In 1999 we bought a set of musical lights that had the exact same music as this. Those eventually broke, then 10 years later we bought another set of lights from B&M Bargains and they were the same thing, same songs in the same order etc... we still have the second set today.
I remember waking up on Christmas mornings back when I was 7 and 8 being so excited for seeing what toys I got and listening to these exact songs in the background… Those were very good times I wish I could re-live…
Sad that we cant go back to the past, and do everything we should did in past. Now only remain us the memories and time by time, all these memories are disappearing. And third. How smoother it sounds. I feel like they changed the computer chip. Now if you buy it it’s all the same. They stop using the chips from back then. I know it’s not the same thing. I can tell the difference.
I know right. Holiday Essence has changed their tuning for their Christmas lights. I know it’s not the same chip. If you looked at one of videos. The multicolor version was from Holiday Essence they had a lower pitch and had a totally different function. The lights flashes differently from back then. Back then these sets had a lower pitch. I remember I had a clear set back in 2015. It had the exact same pitch as yours. Years past and the pitch slowly started going down. It was weird. Now I brought my own set from holiday essence and it’s different. I had two sets. They were exactly the same. I know a store from the Bronx that sells the musical Christmas lights. But they don’t sell it since it’s not December. Am trying to buy a multicolor set from the company (Northern lights and trees) but their website is under maintenance for some reason.

It's known as a plain squarewave. A lot toys, cheap musical devices, and computers from the 80s use this kind of sound generator. I'm guessing a lot of musical Xmas lights like these use some sort MIDI based squarewave generators
The music has the that thing that sounds like old videos from the 90s back in the 90s people used waves type as square wave, triangle wave and circle wave. The music you hear In the video has a note like music note and those music note sound makes a wave wish it goes very fast and its called square wave I play piano and I can play all of these music I have these Christmas lights there are my childhood
You used to be able to find them on Amazon; it was called "Holiday Essentials Synchronized Musical Christmas Tree Lights" but I'm not sure if they still have them in stock. The ones they're currently selling are under the name "Hofert"

You have to either wire up a mono headphone jack to its speaker output or use alligator clips and connect it to the speaker terminals. I recorded these tunes by putting a microphone right up against its speaker. Going back to your question, it seems like no one has ever directly extracted the audio from this unit yet..
