You can still drift manual without clutch. However, it prevents you from being able to perform a clutch kick. An important technique in advanced drifting ;)

Most of the time you should just tap. Use your judgement on how long you hold the E Brake and Clutch :)

With drifting it is all about balance or power to weight ratio. Most of my drift cars hover in the mid to high S class range with about 500hp/400ft lbs respectively and are pretty light. Hope that helps!
ha don't worry about needing clutch, I don't use clutch but did in the past it's just another button to hit. As far as clutch kicking goes locking both the front and rear wheels or "Death Sliding" by hitting the left trigger "brake" and A "E-Brake" at the same time will do the same thing, as far as advanced drifting goes i've hit 86k RWD on Maple and I don't think TC9700Gaming has, so just thought I'd set that straight

@superjoserra98 I'm afraid not. You should master manual transmission driving before you start drifting.
There is no drift mode to be exact, but there are drift lobbies, but in order to properly drift, you have to make a car, with the right tune set up, or else if you have lots of power, you are just simply power sliding.
You are not so good in drifting in my vieuw.. But you explain how to drift in a great way ! You got my respect for that ! Clear voice, lots of details and so .. When I buy xbox live again, we should drift together, I think I win in forza but you win in all the rest haha, great vid !

AWD Is just harder to maintain a consistant drift. Pretty much all your initiations have to be with the E-brake. Some AWD cars (like the Nissan GT-R R35) split the power 20/80 or even 30/70 Front/Rear so you can still drift them but, it still requires some higher skills. In the end though, it is all about what you are comfortable with and ultimately what you have the most fun doing!
Having ur ABS Off isnt really needed. With the abs on it makes it a lot easier to pull speed entries and correct yourself when you are about to spin out. *btw a low HP 86 is the best learner drift car
its a good vid. and many can learn to drift by it, but if you is in 2 gear its a lot harder to drift big and corners the best gear is 3, cause the you can do small and large corners. but you have some great details and you are good to explain. its a like for me :)
Try lowering the power to about 650 BHP :)

Turn into the corner.. Hit the E Brake and clutch when the car starts to slide.. Counter steer (Turn into the slide) and balance the throttle and turning angle

yes i drift with e-brake but slow down before drift with normal brake.
the AWD car seemed easyer to maintain for me because i couldn't get the RW drives to stop spinning out on me half way through the drift the whole care would turn completely sideways then backwords.
with the AWD i didn't have that problem it was some AWD with STI in the name

if you want to tune your car make sure its awd then change psi to 28.5 and camber to i think positive .7 it mite be negetive im not sure but then put the toe out to .2

I prefer drifting in on automatic but now you've made this Awesome video you have inspired me to try and drift with manual/clutch. If you can, could you make a drifting tutorial with automatic.

you have to be online to have that option and thats for a drift lobby but you can change your setting to make it so you can drift .
so should you give throttle even when you are hitting the clutch + e-brake?

Forza 4 Is the most Fairy-annoying game ever, u should treat T10 as Ass holes there's nothing to Beg through, u better go back home drift ur F**king 26B Mazda MX5.

then....
there are two different ways you can drift,i call it E-brake im not sure what one you ment when you said handbrake.
you can just tap/hold E-brake to initiate the drift (for a second depending on corner and speed)
the other way is to...okay say,the corner your turning is left so you'll be in the middle of road you'll turn right then swirv left causing the momentum of the car to shift as well as the weight. reply for help :D
I haven't used it much but maybe I'll give it another go :)
I just use cars that have under 300HP like the rx-7, which of you dont mod too much its a great drifter. Low power cars are more forgiving.

maybe go to like 400hp. That's a great amount I find. over 500hp is just overkill

it's easier in a small japanese car with lower HP like an Silvia S13, AE86, or 240sx. and then eventually start tuning. A stock 600hp car isn't going to help them learn.

Why do you need to use the clutch when you are about to drift? Does it matter if you just use the manual without the clutch?
The rmr genesis is a great drift car even when its stock from the store
E-brake is the handbrake in American terms
do u play on configuration 10 for ur controller? cause i think that makes it the most realistic, cause u can control how much u pull the e-brake and how much u push down the clutch pedal with the right thumbstick, and your b,x and a button are the camera buttons

The reason you are spinning out is because you're trying to hold to much angle. try less angle and slowly add more.
I hate to be like this, but I know of a car that you can drift with more ease than the ZR1, and it only has 167 hp when its upgraded and tuned for b class drifting, and its great at circuit racing against A class cars.
im doing this with a Nissan 370z with over 800bhp. i did your step by step for how to make a drifter and i still can quite get it. is it because of the amount of horse power or do i just suck as a drifter?

i did drift in GT5 but in the C63 AMG with 800 HP

would be much easier if you had telemetry on so we could see what you mean by 'e-brake'
RWD, AWD is really hard to keep on the track & dont even think about FWD, its impossible to do REAL drifting in a FWD car, manual is better for drifting because if you drift with a controller its pretty hard to shift with the clutch while your in the middle of a drift
