this design and do not recommend it. Thanks.
@@Qromer it’s too much dihedral can you design less dehedral to make at aileron thanks…
Hi, Nice design. I got the files from printables, but the DXF measurements do not match the A4 PDF measurements. Can you share some dimensions so I can see what it's supposed to be. Like wingspan and stabilizer span.
The A4 PDF file was made from the DXF. Use QCad with the DXF file and you should have the exact measurements.
@@QromerOk, must be my printersettings then, but at least now I know that the DXF is the original.
Always good to fly doesn't matter the weather👍
I agree 👍
I have today bought the STL files and have already started to print. I cannot find though instructions for the wing .Do you intent to publish these instructions ?
Yes, I will be adding the wing design as well. I will do another video with more details as well. Thanks for the support!
@@Qromer Many thanks ,looking forward !!!
I have now updated the Slow Stick listing with both the DXF and PDF files for the wings and tail. Thanks for the support.
Perfect day, nice model you got
Thank you very much! I can't wait to get more flights in.
Nice Plane and great flying !
Thanks a lot!
can you include dims for the wings please?
The shared PDF are actual size.
Wing Span 1176 mm (46.3 in)
@@Qromer okay thanks. i nearly have all the plastics printed out. then i will do the wings, nervous to make them because i never have used filmboard before i might try using beer boxes... btw have you built one using a smaller prop? i have several 5 inch props from drones ive made, with 6s motors. but im not sure if i should try one or just go for the big blade like you did.
DAMN MUSIC
The music is great. Would you rather hear an electric motor buzzing? It's not cool like an ICE. So it's fine.
Why this annoying music which is way louder than your voice ? 😢
Thanks, noted.
Yep, though it never seems to bother me. I just hit the Mute button when I hear the Muzak! Folks who aren't smart enough to limit the extraneous noise on their videos only rarely have anything interesting to add anyhow! 😉😊
Don't watch it then. You entitled man-child. The video is not for you and it's not all about you. It's better than listening to a motor buzzing. It's not like he is revving ab ICE.
good work. BUT, i would have FIXED the defects in the design. among other things, the vert-stab design Sucks. this model 'looks' like a slow-flyer, but it is fat/heavy. so, the use of a SF prop is Not recommended. it appears that the stabs should be about two inches farther from the wing. a tail wheel goes at the Tail. the height of a tail wheel strut should not interfere the tail's ability to move downwards.! you may know the following: an aircraft's center of mass (c-m) is Supposed to be located On the thrust line, at a point that vertically aligns with twenty-five percent of chord; as indicated in linked illustration. the distribution of mass (dom) of an aircraft can be visualized as a horizontally oriented 'teardrop' shape; one that is 'centered on' the described point. happily, you have correctly located the cg; near thirty percent of chord. there remains, however, significant tail-heaviness in the model's dom; because of the excess mass in the dual carbon tail booms and the location of servos/mass aft of the cg/c-m. the use of CF in a tail boom is Not recommended. in part, this is so because the dom of a CF component Cannot be Optimized. d googletranslate

I love this plane and the way it is flying. My intent was to make a slow stick. Thanks for sharing your opinions.
What are you on about? The Slow Stick is perfect. It is not a high-performance model. The slow fly prop is perfect for it. You're tripping balls. Let's see you build. You like to criticize without even having built one before, just like all the armchair engineers in the TH-cam comment section. The slow stick is flying perfectly. Also, may planes have a mid-rear steerable wheel. It does not have to be on the tail.
