      May be Coach is made in China, but to me they offer a very good ratio price/quality and it's a shame for the made in Europe high end brands who only deliver crap.@@oldpalmcity

    "luxury" is disappearing in front of our eyes. I'm holding tight to my vintage items and focusing on buying quality now instead of labels. Also found the alternative of "custom made" by hand

    Versace fits right into Tapestry - you want a group of labels with different aesthetics, not all American sportswear inspired, that way you appeal to a larger audience. And Chanel was always French/British in origin, the tweeds are British, Coco was an Anglophile.

    • @SuperDacob
      @SuperDacob  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Incorrect. Coco was not anglophile in origin. She became it die to external circumstances later on.

  • @sams3015

    I like the name Tapestry for a conglomerate made that focuses fabrics (ie fashion items) imo. Kering on the other hand is a name I never liked, it reminds me of Carotene & I always think of carrots & haircare when I hear it 😂 🥕 🧴💆🏻‍♀️
    P.S Capri Holdings also own Jimmy Choo & Tapestry also owns Stuart Weitzman

    LVMH bought Tiffany, an American company and imo ruined it, prices are now out of control and they drastically increased collections like Schlumberger's, it's sad as I used ro shop there often, no mas! I remember seeing Versace walking around in south beach back when south beach was empty and no one cared who went where, he absolutely adored South Beach - xx

    Dacob, you tugged at my heart with ❤ this segment.
    Miami is my hometown and I was in my early twenties when Gianni passed.
    He lived right down the road from The News Cafe and was a regular at the news stand.
    He used to go buy his magazines right next door.
    We all knew who he was and loved seeing him and saying hi..
    Even though we all knew who he was, No one bothered him, he was just our neighbor.. And we were all in awe.. Of him, his creativity and his home the magnificent ( Casa Casuarina - I don’t know if that is still the name) .
    Anyway, those days were glorious and I love your take on this.
    America, is a country built on immigrants.. Creative giants like him are the best part and he was as SOBE as he was Calabrian at the height of his creativity.Those were the days.. 🎉
    Thank you for reminding me of that..

    All of these big corporations are swallowing up these fashion houses, cutting corners on quality, stripping the respective brands of their identity, and raising the price of their items. Luxury isn’t synonymous with good quality like it used to. Even a lot of the ready to wear from luxury houses don’t interest as much. I look at smaller designers/up and coming designers.

    Tbh for me the era of Versace ended in 1997 with Gianni's passing. Still there's no comparison between Versace and Coach even today. I don't understand people's fascination with Coach :most of their designs are rip offs from other brands (LV, Mulberry etc etc)

    I've always loved Versace! I think Michael Kors originally bought Versace under his name but then decided to create Capri because his name was too known and they wanted an umbrella since they also own Jimmy Choo. They said Donatella kept creative control, but I find it funny how after they were acquired, they started making cuter bags. Prior to the takeover, I thought the only product Versace failed at making were cute handbags LOL. Now as tacky as a lot of them are, I find them much more covetable. I think all of these brands fit each other very well. Really nice quality at non-ridiculous prices. Even Versace is cheap compared to the other designers. I hope this stays a constant within all these houses. I think Tapestry is a cute name too. Kering Group and LVMH sound exactly like large evil corporations ready to takeover the world ROFL.

      Donatella might have specific clauses in the sales agreements and contracts that might stipulate how her involvement remains or doesn’t remain in the company but we do not know that since as far as I know, they have not openly disclosed their contracts and agreements. But since Donatella still exits to greet all the audience after each Versace show, I would think that she still has some form of artistic directorship over the collections but I have no clue how far her power reaches over the current Versace brand. 💖

      Clemens would be awesome at Versace 🥰

    I am a big fan of Versace because they make larger sizes that I can actually wear. #ChonkyGirlProud Maybe that has to do with it leaning more American?

      @SuperDacob  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe it has to do with the American market but also, its just clever to offer clothes in all sizes which include all people 🥰💖

    The UK is still Europe - just not in the European Union - still in the continent though. Love ya Dacob!❤️

      Thats exactly what I meant. Except… its the brits themselves who always say they are going to the continent when crossing over to the EU… so its their word, not mine… they separate themselves from “the continent Europe” in more than just politics and economy… 💖

    What you said about the UK not being European is not true. It may not be part of the European Union but it is still part of the European continent just like Switzerland, Norway, etc.

    • @SuperDacob
      @SuperDacob  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nobody said its not part of the geographical part of Europe but legally and politically its no longer Europe and thats that. The geographical position will not help you when you will need a visa to enter the political Europe.
