that Pho is some of the best soup I have ever seen in my life I would travel to Vietnam just to eat that . we have a Vietnamese restaurant down here where I live in toms River New Jersey but it's very good the quality is there but not the same as if you got it in the country of Vietnam . I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing us the goodness of all the countries you go to I have learned so much and want to try so much that I'm looking for restaurants around where I live or within 8 Miles to let me sample what possibly you are enjoying also. yes I want to try everything I've even eat maybe the testicles and the wanky if it's boiled perfectly the way you showed it one time so that's where my head is at . so thank you for educating us in many ways showing the cultures and the wonderful food this has been a gift to me . would you believe that I can go into an Indian restaurant and choose several things from the menu or from my memory appearing you and know what I am getting. is that cool or what once again thank you for being there and thank you for showing us the goodness of other countries peace, ☮️🇺🇸👍🍽️🥢✌️

Vietnam has the best cuisine in the world. The amount of fresh veggies and herbs in every meal is just insane. Look I love meat, but the combination of spices, meat, and veggies is just amazing. Plus Pho is food of the Gods. I love this Country.

@@MrSupernova111 It's hard to give a right judgement at which of nation's cuisine is the best. Since each nation has their very own unique cuisine that varied in hundred of types of dishes. The opinion of a group of people cannot clasify as which is the best of the world. Best cuisine must include variety of fractions such as: great taste, easy to be adapted by people from over the world (friendly food), cuisine diveristy, its meaning, good price, healthy, ying and yang balance, popularity, consuming amount ... Frankly to say, we cannot insist on which nation's cuisine is the best just based on some subjective judgement of some websites or private organization.
I definitely agree with you. Vietnam is the paradise of special foods in the world, let's come to see and enjoy your life here.

The Vietnamese Best NATIONAL DISH, PHO is LIFE! I'm not Vietnamese but I can eat Pho for breakfast, lunch and dinner EVERY DAY.
In Viet Nam, you can change 1 noodle soup every day in a month instead of eating Pho everyday, haha.

@@hoangphung86 Those dishes are for SOME Vietnamese, not ALL Vietnamese. My relatives are Vietnamese, and most of them don't like other dishes. The only 2 dishes they always go for are PHO & Bun Bo Hue.

1:40 I'm so glad you mentioned that! I came from Vietnam and I was overwhelmed by how expensive things in America are. A meal can be like 20k in vietnamese dollars which is just less than 1 USD!
Bo Kho with pho noodles is so underrated. All they are missing is chanh muoi(lime and salt pepper) to dip the meat.
Looooove that stuff. My favourite place has an egg noodle option, and maybe that's heresy, but it's really good that way.
@@lauriepenner350 nope that’s how some people I know eat it. Egg noodles are too heavy with that thick soup for me, but a little egg noodle does pair better with French bread!
It's "muối tiêu chanh", my dear. "Chanh muối" is preserved lime, from which you can make one heaven of a drink 😋.

Another great episode! About machine vs handmade noodles. My take is that the egg noodles though made by machine is technically still handmade since the people have to mix the flour and manually put it through. 😋
I agree. To me hand made is about the ingredients and not so much the process. Thick, thin, medium - you can get them all depending on the dish, so it's what goes into the noodle and then, what the noodle goes into to absorb the flavour.
Duck egg noodles are very laborious to make. Imagine kneading a hard rubber ball level of hard. You seriously will develop some kind of occupational disease from kneading duck egg noodles comparing with chicken egg noodles.

For the many years that I've watch BEFRS, I have to say that they do the best job in showcasing the food for what it is. Other food channels just have their host stuffing their face and not giving the viewers the full experience of the food.
I think it is very well balanced in this show, where you get a little bit of everything (food, taste, history, honest opinions and even jokes), Keep up the great work team!

As an American who eats machine processed food daily I prefer homemade but it's not going to stop me from eating duck egg noodles in a country I only see on TH-cam. All of those looked delicious!

I just visted hanoi vietnam! I love vietnamese food. Especially all the different noodle soup. Tried one noodle in crab broth, taste so good. Cant remember the name 😅 but i think i recorded the menu in my video.

You literally can't visit Saigon. It doesn't exist anymore. You can however, visit Ho Che Minh City.

I'm Thai and I want to try that Thai inspired noodle. The noodle look like our "Kanom Jeen" Which is actually Thai-Burmese (Mon) dish. With tomatoes in the soup and the needle mushrooms does "look" like "Nam Ngeao" which is northern style of soup for the kanom jeen. The original is using Ngeao flowers instead of the mushrooms. It does look alike and probably have close enough texture. But then, Wild seafood appears. Seafood is more of the central, eastern and southern part of Thailand. Fried fish reminds me of Hakka noodle which is inspired from southern China that's been adapted and become famous in Thailand too.
Overall this dish is an amalgamation of more than 3-4 cultures in one.
Surprisingly, There are no noodle look like that Thai inspired one in Thailand. But the following egg noodle with wonton and the stewed beef noodle are both available everywhere in Thailand.

The best part of this is these guys have found the golden key to places that us silly schmucks behind our screen in a majority of cases will NEVER EVER even come close to. But we can watch and dream and learn! And we can get inspired to leave the most worn down paths and aisles in our grocery store of choice close to home or even dare to go to town and buy some stuff we've never tried before but at least know the existence of now. I also love the respect and genuine curiosity about what people on a distant corner of our globe stuff their faces with.
