I discovered his channel about a week ago and I've made watching at least one of his videos per day as part of my morning routine because of how calming his videos are. His voice, the plants, the editing, music...its all very soothing.
Absolutely agreed. I watch them all over and over again. I have tried to do my own plant thing - but about 50% of mine pass away. :( I'm not really a plant girl.
Being a subscriber for almost 2 years, I am so happy to see Him & Chris move into an apartment, to a home. His way of furnishing his own space gave me a lot of inspiration to decorate my own bedroom!! :)
I think pinning a vining plant up on the curved pegboard wall in the kitchen would look really nice! I was so excited to see you uploaded I've been binging your videos and love the atmosphere in them and learning about plants from you 🌱
Your new home and garden is so full of potential. It really is beautiful. I know it can feel overwhelming (because you have an outside garden too), but take your time. Maybe your dad can visit and give a few pointers iro the outside garden. You have a great mind and you will figure out everything. Enjoy!
It's *so* different to manage a garden vs houseplants. Yes, it's a larger scale. And I've found the lack of control over the environment to be both challenging and humbling. Best to you as you and Chris make that space your own ❤️
Oh Benji, it is gorgeous! I love the little glass entryway, and I would leave it as empty as possible. Let the glass and the light be the magic. Perhaps just your paludarium where the perfect fish tank is. I would have the big fish tank in your living room where you can really enjoy it. That tank is pure inspiration and competition worthy. In the dining area, I think a gallery wall would look amazing! But there is a lot to be said for having a mid-century modern buffet there on that wall. We always had one growing up. I loved it and they are perfect for storage. They are also fun to decorate at the holidays. lol. You are a little worn down from being so sick and having returned from a big trip and moving. Your creative juices will come back soon. I hope you both feel better very soon. 😘
There is so much you two can do with the beautiful space you now live in over time. It's going to be fun watching you come up with ideas and making them happen.
Hi Benji- per your dining room id suggest rotating your table so the chairs are perpendicular to the windows and that could free up more space for a credenza. Love the new place!
I also thought the same! For me, the credenza is typically parallel with the longer length of the table and having a similar height to the dining table isn’t bad, you can offset the size with smaller frames or artwork above it. Or if you get a lower height credenza, you can balance the height difference with taller and larger pieces of artwork/frame, maybe one big one or two max. Seeing his home gives me so many ideas as a design major 😁
I love the wooden buffet in the dining area idea BUT i also loooove the aquarium and the painting there... i love how it's all centered and a little minimal but still fun and fozy.
00:33: Long, deep sips of hot tea. Hope you both are well soon🫖☕️ 1:10: will you add chair pads? 10:17: Ohhhh😍. If you plant it, it stays with the property? If you plant it in a pot, it seems easier to move. 11:22: Home Goods has affordable, outdoor furniture 15:07: That would be a lovely tapestry or garden flag
Ugh this house is so gorgeous ❤ two ideas for the kitchen wall: either a big painting or wallpaper or like a vintage bar cupboard with a mirrored back wall 🤔 also I think a big rug would really pull the area together 😍 Also I think it would be really nice to have a camp fire in the middle of the amphitheater on chill summer evenings 🔥 Your videos and style is so lovely thanks for taking us along ❤
That cactus outside is a San Pedro cactus. It's not the variety of San Pedro that you can hallucinate with; it has a really low amount of mescaline, but it's a really good grower and turns into a really stunning specimen plant when mature. The flowers are stunning. I have a few myself
Benji!!! We've missed you, so sorry you were sick but are on the mend! Always love watching your videos!! Ideas for you could be: Entryway- your rudsta vivarium against the wall the aquarium is on and aquarium on top of that. Making use of the light instead of blocking. Dining room - media/console tables are a cool idea but so is putting your platycerium wall up where the painting is. Hopefully that stirs your creative juices for you? Also, the pegboard curved wall in the kitchen??? SO COOL! I'd be hanging so many cool plants from it!!
Benji, I love your new place. With so many windows, so much light is a plant lovers dream. I love that you have great outdoor area for gardening and entertaining your friends and family. I can’t wait to see what you and Chris will do with it. I know it’ll be great. Please start soon, I can’t wait to see what you do with garden Thanks.
That garden?!! What a dream 🥹 especially that amphitheatre, can’t wait to see what you decide to do with it!! It’s so nice to see you move forward in life and make a space your own, congrats on the new place ❤️🔥🌷
Such a cute house and garden! I just found your channel and I'm enjoying these calm plant vibes so much! Gardening can definitely be overwhelming... but if you want to start with something that's easy and good for the ecosystem, insects, pollinators and lil animals I'd definitely recommend starting with wildflowers native to your area as well as herbs and even veggies if you want. Native plants will also be resilient in your climate. You can look up companion plants that will support eachother for nutrients & pest control. I'd also recommend making a compost of some kind - they are actually quite easy and will make your garden grow like 🌸🌱🌞
HI there. The little room with so much light, I can imagine it being a reading corner, somewhere to relax when it's raining with maybe a rocking chair and a big plant of some sort.
glad to see you're feeling better benji! hope you and chris get back to 100% soon! thanks so much for the update vid, your house is coming together so beautifully ❤
So excited for your both (What an amazing place- it has so much potential!!) A couple of words of advise regarding outdoor gardening. 1) Study your lighting as it changes over the next two-three months (that will be a constraint for what you will be able to plant- looks like you are dealing with a lot of dappled light.??) 2) Buy a Sunset Western Garden Book and start to teach yourself outdoor plants and know your particular climate zone (and it's limitations). (You obviously have a knack for this with indoor plants- so it should come naturally for you.) 3) And most importantly feed the soil!! add (good well composted) organic matter at planting and mulch frequently (as the lower layers break down to humus I top dress with free shredded tree trimmings from a local tree trimmer) also "chop and drop" any green waste from your garden and return it to the soil-(nothing goes to the landfill!!!) (you are looking to reestablish the soil microorganisms there which is the foundation of soil fertility.) (Google Elaine Ingham Soil Food Web to learn more) Above all -have fun and don't be afraid to experiment.!!
My mom has had a ponytail plant in a pot for as long as I can remember.. at least a decade or two.. it’s always seemed really happy, and I think it was helpful for her to be able to move it around the porch/yard area to her liking. Also your videos don’t have to be anything big! For me personally (and judging by how the comments usually are I think many would agree) the reason I tune in is because I find your video style and demeanor very relaxing and cheerful. Whether it’s a little random video or a big tutorial, I enjoy them all :)
Interior designer here 👋 I definitely love the idea of some sort of sideboard in your dining area. You should frame your new blue tapestry and hang it on that wall as well. I like there idea of 4 chairs there for every day if you can store the other 2 for when you have friends over or something. I think a nice bench would work in that area you aren’t sure what to do with - is it a mud room area? The place is coming together so nice, love these updates!
I LOVE the aquarium on your dining room table! Leave it! Ah, now I see...the table is NOT against the wall...so yea, it will have to go somewhere else. Drats.
Thanks Benji for a great video. I like the red chairs and I agree that matching chairs is the way to go. Your plants are great and the outside garden has so much potential, just allow yours and Chris's imagination to flow and you will have a beautiful " tapestry " in your garden. Hope you both feel better soon. Cheers from Adelaide, Sth Aust.
Such a lovely little house ♥️ Looking forward to seeing you decorate it ♥️ A couple of suggestions to help with the garden: 1) Draw out your yard so you can visualise the space better, it will help a lot. 2) Move some of the bamboo over to where the lounge room window is so you can block out the view of the other house with green rather then with a big tv.
Hi Benji 👋 it's so nice to see you again. I'm so glad you're feeling a lot better. Chris get well soon. I like your home. Focus on one room. Therefore you won't get overwhelmed. I'm sure everything will come together 😊
Your house is really coming together. Love the red chairs! I vote credenza. I love the kitchen peg board. Hang plants, leave utensils in the drawers! 😊
Showing some love coming from the Philippines, I can still vividly remember a year ago how i was inspired to set up my indoor garden from watching one of your videos. Now i’m super happy you got a home with chris and theo, ai hope you can visit The 🇵🇭 soon
Your new home has so much character! We just moved as well into a 120 year old farmhouse on 18 acres. I related heavily to the slowness of unpacking. I am so tired of cardboard. With gardening, just start small. I brought all my raised beds and soil with me from the old house. It was a lot of work but has allowed me to get in a garden this year quickly while I work on all the other projects.
Sorry you guys are not well. Get better soon. I love the backyard. You have a lot of space for so much ideas. I had a hard time going from a 1/4 acre to a small townhouse. You have the opposite and can do so much with lights and fountains. Have fun and take care. Honey and garlic are a great combo for fighting off bugs!!
The house is cool and I hope you and Chris will happy there, do not worry about the garden start from the house and slowly work your way out. Also it is good to live there a while to see what the seasons bring, even though you probably have sunny weather all the time, not like here in UK.😊
Ohh I think the concrete bench pond would look amazing on this elevated area by your large window front! Thanks for showing us around, the property and house are gorgeous and have so much potential! 😍
I Love Benji and Chris and ofcourse Darling Precious Theo ❤🐾 I think a small little sideboard would look Fabulous on the wall in your dining area plus will add storage perhaps for your Fancy Dishes! Will be handy also when yous have company. Maybe a Lovely vase or something similar with red colours to correspond with your Pretty Red Chairs. Whatever you do with that spot it will be AMAZING! I LOVE THE WAY YOU DECORATE! I'm so very Happy and Excited for you guys! Lots of Love Sent your Way! ❤🤗🐾
My anxiety is really bad right now because I feel sick and I have emetophobia:( thank you for uploading even though you didn’t feel too good. Your videos calm me down so much and make me feel as if everything is okay again

What about turning the table differently? So it would be vertical to the window. That way, everyone sitting at the table will be able to look through the window. You could put some narrow shelves for an aquarium and plants on the wall or a big vintage art, maybe?
For some reason I didn’t think of turning the table lol. That’s a good idea I’ll try it out! I think it would fit the area better and give more room on the wall
i think a buffet would make the dining area too crowded, and either a tapestry or a large piece of framed art would look good on the wall. for the pegboard, it seems like an ideal place to hang your pots and pans. maybe go with all copper and black, and put some hanging plants in between. a ton of them probably won’t be ideal for cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, etc. for the garden, i’d say it’s a good idea to go out on hikes around your area to see how the flora naturally grows. using nature for inspiration will make everything look more natural and assures that the plants will do well in your area. i highly recommend looking into permaculture gardens, there are tons of great videos youtube. as for the rooftop, i think it would be nice to make it a cozy little area for you and chris to enjoy in the evenings, with edison bulb string lights, outdoor rug(s), and a hammock or some other kind of comfy outdoor seating. you could also set up a greenhouse to start seedlings and to sit inside of if it’s cold or rainy.
You’re so lucky to be that landlords tentant ! Most landlords don’t want you doing anything at all to the property or at least here in Colorado they don’t
Your “tapestry” is beautiful. A suggestion for your dining room wall is to frame the tapestry and enlarge the format with matting. You can pick up a large frame inexpensively thrifting so it doesn’t have to be too pricey. Also love the red chairs. Thanks for sharing. Feel better.
Your entire house inside and out is a conversation piece. I can see great future video content coming. That peg board in the kitchen is really a clever idea. Great area to hang herbs in pots, or any other plants. I'm sure you will come up with something creative.
Yay for california native plants! highly recommend salvia spathacea, asarum caudatum (for shade) for more sun: salvia mellifera, marah macrocarpa, ribes speciosa, asclepias fascicularis, and pretty much any manzanita. Great for pollinators, easy maintenance, and are so well adapted to socal. Can't wait to see what you do with your yard!
Hope your both better soon. Setting up an inspo board for what you both want in the garden is a great idea. Find your south/sunny n north/shade areas. How much time do you want to invest in maintaining. Consider setting up automated drip irrigation system. Staghorn ferns on peg wall😀
You could use the corner of the entrance as a reading corner. Maybe by putting a low bookshelf there with some cushions on it. Or simply a cozy chair and a small rug
For the curved pegboard, is it big enough to put all, or at least a lot, of your platycerium up there and make a new platycerium wall? That could look pretty neat. Or even some of your vining/hanging plants could go up there, and as they hang down they would make like a plant curtain, which could be neat too. ^_^
I'm really excited to see what comes next. So many zones with great potential, inside and outside the home. Love the red chairs❣The orientation of the table could be turned around so everyone seated has a view of the garden and gives more room for a lowline cabinet or oversized wall art along the wall. The pegboard could be fun with cute baskets and plants mixed in with art prints and/or meaningful objects.
Hi, Turn the table so the majority can see out of the windows. Cut those succulent/ cacti root them in a pot and put them on patio upstairs. Get some Bromilliad plants for the shady bits of the garden. Aloes do good in shade.
Yes! That’s a baby carrier. It’s from the Hmong, a small ethnic group in Vietnam. I’m Hmong & live in the US- I still carry my kids in the baby carrier.
Thoughts about your entry way: could you just swap the places for the cabinet and the aquarium? Have the cabinet against the wall, since it is taller, so it won't block your wonderful window? Then put the aquarium lower by the window? Or would that be too much direct light for the aquarium?
Remember to fertilize your outdoor plants too, so that they can bloom nicely Now that you guys have a garden you can get your hands to plants that bloom f.e. in different seasons..
there is nothing more calming to me then a Benji video😊
I discovered his channel about a week ago and I've made watching at least one of his videos per day as part of my morning routine because of how calming his videos are. His voice, the plants, the editing, music...its all very soothing.
@@professorgumede5559 Same!! i watch his videos over and over again hahah.
@My Cancer Journey thank you for sharing your journey. Please don't give up on your channel. You've got my subscription 💝

adding utensils or pots and pans with the addition of more plants would look so lovely on that peg board
yes I was going to say that hanging pots/pans would be a great idea!
Your new home and garden is so full of potential. It really is beautiful. I know it can feel overwhelming (because you have an outside garden too), but take your time. Maybe your dad can visit and give a few pointers iro the outside garden. You have a great mind and you will figure out everything. Enjoy!
i see a vining plant running along the pegboard!!! its like it was made for that!
The “amphitheater seats” would be the perfect spot for outdoor bonsai!!!
It's *so* different to manage a garden vs houseplants. Yes, it's a larger scale. And I've found the lack of control over the environment to be both challenging and humbling. Best to you as you and Chris make that space your own ❤️
He didn’t say “goodbye” at the end of the video! He always does that, and it’s become one of my favourite parts of his videos!
"I haven't really done much, because... I've been working on my taxes" 😭 the feels
Watching your videos is just so healing 💜
00:33: Long, deep sips of hot tea. Hope you both are well soon🫖☕️
1:10: will you add chair pads?
10:17: Ohhhh😍. If you plant it, it stays with the property? If you plant it in a pot, it seems easier to move.
11:22: Home Goods has affordable, outdoor furniture
15:07: That would be a lovely tapestry or garden flag

Also I think it would be really nice to have a camp fire in the middle of the amphitheater on chill summer evenings 🔥
Your videos and style is so lovely thanks for taking us along ❤
That cactus outside is a San Pedro cactus.
It's not the variety of San Pedro that you can hallucinate with; it has a really low amount of mescaline, but it's a really good grower and turns into a really stunning specimen plant when mature. The flowers are stunning.
I have a few myself
Benji!!! We've missed you, so sorry you were sick but are on the mend! Always love watching your videos!!
Ideas for you could be:
Entryway- your rudsta vivarium against the wall the aquarium is on and aquarium on top of that.
Make the room where you have the aquarium a little nook with a small coffee table and chair
That peg board is such a cool idea! I would use it to hang like pans or spoons or just any cute kitchen supplies. Such a pretty home :)
very lovely vibes! I absolutely adore your plants and you as a person!
Love your new home! Wishing Chris and speedy recovery, and you a continued recovery!
Sand paper the chalk and have Theo’s paw printed on the chalk board would be cute, Theo deserves to be an artist too
"the platycerium wall" might look good on your dining area wall
I'd also recommend making a compost of some kind - they are actually quite easy and will make your garden grow like 🌸🌱🌞
That peg board would be great for a vining plant or maybe airplanes because of the humidity from sink area .
Or a moss wall ? 😁
thank you for the update benji. i hope you get better soon
a little pendent light fixture over the dining table will just look so cute
Love the red chair choice. It makes the red in your framed art pop
the kitchen peg board is so exciting! so many possibilities! :D
HI there. The little room with so much light, I can imagine it being a reading corner, somewhere to relax when it's raining with maybe a rocking chair and a big plant of some sort.

12.04-12.05 is such a cool jump cut. Jumping closer to the camera. Such Wes Anderson vibes. You should do more of them!

I just discovered you today and i must say that this is already a comfort channel.
You are the best of my Sunday afternoon ❤
6:03 I think the peg board is for hanging pots and pans!
6:49 this wall seems like a good place for a large painting or a row (or 2) of floating bookshelves
loved the update. super excited to see how the garden and interior develop!

A microfiber mop would work great for stairs! Easy peasy🤗💚🌱
That house is so beautiful 🙌

A single floating shelf, the whole lenght of the wall, same wood color as the floor and table would look so good in my humble opinion.

For some reason I didn’t think of turning the table lol. That’s a good idea I’ll try it out! I think it would fit the area better and give more room on the wall
i thought that too, the table horizontally looks a bit awkward
i'd also use a more vertical artwork to match the width of the table and direct the view upwards :)
i think a buffet would make the dining area too crowded, and either a tapestry or a large piece of framed art would look good on the wall.
for the pegboard, it seems like an ideal place to hang your pots and pans. maybe go with all copper and black, and put some hanging plants in between. a ton of them probably won’t be ideal for cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, etc.
for the garden, i’d say it’s a good idea to go out on hikes around your area to see how the flora naturally grows. using nature for inspiration will make everything look more natural and assures that the plants will do well in your area. i highly recommend looking into permaculture gardens, there are tons of great videos youtube.
as for the rooftop, i think it would be nice to make it a cozy little area for you and chris to enjoy in the evenings, with edison bulb string lights, outdoor rug(s), and a hammock or some other kind of comfy outdoor seating. you could also set up a greenhouse to start seedlings and to sit inside of if it’s cold or rainy.
For the pegboard you could put hooks in it and let a vine trail along there
Feel better soon, some hanging plants and and vines will look great on the board, slowly you will get all done, take your time👍
💚🌵🌱☘️💚
🙏 Thank you for video. Hope you and Chris feel completely well soon.
6:55 I‘d say gallery wall, a big picture would be to „calm“ in my opinion (against the red chairs and so on
I'm a fan, watching you from the Philippines🇵🇭
I love your plants and I'm living alone too.
the garden is so interesting!!! I would love to live there as well.
This is my dreamhouse and dream garden, like fairytale and wild.
You’re so lucky to be that landlords tentant ! Most landlords don’t want you doing anything at all to the property or at least here in Colorado they don’t
you can totally hang pans and larger utensils like serving spoons on the pegboard
YES for the Inuyasha tee!!!!! Also hi Benji! I cannot wait to see what you have planned for this beautiful house! And the balcony!!! 🤩
I hope you and Chris feel better soon! Enjoy being able to take your time while you settle into your new home :)
Your “tapestry” is beautiful. A suggestion for your dining room wall is to frame the tapestry and enlarge the format with matting. You can pick up a large frame inexpensively thrifting so it doesn’t have to be too pricey. Also love the red chairs. Thanks for sharing. Feel better.
the fig tree looks so nice!
I love your new home! I can't wait to see how you and Chris cultivate the garden. I hope you both are feeling 💯 better now. Take care.
Your entire house inside and out is a conversation piece. I can see great future video content coming. That peg board in the kitchen is really a clever idea. Great area to hang herbs in pots, or any other plants. I'm sure you will come up with something creative.
The wall in the dining room could be the new platycerium wall!
2:32 my recommendation is doing a wrap around bench by the window so you can plop back and get sun reading a book or something
a funky wallpaper could look really cool for your dining room wall!!
The red chairs really work with that table!
I was thinking the same thing! That would look so cute with the platys up there.
Decorate your peg board at your kitchen with your plants. You can put the tapestry on a frame
It’s so nice to see your home coming together little by little! ❤ Thanks for taking us along with you through the process, Benji!
I have a mirror on the wall behind my dining table, it reflects the light beautiful and makes the room and table look bigger 💚
love the aquarium on the dining table
That IS a baby carrier! That’s so cool that you got that!
Hi,
Turn the table so the majority can see out of the windows.
I’m Hmong & live in the US- I still carry my kids in the baby carrier.
you can hang pots, pans and cutting boards with the plants, I think this will bring a nice colour contrast in the peg board about the kitchen,
The cloth you got at the end of the video is a traditional Hmong embroidered baby carrier! It would make a beautiful piece of art work 😍
Thoughts about your entry way: could you just swap the places for the cabinet and the aquarium? Have the cabinet against the wall, since it is taller, so it won't block your wonderful window? Then put the aquarium lower by the window? Or would that be too much direct light for the aquarium?
Oh I was hoping you would have content today. Hope your feeling better. I love your new space it has so much potential. The red chairs are beautiful.
Remember to fertilize your outdoor plants too, so that they can bloom nicely
Now that you guys have a garden you can get your hands to plants that bloom f.e. in different seasons..
