    Quality over quantity is something my grandfather lived by. His line was “We are too broke to buy cheap.” Words of wisdom!❤

    • @sjordan7085
      @sjordan7085 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That inplies that that fine quality always costs more, that is false, buy used in excellent quality and pay a lot less for it instead of RRP. Almost everything can be bought used in next to new condition, by doing that, one has m ore money to spend on higher priorities.

    • @SpeakTruthBeKind
      @SpeakTruthBeKind หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sjordan7085Buying used items of quality is always best, repurposing - but even then you need to have done your due diligence (research) and read the 1 and 2 star reviews of an item. Sadly electronics appear to not be repairable - I bought a used Cd player good brand name ‘Sony’ which stopped working within months of my purchase and I was unable to return it since it wasn’t purchased new and had no warranty. Sadly a waste of money. Good comment though - best to try and keep items out of the landfill. 👍🏻

    The old kitchen towels - also bath towels, bedsheets and other bedding - can go with the pillows to the pet shelter.

      I've finally cycled out all my plastic containers. I have a few of those larder glass ones with snap lids for meals, but mostly it's all just upcycled salsa, jam, and pasta sauce jars. If I lose a lid or break a jar, I can just recycle the other piece and I know there's a free replacement on it's way within a week or 2. It is one of my personal favorite changes I made. They're just easier to clean, they're more sturdy and airtight, and they're already in my pantry anyways.

      My grocery store sometimes gives out free reuseable bags when you spend a certain amount, and I always decline. And I ALWAYS get the same reaction from the cashier. They look at me as if I've got 3 heads and say "but..... it's free".
      Yes, I understand the concept, but I have so many. I tell them to just give mine to the next person who's really excited to get a free bag, but it's always an argument somehow.

    Aldi has these wonderful fold up reusable box bags. They sit on a small section of shelf in my kitchen. Where I live plastic bags are still a thing. I repurpose those. I keep them in a thrifted Simple Human bag holder. I buy my quality items at thrift stores. I have found barely used high end items at thrift stores. Stuff that I need and use. I go through my towels every so often. I keep only what I need.

      I'm single and keep about 15. I keep one or two folded up in my purse to use if I just "run by the store". They are great to carry laundry to the laundry mat too. I like to use them to tidy up. I just grab one and start putting things that need to go somewhere else in the house. Then just put those away. This is great for a quick pick up too. I love that they are reusable, multifunctional and fold up when not in use. That saves so much space.
