Like many of us watching, I simply did not want this video to end. I gazed in awe at my first Riva in Porto Azzuro, Isola d’Elba in the early 60s. Apart from Ms Sofia Loren, a Gullwing SL, both witnessed in Lugano, around the same time, I’d never seen anything previously OR since, which stole my heart quite so completely; compliments to everyone involved in restoring this magnificent icon. Particular thanks to the outstanding craftsmen & women who applied their extraordinary skills, patience & dedication, we are in your debt. Thank you to you ALL! 🙏🏼♥️

Who ever reads this. We don’t always need the brand newest of items when we already have ones that are here. We should spend our time on making the old new again, because at the end of the day, we only have a limited amount of resources, so reuse what you can, because the price of everything is always going up, and we are losing professional artistry. Tailoring Suits, Coach Building cars, Building extravagant wooden boats, all arts that are fading away simply due to everyone wanting something brand new. So if you do buy something new, hold onto it for as long as possible, but if you have something old, restore it, because someday, these will be looked upon with beauty and in reference to the new things in society

Congratulations ,thank you for sharing these wonderfull pic´s and movie´s.
These times, long ago ,must have been the time when real inventors like Carlo Riva created LEGENDS !
I was born in 1963 and i have seen these Boats nearly new when i was several times on vacation with my parents at the Lago Maggiore .
I used to sit next to the RONCO harbour of POROLI Boats Dealer .
I still get a goose skin when i recall the noise of the engines ,the wonderfull shape of the RIVA Boats ,the shiny chrome and all these details...................
I will never own one of these beautys, but i will stand at the lakes and will as often as i can enjoy the view and sound.
Maybe some time one of these luky guys will invite me for a short trip across the lake.
Thats one of the best things to do with all the money some people are hoarding.
And i won´t like to read a comment about saving the world with that money i just mentioned.
We all know that will never happen.
But just let the Mountain of money rise and rise without doing anything with it is stupid.
    Avanzare restaurazione RIVA Barca !

I was 16 years old and was buying the supplies I needed from Peterson‘s boatyard in Nyack New York.In one of the boat sheds sat this boat ,I sat in the drivers seat thinking I wish I had this boat . What a sexy boat ! One of the best Riva restorations I've ever seen, and of an iconic boat with tremendous historical value. And it smoothly and easily goes like a rocket - no wonder the guys are having fun !

    Hi,
There is no words than can convey just how magic and marvellous and the work skill and therefore the finished boat and engines in this one-off is. I am greener than green if thats possible with envy!
Thanks for the upload. Just one thing, I do not remember seeing the final drive before the transom, so being just an ordinary working man who has been invalided for 25 years, can you tell me whether this is driven by a propeller? I wish I could meet the artisans who built and renovated this, only problem is I cannot speak Italian, so it's a non-starter .
Take care and I am crying as I used to be good with my hands but just do not have the strength anymore to use the skills I had.

You could likely still build models of boats and stuff with wood and such. Smaller pieces cut and bend much easier. The skill to make the smaller pieces fit properly is still a high skill process.

If I had a time machine, that factory is where I would go back to. What skill, what passion for creating something amazing. I am a shipwright myself and that factory is my kind of heaven.

watching crafstmen at work especialy in an italian workshop is lke listening Toscanini conducting, the tools in that shop are ikethe ship being restored priceless.
In 1991 a RIVA was used as the floating carriage for the coffin of a neighbor of ours across Saranac Lake in the Adirondack Mts from its 35 year boathouse home to his grave site.Six gentleman sailors followed in another RIVA as his coffin bearers. As his coffin was lowered in to his grave hundreds of boat horns an sirens could be heard for miles around

Sorry for not speak english ... ;)
Choć brakuje mi doświadczenia , to będę szedł w tą strone , by wam dorównać, bądź was przegonic w perfekcji :D i stworzyć taki zespół jak wasz ;)
    Pozdrawiam, Łukasz z Gdańska.
Trzymajcie tak dalej , a świat dzięki wam będzie ciekawszy !!! ;)
