I have listened to both and actually I thought this was the best. The beginning was strong and had some similarities. He definitely has the range and as I said he definitely has a very good voice, but I don't think he sounds as much like Freddie as everyone keeps saying.

I agree with you! One of my biggest regrets in life was not going to their concert in 1982 when they played at the New Haven coliseum here in Connecticut. If I'm not mistaken, my parents felt I was too young to go to concerts back then. (Should have snuck out of the house 😊) If you don't mind me asking, have you ever seen them live ? Just grateful we can continue to enjoy their music and watch some of their performances here on TH-cam.🎼

I liked your link, but I wish the audience hadn't sang with him...I couldn't hear his voice much in order to compare with Marc Martel. However, I will give you this...when a crowd sings along that loudly, it's generally a spot-on cover.

Back in the 80s I liked Queen, but not overly in to them.
Now years later I'm addicted to them cuz of Marc , Adam, Queen today and the movies/concerts of today.
Queen really was a phenomanol band with Freddie back then.
I'm so glad their music lives on with help from these modern day and original band members.
Freddie would be so proud as well as humbled.

@@PP-po1gs I'm pretty sure they couldn't since Marc Martel isn't familiar with the film industry. they did use his singing (it was a mix of Freddie and Marc singing so it didn't sound exactly like Freddie) for some of the songs that Rami lipsynced to though.

Great King Rat Brian and Roger performed once with Queen Extravaganza not with Marc Martel, Marc Martel was one of four! singers for Qu Ex then. It's happened before they started collaboration with Lambert.
Great King Rat Brian and Roger keep a loooooong distance with Martel for some reason?! They are still good friends with Jeff S Soto who was one of the QuEx singers back then. Jeff attended Queen + AL's with gig a couple of days ago. There is a nice picture of Jeff with Roger on Instagram.
Great King Rat Check him out. Jeff is touring with his own band at the moment. He was asked to front Queen and was brilliant with interpretation of their songs. There are definitely some videos on youtube! Apart from being a front man for Journey, he was touring with Trans-Siberian Orchestra and other rock bands.

The best part about his singing is not because he sounds like Freddie but he brings in that same home type of feeling that Freddie brought us when he was still alive, he sang for the outcasts and losers. He made everyone feel united under a musical succession. That’s why I love listening to this guy, he brings in the same amount of home that most people who try to do covers of Freddie lack.

His voice is such a perfect blend of his own and Freddie's.
People forget that in the studio his vocals were performed separate from his piano playing. Here Marc is doing a studio version of WATC while playing piano! Yes, Freddie could play and sing it live, but it was very different vocally than the studio version.
A great performance, but, it does show how much Queen songs mostly needed all the band instruments and backing vocals for full effect.
