On the evening of August 31st, 2013, a large crowd gathered at Parque Pies Descalzos in Medellín, Colombia. When Alan Parsons appeared on stage, along with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and his band the audience went wild. This is an audio visual document of that incredible evening.
THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT “Live in Colombia” is to be released on May 27th, 2016 on earMUSIC as a DVD, Blu-ray, 2-CD digipak, 3 x Vinyl, and download.
Alan Parsons was 19 years old when he landed a job at the world famous Abbey Road Studios, an important first step on his journey to becoming a world class engineer, producer and artist. Following his beginnings with George Martin and The Beatles, his contribution to Pink Floyd’s classic ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ earned him worldwide attention. As a producer he had many hits with Pilot, John Miles, Ambrosia and Al Stewart. Together with his manager and creative partner at the time, Eric Woolfson, he developed the Alan Parsons Project.
Following their debut album “Tales Of Mystery And Imagination“ (1976), they released a series of hit albums; namely “I Robot” (1977), “Pyramid” (1978), “The Turn of a Friendly Card” (1980), “Eye in the Sky” (1982), “Ammonia Avenue” (1984), “Vulture Culture” (1985), “Stereotomy” (1986) and “Gaudi” (1987).
Then Parsons and Woolfson called it a day, but Parsons had ambitions to perform the amazing music live. Now to the great delight of his fans, for the first time on a live video and audio recording, THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT combines the talents of his amazing band with the lush sound of a 70-piece symphony orchestra, creating a very special show with unmatched quality. Together, they revitalize hits such as “Eye In The Sky“, “Don’t Answer Me“ and “Sirius“.
The lineup consists of Alan Parsons on acoustic guitar, keys, and vocals, P.J. Olsson (lead vocals), Alastair Greene (guitar, vocals), Guy Erez (bass, vocals), Danny Thompson (drums, vocals), Tom Brooks (keyboards, vocals) und Todd Cooper (saxophone, guitar, percussion, vocals). Alejandro Posada conducts the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra

I'm a metal guy and i love this song. I remember this video so vividly on Mtv back in the 80's. You remember, when Mtv actually played music because the "M" stood for music back then.
MTV turned to shit!
YYYYYYEP! Me too. I totally get that
THESE LYRICS ARE AGELESS AND TIMELESS.
☺️😁👹
You simply cannot get tired of this song.
Absolutely ❤❤ the E minor chord
i agree
Shout out to Alan Parsons Project. It was just two days after the Pulse shooting in Orlando when I witnessed something incredible. It was them playing outside behind a bar in the parking lot facing a public street. Apparently the owner of this bar had ties to them and they must have dropped whatever they were doing that day to show up in Orlando as a tribute for Pulse. There was no fanfare and maybe fewer than 300 people even knew they were ever there. I was pinching myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Coincidently coming across one of my favorite bands of the 70's just a few feet away and in front of a handful of people! It was uplifting indeed. What a very special thing they did that day, trying to do their part for a town that was in shock.
Great stuff
Alan has always been a classy guy and he is certainly a very talented musician. It is great to hear of stories like yours about famous people who do good in this world without any fanfare!
I am so jealous!
This I didn't know. Thank you for telling us about it. Have loved them for nearly my whole life.❤
✊✊✊✊✊

Mario L I'm impressed, you really know your music! I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan! Ever notice P. F. influence in Queens Ryche? (Sp?)
Mario L Sorry, in Queensryche's Silent Lucidity.
Nice use of the word forged there

The Alan Parsons Project is one of two legendary bands that still are on my bucket list. Here's hoping some day to remedy that. Hands down, the most incredibly talented group to have ever performed in the 20th century.
Saw them last year in Durham NC. My favorite concert ever.
That drummer is SO intense!!!
SUPERBIO
I can listen to this song over and over and it's that's good.
Remember this like when it was first aired and the radio presenter this was apeice put together by a group of studio musicians who called themselves Alan Parsons Project but that couldn't be 40 years ago could it,oh my god that is ridiculous it sounds just as brilliant just simply gifted!!!
The strings, horns, vocals. Just superb.

Il y a quelques jours j'ai pris un taxi et il y avait cette magnifique chanson ❤, j'ai fermé les yeux et j'ai basculé dans le passé avec les merveilleux souvenirs 😢
No decade surpasses the 80's
A real creative decade indeed !
The 70's:🗿
@@ChrisMparbis @ChrisMparbis Never. The 70's was the worst decade ever. Only the stupid disco music and horrible fashion.
For any genre of music,it was the 80's hands down.
This song still slaps. And this music video was iconic!
This song really takes you back, where did all those years go, good job they were enjoyable .
That Sax solo at 2:42 beautiful.
Agree completely, absolutely beautiful !!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Back the song 80s i love it.
OMG I've not heard this song in 30 years. So many emotions running through my head right now...
And your heart...that's the beauty of music
It makes me think of what a Phil Spector/Brian Wilson collaboration would sound like!
I am 87 and really cherish this music. It makes the heart feel great. Lost 3 loved ones and this music is comforting.9/8/2021

Allan Parsons is a musical Genius!!
Best concert I've ever been. Absolutelly brilliant, a life-goal achievement. This concert was in Medellín, Colombia. The best of all is that it was FOR FREE!
That was a free concert? holy Toledo oh my goodness that is so awesome!
They were just fantastic last year in Denver, Colorado. I never get tired of their music. Amazing band.
I would have loved to have been there myself. I’ve heard him in concert, but not with an orchestra. What an amazing experience you must have had.
Hola Juanca...me encontraba por esos dias fuera del pais...mi hermano me comentó de la convocatoria para esta recital...creo que fue en el parque de las luces? Saludos desde Bogotá

Summer 2024 and still digging AP!!
I always loved the complex harmonies that sound so smooth and blend so effortlessly. Loved hearing this again after many years.
My favorite Alan Parsons song. A classic!
Wow! Can’t believe Alan Parsons will be 70 this year! Amazing how he is still so much like he was when APP started. All that creativity has kept him young!
age has got nothing to do with true talent, just cruel that people still think you are going to look the same 50 years later,l what do you want? Talent or looks
Alan es un encanto siempre luce joven y sabio
Y hoy su cumpleaños! Saludos desde Buenos Aires Argentina! Donde tuve la dicha de verlo en 3 oportunidades!! 👏👏👏👏
Tonight me and my girlfriend were in the Goodwill store in Southern Indiana at 6:30 on a Sunday night and it was snowing that song came to my voice when we came home tonight I pulled it up and I probably haven't heard this song in 30 years I don't know why it came to my voice but it did and I started reviewing some of these songs from the past when I was in high school in Clarksville Indiana what a fun evening
This song gives me the chills, 2020 and still sounds like new 😄😄😄, many memories of lost loves, always dreaming thank you!
You can say that again, gets me everytime and hoped I could turn back time!

1984..i was 17 when i first heard this song.fell inlove.
If you believe in the power magic
I can change your mind
And if you need to believe in someone
Turn and look behind
When we were living in a dream world
Clouds got in the way
We gave it up in a moment of madness
And threw it all away
Don't answer me, don't break the silence
Don't let me win
Don't answer me, stay on your island
Don't let me in
Run away and hide from everyone
Can you change the things we've said and done?
If you believe in the power of magic
Its all a fantasy
So if you need to believe in someone
Just pretend its me
It ain't enough that we meet as strangers
I cant set you free
So will you turn your back forever on what you mean to me?
Don't answer me, don't break the silence
Don't let me win
Don't answer me, stay on your island
Don't let me in
Run away and hide from everyone
Can you change the things we've said and done?
Don't answer me, don't break the silence
Don't let me win
Don't answer me, stay on your island
Don't let me in
Run away and hide from everyone
Don't answer me, don't break the silence
Don't let me win
Don't answer me, stay on your island
Don't let me in
Can you change the things we've said and done?
Don't answer me, don't break the silence
Don't let me win
Don't answer me, stay on your island
Flipping awesome. I was in my 20's in the 80's...brings back amazing memories ❤🎉
Great song. If you haven't seen the video, be sure to check it out. If it didn't, it should have won some kind of major award.
Si las lágrimas saltan de mis ojos...es porque están llenos de esta canción.
Love that drummer..such intensity ..awesome !!
Never knew Alan could sing and a tenor on top of that! Awesome!
Thank´s for oure music.
Greetings from germany, east.
Alan Parsons and Jeff Lynne were two of my favorite British composers who got me through 4 years of college. I got to see ELO but never got to see the Alan Parsons Project.
Mr. Moon: _"Thanks pal..."_
Mrs. Star: _"Twinkle, twinkle"_
I remember watching the music video for this song as a child (it was a Dick Tracy cartoon strip...) thinking how amazing it was - the vocals - the words - that saxophone... 5,000 years later (or so it would seem) it still manages to impress me.
ALAN IS THE BEST,HIS MUSIC COME BEASIDES THE YEARS,
THEY ARE ONLY NUMBER,"DAYS ATE NUMBER".
RIGHT TO THE END.
I have to say, That's a beautiful jacket he's wearing.

Every bit as genius as a Brian Wilson composition.
What a great song and what an excellent performance!
Just love this song! Since it came out.
SO THANKFUL FOR THESE VIDIOS..LOVE IT..
I still remember when this premiered on NBC's Friday Night Videos. [Does it sound TOO corny to say it was a simpler time?] It definitely reached me, at any rate.
I still tear up when I hear it.
Bellísimo 🤩🤩😍😍
This song is great for a chill. Can’t stop loving this
