    This was fun to watch. Short track oval is one thing, but I would like to see you try the Carburator Cup or Draftmasters series and get a feel of tight pack racing in the draft on a giant superspeedway. You don't know stressful until you're doing 180mph with cars surrounding you 6 inches away in every direction!

      Oh man I can only imagine! That sounds amazing! Are those races available with the D license?

      @@costangracing Carburetor is rookie and unranked like the Pickup Cup and was available in your video but you might need to get a car for the week. Draftmasters is D class and is ranked. All 3 of these series race bigger ovals wgere pack racing and drafting is required to keep up. They rotate the car and track every week but Draftmasters in particular keeps to the giant superspeedways like Daytona and Talledega where you never touch the brakes. Have fun!

      Ok thanks so much! It’ll actually be nice to hop into an unranked match just for a bit of practice too lol I’ll probably try and make a video on it actually lol

    I started iRacing intending to only do sports car racing and just hopped into an oval car just to check it out one night. That was a year and a half ago and I pretty much only do oval racing now. It is so much fun and so much more intense than the road racing, IMHO.
    These days I mostly race Tour Modifieds and the paved Sprint Cars. The open wheel oval cars are just 😘.
    Anyway, love the content man. Excited for more of any kind. You’ve got a sub here. Race on and be well!!

      Hey thanks so much! I have a feeling I’m going to really enjoy oval racing a ton too lol like you said i feel like it will be really exciting due to everyone being in such close contact. Can’t wait to hop back in!

    Man, this reminds me a lot of myself starting out on the oval. I find reducing the steering ratio can help you out and make the steering a bit less twitchy. That works a lot more on a bigger Super Speedway track but I have found it helped me on the smaller speedway races too. Nice job mate. Wait until you hit D class and drive the ARCA car. That takes some patience hahaha.

    • @costangracing
      @costangracing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ok sweet thanks! I’m definitely gonna have to try that out and see how it works. I’m super pumped to move up so I can try out some of the bigger tracks but like you said I imagine it’ll be real wild experience lol

    I see you're recording Oculus mirror, how did you get it to playback smooth?
    I recorded some ATS footage, and it's a stuttering
    mess. It's entirely illegible, worthless as footage. Can't figure it out.

    • @costangracing
      @costangracing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In the mirror tool if you click on the screen there will be a settings bar in the top left. In the settings there is a stabilization option where it smooths it out like in my video. The only issue is it crops in pretty heavily but it’s worth the trade off 100%

    • @commodorejones8044
      @commodorejones8044 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@costangracing Damn, I’ve noticed in videos there’s a settings tab. Not there for me.

    • @costangracing
      @costangracing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The only thing I can think of is making sure you actually click the middle of the screen to get the bar to appear or else it stays hidden

    • @commodorejones8044
      @commodorejones8044 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@costangracing Okay, so I found the settings, had to have the headset plugged in. Now I'm back to square one though, the game still records the mirror absolutely horribly. The playback, unfortunately, is still useless.

    • @costangracing
      @costangracing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do you know if the game stutters in the headset while recording, or is it just on playback?

    I love oval racing too, the chaos of the street stocks is so fun! 😂 I do hear a lot of people who use VR or have used VR say that it does make you nauseous, and you said that too. Why do you use it then? I'm purely curious because I'd like to try it too, but don't wanna because of the nauseous effects. 😂

    • @costangracing
      @costangracing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it was an absolute blast and I’m totally going to be doing more of that! As for the VR, I absolutely love it for sim racing! That being said I was someone who was super sensitive to the motion sickness early on. However if you do it consistently for short sessions after a week or two you get used to it and the sickness goes away entirely. The key is once you start feeling sick to get out of VR immediately and then try again in an hour or so because pushing through it will just make you want to die lol in this case though my “VR legs” as they call them weren’t quite ready for the hours of circling for the video lol I’ll bet the next time I hop in though I’ll be mostly used to it but the first time experiencing something new can be a bit nauseating lol So I would totally recommend it but be warned, it’s REALLY hard to go back to flat screen racing after VR lol

      @costangracing I race a 32 inch curved screen currently. After I get a proper 80/20 rig and get off my desk, then I wanna get a DD wheel and loadcell pedal set, probably Moza I think, and then it's gonna be a visual upgrade. So I need to figure out if I should go VR or triple curved. 😅 Of course these upgrades will be over a good bit of a course of time because I'm a hustling 16 year old living on a Caribbean island... but I've got this far!(G29, single curved monitor, new gaming chair, all Logitech peripherals, and just got a freaking awesome gaming PC![I was running a painful 18 FPS on iRacing, now over 100!]) Hustling definitely pays off! 😁
