I don't understand why youtube algorithm has never introduced me to this AMAZING COVER???? I literally have to search and type for a nocturne cover until I saw your video thumbnail. Anyway, great job, sir. Somehow, I felt happy when I listened to your cover haha Good luck!! x)
I have to confess that at the beginning I wasn't expecting very much of this video. But I was clearly wrong. I can't believe how beautiful it sounds Amazing technique, I got shocked by your ability to make tremolos with one hand. I thought it was impossible so I used to play this piece on piano. Now I'm encouraged to play this on marimba, although it will be a bit more difficult
CLAYTON: GOD GAVE YOU A GREAT GIFT. KEEP ON THAT TRACK! YOUR WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC INTERPRETATION ON THIS FRÉDÉRIC CHOPIN HONORS THAT BRILLIANT POLISH ARTIST! THANKS FOR YOUR WORK!
oh my god this is amazing this young man found onother way to play a great song. this video brings joy to me to see a young man showing what talent and love he has for music i am very happy. young man if you do read this please countinue with what you are doing very amazing he is memorizing an amazing artist lovly ceep up the good work
everyone is saying that you did a “good job except you missed a couple of notes”. and that pisses me off because 4 mallet marimba is fucking hard coming from a percussionist as myself. so you did an amazing job.
this is extremely amazing. couple of wrong notes here and there when you reach with your 4th mallet but your left hand's accuracy overshadows that :). I'm also struck with awe at all the trills and small runs you did with just your right hand. bravo
holy crap. pardon my language but that was frickin awesome. even with 10 fingers I can't play it properly on the piano. let alone with 4 mallets. absolutely fantastic.
What the F .....you give me hope so good I know you would have to already know how to play that on the piano as well so that just blows my mind that you can play that on xylophone bro live long and prosper my brother
Beautiful!!! Having heard all of Chopins pieces I've often wondered how they would sound on the marimba. I must say they translate nicely (at least this Nocture does). Would be nice to hear the 2nd Scherzo on the Marimba. This was great.
en el 0:32 y en el 1:14 tocas Db-B y es Db-C. On 0:32 and 1:14 you play Dflat-B, and its Dflat-C. The rest, is just perfect, thanks for sharing your talent.
You are an excellent player. It is because of this that I would like to give you some advise. While I'm am quite satisfied with your louds, if you showcased the softs more by making them even softer, your performance would reach an even higher level. Try using more of your dynamic range. Also, this piece could really be enhanced if you were to use multi-tone mallets like the malletech stevens series. Mind these are not criticisms but just little things to improve upon.
Personally, as a percussionist, I believe that I would play this piece much slower and let the resonance of the keys be a critical element in the sound. Technique wise was impressive, but stylistically it needs work. I can see you've memorized it, which also is extremely impressive, but you've got to really feel it-- Like you're hitting the note because you want to, not because it's what the piece calls for. I was thinking about doing this for two mallet vibes, but really, this was good!
It actually can! If you've seen a piano, then you probably know what an octave looks like - the black keys especially. 2 then 3 then 2 then 3. Just like that. If you take a closer look at the marimba/xylophone he's playing, you would see that there are two and then three 'black' keys, the one on top of the 'white' keys.
To the 16 little haters who clicked "dislike": If you don't have anything nice to click, don't click anything at all. To Clayton: Exceptional work. Bravo!
I dont care about the few notes he missed, IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! NOW thats talent!!!
And, it is not an easy thing he's doing. Happy to hear that melody on a marimba! :)
That's how you know for sure he's not Vulcan. He might be half human, though, but not 100% Vulcan.

@ZamHalen94
This is my own transcription of the original piece. I omitted a few notes and adapted it for the range of the instrument.
Do you have a copy of the sheet music?
@@Soupisgood357 Look in the description :D

I'm actually living for the annoying intervals you nailed in the right hand

Though its better on piano because of the sound... this seems way harder to perform on the marimba. You really have mastered it.
Chopin sounds great on every instrument. The performer really did a good job,if there were less mistake notes, then it is a perfect work.
i've been listening to this recording for at least 5 years. amazing work
Thanks, glad you enjoy it!

Well not shit... I play piano. I just meant in the sense that with the marimba you kinda of have 4 fingers instead of ten. That's all...
You technique is so pretty! =D
