Nice Video. Good thing you used a ball point pen to mark the frame. My first year as a beekeeper I pulled out a Sharpie Marker to mark a frame and they ATTACKED it. They really do not like that toxic smell from the marker. Something for people to know.

I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. When I started bee keeping last year I learned so much from you. I use your method of starter and fishing line. My girls are very happy that you showed me that. I only use plastic foundation if I notice my girls are drawing a cattie-wompes comb.

I am going to go back and watch this again and take notes. I learn more from you than any other channel and I watch many and enjoy them all. I wish you would do a couple of series that I have questions about. I wish you would do 2 series on "what it looks like, what it means and what do you do". The first one would be hive management. You examine a hive, telling what each frame is, [nectar, honey, pollen, brood, eggs, drones], then tell what that means and then tell what you do about it per hive ie:add a super, pull certain cells, change out certain frames, prepare for a swarm etc etc.. Then people could make a "flow chart" charting what they see in their own hives and what they need to do about it from someone with experience. The next one would be a "per frame, per hive", showing different types of bees really closely (they may have to be dead, I don't know) showing what each type of bee looks like close up and what different genetics of bees look like. There are so many different types of bees in one of my hives (that was a swarm we caught), I just don't even know if I am looking at different types of bees or different colorings of the same genetics. Since I know you do alot with genetics, it would be really wonderful to explore how different bloodlines {for lack of a better word} of bees look different from one another

Is it possible to make some money with bees if you don't have a lot of land, and just using your own backyard?

Looks like you're using the Guardian on your entrances. Do they work?

It's kind of like a guardian but I 3D print them myself.
I don't know if they work fist year trying them.

When you add a starter strip, can you add the frame in the MIDDLE of the brood nest, i.e., split the brood nest? Or is it best to compress the brood nest and place the starter strip just to the outside of the brood nest?
