I explore a high-profile case regarding a company who is outspoken about employing an AI artist and paying a huge sum. Is this a new opportunity for AI artists to take over artists' jobs?
This video is a guide and call to action for creatives and artists to use AI as a tool. I discuss how AI can empower you to enhance your creative processes and why mastering these tools is crucial for future success.

Evan, thank you so much for creating this channel. The timing is so good for me, as I’m an independent animation producer and I’m starting on a journey of creating my first feature… At first, I thought of using AI for designing the protagonist, but I wasn’t aware of how much AI could benefit me. Just an hour ago, I learned from a friend about a platform called Invokeai and I’m a noob trying to learn it. I’ve just checked your channel and seen that you have used AI for creating an ENTIRE comic book and that blew my mind 😮 I’m anxious to watch it. But regardless please keep making more content on AI so that I can become an AI beast. PS: I intend to use AI only for concept art, maybe storyboarding, colorscript.

Hello Lucas. Sorry it took me a while to reply. Life's a grind for us creatives, you know how it goes. I've read your comment a while back and I'm curious to know any updates regarding your progress. I'm launching an AI comic creation course soon and I'm curious to know more about the interests of storytellers like you.

@evan-ezquer Hey bro. Thx for reaching out. Well, I've immersed into invokeai for the past 7 days and, honestly, I'm very frustrated with the results by far. I still can't use the platform really well. I have little domain over its functionality. I feel like I've wasted hours of my time. I'm still trying to create my character, but ai struggles to give me outputs that match my desired ideas.
Invokeai is nice because it's free.
I used Juggernaut SDXL by now.
I also tried openart. It was even worse.
It's sad. In the end, in order to make the outputs I got useful somehow, I brought parts of each output together with Affinity Photo and got some kind of Frankenstein. At least, I got something. Character in Front view, full body, A-pose.
      I'm not satisfied though.
I simply want an 8 pose turnaround, hand drawn.
Well, this is it. I have given up. I have even deleted Invokeai. I'll reinstall it right now. Could you shed some light here? I'd be very thankful.
      Regards :)

@@evan-ezquer actually invokeai is really good. It’s free. Unlimited. It’s awesome. The problem is I’m anxious. 😂

I wish the companies would give the creatives royalties.

On that we agree. I also think that people who make money using AI art should be imposed an artist tax. There needs to be an agency that handles its distribution to artists all over the world. I think that's a more viable solution to strive for than cancelling AI art, which we both know is impossible.

@@evan-ezquer Adobe proposed a tracking method that checks if an image has been altered using either Photoshop or Ai, so the data of the image is in the meta data. Basically the concept was if the image gets edited in any way the tracking starts and if it gets uploaded after an Ai edit it will be shown in the user's post that was edited using Ai and whose art was used in the edit.
I think this solution is perfect cause they're many artist who have always had their art labelled don't reuse my art or use it as a base, those artist will now be able to defend that right cause now people will know whose art was used to make the art.

@@evan-ezquer I think all A.i art platforms should do what GAN Breeder aka FaceGen does, it shows the images that were used to create the art and who uploaded and or made the images, this way you can easily spot wrong doers who upload copyrighted content. Cause most people lie saying A.i specifically needs copyrighted artworks which is a viscous lie used to unethical individuals. I say this because
      1. People could alternatively train their A.i on non-copyright work that's in the public domain
      2. People could make their own photos, drawings and paintings to train their A.i, never met a person who can't draw a stick figure on their own, and never met a person who can't take a photo. Anyone saying they can't is a lying thief who should be banned from using Ai art platforms and most aspects of the internet for the safety of humanity.

what Adobe is doing is admirable, and I agree with you, their solution should be replicated by more platforms. However, this works better for AI models you build with this intention in mind. Models that were previously built using copyrighted material (which is most), it's harder to build a tracker. I've seen some developers trying, but false positives are too common with trackers.
The solution I'm proposing, which is to tax those who are earning income from AI art, can work across any platform even those that use copyrighted material. And artists who create original works can earn passive income by licensing their works to platforms. It's a win-win. The challenge then would be the distribution, which i think is an easier problem than building a tool that tracks the use of AI in media.

Artistic jobs don't disappear overnight. But they DO disappear. Photography largely killed portrait and landscape artistry. Digital art has managed to coexist with physical mediums, but still largely outnumbers it. And AI is not even art and already is pushing artists of all other mediums out of their jobs.

    • @evan-ezquer
      @evan-ezquer  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

People still paint portrait and landscapes to this day. Let me ask you something. If Picasso were to use AI as 1 part of his process, would that take away the artistry of what he makes? I dont think so. The reason people are hating on AI art is because they are pissed when non-artists use it to create instead of commissioning artists. But what if over time more artists start to incorporate AI? Many already do.

@@evan-ezquer I believe I see your point. And I also believe this will become an accepted tool for creating art. Still, there is a lot of understandable anxiety out here.
Personally, I'd much rather have a hand painted landscape, or portrait, than a generated image printed on canvas.
