Someone told him long ago "You sound like Freddie Mercury" and this man has dedicated himself to take that mantle on and keep Freddie's spirit alive. You can tell he has studied him through and through to not only provide a near identical vocal but the presence as well. Marc is a true gift to Queen fans.
A lot of similarities come naturally. Marc wasn't studying Freddie day and night like some tribute artists do, trying to match Mercury's every note and dance move on stage. If you watch videos of Marc singing Queen music in concert, it is evident that he's not focused on that, it's mostly about keeping the original Queen sound and staying faithful to Freddie's artistic choices.
@@QueenCelebrationLive Which is what a lot of Queen fans really want more than sheer mimicry which will always come off a little cartoonish, like Elvis impersonators. Similarly I'd rather watch a Beatles cover band like The Analogues who don't dress like them or put on their accents, they just do the albums well with authenticity.
Not even kidding you. When Marc was in the band Downhere, they came to my church to perform as the opener to Barlow Girl. My dad saw him in the lobby during a break and told him how much he sounded like Freddie Mercury. When I found out he literally became like... The official Freddie impersonation guy, I was shook. Dude is so friggin talented. I love listening to those Downhere albums still

In a world that's gone as cold as ours has, being an awesome musician/vocalist who is able to do something on a level possibly nobody else can, is a pretty wonderful thing to be. There is only one Freddie Mercury but I FULLY BELIEVE that Freddie would have loved to see Marc perform...darling! 💪😁👍
Thats why he did most of the retakes and singing in the Queen movie from a couple years ago.
Truth, his voice so close its amazing.
He has a voice that in some parts resembles him a lot, but personally I find him "scholastic", in my opinion he lacks the typical vibrato that Freddy Mercury used, certainly still deserves attention but it is not the same thing in my opinion.

I know Brian very well. it is the 5th initiation according to. In the 5th person is 85% connected with his spirit. Such people have a huge charge of pure spirit or fire. There is more about initiations in books. There are a lot of people who are irritated by the vibration, but these are the dark ones.

@@odonovan He was a surprise! She mentioned that this whole show was a rollercoaster of emotion, so don't discount that Marc didn't contribute to that wild ride! She even ran up to the stage for a hug from Marc!
It’s hard not to get emotional. It’s the closest cover and performance of anything I’ve ever heard. He’s got the Freddie vibrato spot on.
He’s amazing. But he’s not animated enough so Queen stuck with Adam Lambert as their front man..

This is as close as you can get to Freddie Mercury without making a deal with a eldritch horror to resurrect Freddie. The Producers of that Queen Biopic even used him for a lot of the vocals on the movie

I recently saw queen with Adam Lambert, and there’s no denying that Adam can sing. However, Marc is phenomenal and I would’ve loved to have seen him as the front man! While no one can replace Freddie, Marc is pretty darn close to Freddie’s Incredible voice.

I don’t think so. They performed with Luke Spiller, and Luke looks, acts and sounds like Freddie quite a bit. Besides, Martel’s vocal resemblance to Freddie doesn’t do any disservice to Fred. Marc’s renditions are excellently executed and very respectful. He actually honours Freddie’s musicality! AND Marc is a world-class musician, multi-instrumentalist, a composer - in short, he is a dream frontman for any band! Just not for May. Dear Brian is done paying tribute to Freddie.

When Marc would come sing at our college, he would stay in our dorm. The other bands would demand to stay in the "nicest" hotel. They are nobody...and Marc is somebody to love...

Celine was absolutely awe struck! So much so she was brought to tears! Did you see that? Is it Marc Martel is a very dedicated Christian man? Prior to singing for Queen , he was on many Christian albums! The group was called down here.
Queen truly is the biggest band there ever was and ever will be. I love them, I really wish I could have met Freddie Mercury, may he rest in peace with Her Majesty the Queen. RIP. Marc Martel truly is great, he sounds so much like Freddie.
Seeing videos like this still shock me. I'm telling you. I saw this guy back in the early 2000s being an opener for a Christian band called Barlow Girl at my church when he was still a part of the band Downhere. I still listen to those albums. But they started the whole concert with "We Will Rock You." I remember my dad leaving for the restroom and coming back, telling us how he saw Marc in the lobby and just chatted with him, talking about Queen and how he seemed to have such a natural talent to sound like Freddie. I thought that was so cool. Now seeing stuff like this and knowing he is the legit Queen impressionist that tours, it blows my mind.
He is not an impressionist of any kind. Marc just naturally sounds like Freddie.

I got to take my 14 year old daughter, who is a massive Queen fan, to see Marc in concert. She was so excited and had a great time. She loves Queen, Bowie, Elton, Journey and others from that time. I desperately want to take her to see Elton in Philadelphia as he’s really the only one left still alive. It’d mean so much to her and to me but just isn’t possible. We’ve lost so much since Covid first showed up. Lost my income, most of what I owned, my vehicle and my trailer and a trip to Disney I was finally able to afford after 10 years that I promised my daughter when she was 3. Now stuck, can’t work, need so much help and not being able to provide her exciting and memorable experiences breaks my heart. I want her to have all the awesome memories I didn’t. She deserves it. Gofundme didn’t do anything for me. Just depressed and tired of being tired.
