Great interview. She's a sharp, charming woman. Her memoir was recounted on Radio 4 a few weeks ago (which prompted me to click on this clip). As a young woman she was married to Julian Glover when he was a spear carrier in the Royal Shakespeare Company. Although she sounds posh she certainly didn't benefit from any silver spoon and fell out badly with Sir Peter Hall who fired her a few times. I might read her book as I managed to miss some of the daily instalments due to work commitments (outrageous intrusion!).

Who is Eileen Atkins?? Only once I heard her name being so rude to Kathleen Turner.
She's a British actress, well known in Britain and has had a long acting career, but she is not as famous as Judi Dench or Maggie Smith because she has not been much in films or TV shows popular in America.
