Zelensky singing and dancing in front of an enthusiastic Solovyov seems like a parallel dimension that just crashed into our universe. Simply unbelievable.
At the time it was the other way around. At that time, the Solovyov cheered war of Putin's Russia against Zelenskyi led Ukraine, was an unbelievable parallel dimension. We are in the wrong parallel universe.
Roman, I've been watching you since glorious MLG days. As a Ukrainian, thank you for showing the world the dumpster fire Russia has turned into. As a random kid on TH-cam, thank you for years of entertainment. Stay safe, man
Russia has everything it needs to be a prosperous nation like Germany or Japan. They could have one of the highest standards of living like Switzerland or Norway. But no, they have chosen another path.
@@RandomDudeOne Russia as a nation personifues a bully who's alone and jealous of everybody else. But instead of being self-critical and reevaluate themselves, they blame everybody BUT themselves for their own sad existence.
On behalf of your Russian audience, I would like to thank you for showing the world that not all Russians are crazy, Roman. I'm happy that there is a Russian who doesn't support all this horrible shit, who is able to speak decent English and express his thoughts and feelings regarding current events in such an eloquent manner before an English-speaking audience on TH-cam. You do a very important thing: you make sane Russians to be seen. Nowadays it's hard to believe that we exist.
It's hard for westerners to believe you exist because you don't. Russians alleged to oppose the war are invisible cowards. They don't complain, protest, march out, speak out or do anything other than act passively in a manner that clearly assists Putin. As Elie Wiesal said "Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented." Once any so-called Russian opposition develops backbone and acts in a similar manner to Iranian schoolgirls perhaps the west will recognise there is indeed some opposition within Russian. But you don't. And there isn't. Until such time you're all the same, either supporters or silent enablers.
I think the rest of the world all knows you guys are there, and we understand you are a victim in this situation too. It's completely unfair what the leadership of Russia is doing right now - and you can be guaranteed, whether Russia was to win or lose, it wouldn't improve life for the majority of Russians afterwards. I hope that when peace is restored that Ukraine and those sane Russians who exist can work towards a peaceful future together, but I think this would involve the complete collapse of Russia as we know it.
Bless your heart. Please remember this is a war against tyranny, not one against normal Russians. Frankly, the average American cares more for the Russian people, than the Russian government.
The Zelensky-Solovyov scene basically looks like some kind of end credit of a video game/cartoon where all of the characters regardless of their roles singing the song together, given the current situation
It would have truly been an end credit scene if Putin got up there and started to break dance. Then Ursula von der Leyen followed with the macarena. Then Jens Stoltenberg stood up and did a backflip. Then a bunch of the actual zombies you had to fight in the swamp stage of the game came in and did Michael Jackson's Thriller.
As a European, I can confirm that I did freeze to death in the winter. My body was never buried because everyone in my country froze to death and there is no one to bury our bodies. Truly a tragedy.
As a European I can confirm that I did NOT freeze to death because starvation got me long before the winter. I wish I migrated to Russia, I could have avoided this tragedy.

What do you mean why this is unbearable? My favourite ice-cream was sold out!

Europe is having a pretty mild winter actually. Some places in Romania even recorded 20C this month so it looks like even nature disagrees with them...
The winter has been very mild even here in the northern parts. And it doesn't make any difference any more as the gas and electricity network has been adapted with extreme speed - there really is no need for other energy other than what is normally bought from global energy markets. (Germany and the UK seem to struggle still somewhat but in the Nordics all energy prices are lower than in a year.)

As an American who has been studying Russian for years it is very bittersweet to see Solovyov dancing to Zelenskiy singing. You're spot on in saying this is the Russia we lost. I really wanted to visit Ukraine too and figured knowing Russian would help. Now they don't want to speak Russian and the ones who speak it as a first language are starting to switch to Ukrainian. Russia could be so cool if only they let their people be free. They make badass rap music and their gov just censors it when they could use it to make people love Russia. Such a shame.

Wmds in Iraq??? 500 000 dead Iraq children was worth it? according Madeleine Albright
The thing is Russia needs massive introspection, about itself and it's views on how they see the world. First of all, you need to understand that Russia suffered worst due to Mongolian, French, Swedish and Nazi Germans to develop an extreme paranoia with the belief that the world is out there to colonize and enslave Russia because of its extensive resources, many of them still not discovered. So, while the Baltics joined NATO out of their own will, Russia sees it as NATO encroaching near their boundaries. That's why, it keeps threatening Baltics to somehow make Baltics fear for their safety. So, I don't know what can be done to get Russia out of that paranoia because increasing NATO deployment actually didn't help to secure Russian regional security concerns. Second, people really don't realize that while West is busy in liberating Ukraine, Russia actually is increasing its presence in Arctic. Recent reports show Russia deploying nuclear class submarines and ships posing as ice-cutters there. In short, Russia pretty much controls Arctic. The real war is actually coming and it will be over Arctic.

This guy is a traitor who turned on his phone own country to be liked by westerners. If he was a Georgian making these videos on Georgia you would hate him
A rather strange and self-deprecating position. When a citizen of any country says that "thank you to everyone outside my country that does not treat me like shit," it sounds ridiculous, because initially there are no prerequisites for this, unless the person himself is shit. It is quite difficult for a normal Russian to be in Georgia now. I was there on vacation in the summer, and Georgia has changed a lot, prices have increased enormously, the attitude towards Russians has become lower than the baseboard (if compared with what it was a year or two ago). A rather strange attitude towards people who want to relax or live there, spend their money there, but to hear rudeness and dislike. Neighboring Turkey and Azerbaijan are still more comfortable in this regard (cheaper and quieter), not everywhere, but still.

Even in my country I meet people that should know better but somehow believe Ukraine is the bad guy. They say "there are no good guys". (Okay, if there are no goodguys then are there no badguys?) They complain about Zelensky getting person of the year, about all the money going to Ukraine (well it aint going to Afghanistan anymore now is it?), and saying "there are no good-guys". These people have conservative convictions that are unfortunately turned to the wills of others (pundits and putin) that pretend to have the same values. Conservatism here struggles to not suffocate on the hard pushed liberal propaganda ideology the six ( I know, only six right?) media companies and academia/scientific community, so conservatives flock to anybody that is anti SGW or anti LGBT or anti woke. I have heard such harrowing stories about what Russian forces have done in Ukraine. I really hope these naZis will be driven out of Ukraine AND Russia after that. Такой ты молодец, Роман. Всего тебе хорошего!
As a ukranian who has been living in Italy all my life, i got an opportunity to help my ukranians people and teach their kids italian and help them to adopt to the italian culture and environment. This was actually pretty nice for both me and them, since they liked it.... but what i found interesting is that even kids from eastern ukraine, like donetsk and mariupol are pretty much patriotic, all of them were patriotic, they would sing songs and the ukranian hymn daily.... even i am not as patriotic as them (even tho they were the same age as me when i first came to italy) still this is pretty interesting, this war has united ukranians more than ever...
Sorry to butt in with a random ass comment but I find it funny how you're Dutch and your automatically generated avatar has the letter A on ORANGE background lol
It's actually way too warm for winter in the northern parts of Germany. I slept with my window open last night, as it was 12°C. We had like half a week of frost and a bit of snow, and otherwise pretty much autumn-weather.
Watching that New Years celebration was painful. I'd imagine it's what it would be like in America if Fox News took complete control of the culture. Also: "Mom said it's my turn on the Xbox!" had me rolling
Sometimes when I watch these videos, I feel as if I was looking into some kind of mirror of Hungarian government propaganda. It's not that extreme yet, but the parallels are more than scary and sad. Even, in November of 2021, Orbán joked about Western Europeans freezing to death which... didn't age well.
As a Brit I can't help feeling after all this Russian shit is over Hungary, as a supposed member of the EU and NATO, is still gonna feel a backlash from other Europeans over it's apathy to Ukraine and tacit 'support' of Russia. i already feel there's little difference between Serbia and Hungary,@;£ I'm not the only one who feels so. @@GrantW01 -7c to -10c in Helsinki today.. though, I had to dial down the thermostat because we're on municipal central heating so it's good to save some energy for someone else.. it's hot enough as it is. The hot water comes from the coal power plants, they circulate the excess heat through the city that works as a heatsink.. much cheaper than electric heating. If you have electric heating the indirect water circulation system is "better" because you can heat up the water in night time when electricity is cheapest. If you have direct heating you only store the heat in the air inside the building but it's not nearly as efficient as storing the heat in liquid. A heat pump (aka. air conditioner) is slightly more efficient since you are not converting electricity into heat but transferring it, funny fact: even if it is -20c outside, there is still heat you can transfer to inside with the heat pump. The cheapest (to operate) is to drill a deep hole.. then pump the heat from underground, the ground is already positive temperatures 2m deep.. but deeper hole, more heat.. just pump it out of the ground and heat your house. Drilling that hole plus equipment will cost 40-50k euros, though.. TL;DR worrying if Nordics will manage in Winter is wasting time.. hehe..
As a Latvian, i can say that the gas situation has impacted our lives quite badly, we have huge inflation, and very expensive comunal bills. Goverment can only give minimal support, so i can imagine people without savings having a tough time. We are acutally in full saving energy mode...But in the end it's worth it, because we show solidarity with Ukraine.
Energy markets will improve. With the Russian situation, they were thrown off balance. Temporary. Keep doing what you need to. Things will be better next winter.
As a Latvian You are also member of EU and can take cheap flight ✈️ to any southern EU country to enjoy cheap food and warm weather. We call it "Putin holidays" . There are thousands of people doing it and having really great time. And as You say, it is all still worth it, such crisis could hit us from totally natural causes, f.e. exceptionally long or harsh winter, oil tanker crash, earthquakes or fires on oil fields, etc. etc.
Roman, this is one of your best ones!!! B.t.w., I‘m sitting here in Germany in my warm heated apartment with our national gas storage at more than 90%, since we are now buying LNG from all over the world, except for Ruzzia. It feels so good to be finally independent from this terror regime. Just because we were dumb and ignorant enough to build Nordstream 2 and keep buying Ruzzian gas after 2014, doesn‘t mean that we aren‘t able to learn and to adapt to a new reality. Ruzzia, you are the new 1930s Germany. So sad. History repeating ☹️
Not really. Russia doesn't send people to concentration camps to gas them in the showers or burn them in the ovens (what was it? 6 million Jews and more than 10 millions Slavs?). Trying to capture parts of another country and having limited free speech is very different from what the 1930s Germany was like. It's very different even from the USSR times and Nazi Germany was way worse than the USSR in several aspects, racism being the main one (yeah, yeah, the USSR had its share of racism but it was on the same level as the US, maybe even less).
If Germany is so fair and peaceful, then how do you explain the words of Merkel who said that we knew from the very beginning that the Minsk agreements would not be implemented, we needed to buy time to prepare the Ukrainian army. It turns out that Germany, France and Ukraine simply deceived Russia. Pretending that they are striving for peace, in fact they were simply arming Ukraine. This is level 90 hypocrisy.
I especially like the heating museum "joke": There is actually already a "heating museum" in Vienna. It shows the history of heating and how complicated, big and dirty heating used to be. Sometimes also beautiful, with elaborate stoves custom built for restaurants etc. but it mostly shows the advancements made in heating in order to have a cleaner, more efficient and more climate friendly society. And, yes, the plan already was that in the future gas boilers will only have its place in museums like that, to show the outdated historical heating methods and their shortcomings. Thanks to Putin this time will now come faster.
As a Ukrainian growing up watching this f*cking show every new year with Soviet brainwashed parents, and as much as I hated and cringed on this show, I feel you. Looking at all these people and hearing all these inhuman jokes just makes my blood boiling

BTW No one is having problems with cold here, maybe just someone lowered the temperature by 1 or 2 degrees inside but nothing more. It's always a pleasure to see your videos Roman!

And this winter has been exceptionally warm. Im from Finland usually at this time you would see -20 on the thermometer but its never been above -10 for now.
Here in Sweden, it is freezing cold outside but warm and cozy inside. Many Swedes also have plenty of wood as an extra heat source if needed. I don't know whether to laugh or cry but the Russian New Year show was like a freak show. Warm greetings from the cold north.

I come from a Russian speaking family despite not being Russian and when i was visiting my grandparents for new year's i walked around and entered the main bedroom which has a TV and it was tuned to that channel, saw that Shaman guy and was shook "YO, IT'S THAT GUY!" i said, forgot his name too had to check this channel to remember.
He was the first song after Putin's message on new year, and song was such a fat piece of propaganda it was rediculous lol, my parents only watch Russian TV on NY and sure enough this guy was in there, it was quite an obscure experience.
I'm having a very hard time trying not to freeze to death in Lithuania. I currently have hundreds of tabs blasting your videos so my laptop overheats and at least warms my hands. Honestly speaking though, I don't think my brain can even compute the fact that all of this is real.
This stuff is like watching a re-run of Serbian TV in the '90ies, vomit inducing content, out of touch with reality. And now, 20 years later, I still can't watch Serbian national broadcaster RTS because of that experience. I've been watching your videos for a while and it is amazing how similar everything you go through is to what we had during Milosevic's time. It looks like fallout of that era is now dragging Serbia to the bottom again. This kind of thing leaves unrepairable consequences, generations grow up in parallel reality and it gradually becomes the only reality.
Exactly what i wanted to comment. Similarity is uncanny. But the sad thing is even when Russia loses like Serbia did there will be decades of consequences from all the brainwashing. And I'm afraid even with Putin gone his closest people will stay in power or return after a few years like they did in my country Serbia. I feel your pain Roman, we in Serbia are still living it even after a "revolution" and sending Milosevic to Hague. Respect for keeping a sound mind and a good heart amidst all the chaos.
@@danielalfred9600 Well, I'm not too sure about that Daniel, that's a whole new complex topic. In a nutshell, my view is that nazis and ultra-nationalists are everywhere, the poorer and less educated society is, more nazis it has. Russian aggression made the whole world support Ukraine and hate Russia for obvious reasons but a side-effect is that Ukrainian nazis are flying under the radar as freedom fighters at the moment. This is just how things usually go in wars with both sides trying to create strong bias for keeping people together and morale up. What this media polarisation will bring after the war remains to be seen, in my experience nothing good comes out of it as it allows the most extreme factions to gain popularity as war heroes. It also depends on what direction will Ukrainian government take after the war and will it allow them to influence public. I have no idea how many there are in each of these countries but I'm sure the numbers are pretty even, although not very large. War also attracts nazis from other countries and I think there are such people on both sides of this conflict. Serbian support for Russian invasion has many reasons and it requires lots of time explaining so I'll skip that for now. It's mostly irrational tu cut the long story short...
These people are so dark, so shallow, so vile, so corrupt. At 3:52, "whether you like it or not, Russia is getting bigger." I hope a good number of Russians picked up on that. Roman, keep being you, and keep doing what you're doing. Respect.
Thank you for talking about this, I'm glad I'm not the only one that found it outrageous. There was a week where the temperature did hit zero degrees Celsius at one point. During this week, My hot water taps were...well...hot...My shower was hot. my bath was hot. My cooker/oven was hot. My house was warm enough. The streets had little or no ice of them. The street lights were on all the time. Interestingly there was no electric black outs that the propaganda was screaming about. It's hard for westerners to believe you exist because you don't. Russians alleged to oppose the war are invisible cowards. They don't complain, protest, march out, speak out or do anything other than act passively in a manner that clearly assists Putin. As Elie Wiesal said "Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented."
Once any so-called Russian opposition develops backbone and acts in a similar manner to Iranian schoolgirls perhaps the west will recognise there is indeed some opposition within Russian.

In addition, poor countries like the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan are still reliant on worker remittances from Russia. Unfortunately that also includes genuine Kremlin shills it seems. People that don't have the genuine love of God in their hearts.

Have you heard what the Ukrainian forces did to the ethnic Russians in the recaptured territories. You propaganda troll.
and my name is Ghandi.
Wow, as a German watching this, this is absurd... we're freezing to death? What?
Haven't had such a comfortable winter in years
It's actually way too warm for winter in the northern parts of Germany. I slept with my window open last night, as it was 12°C. We had like half a week of frost and a bit of snow, and otherwise pretty much autumn-weather.
Same in the Netherlands!
Same in Romania, although even if it wasn't we'd be fine. We're one of the few EU countries that are self-sufficient on gas.
Watching that New Years celebration was painful. I'd imagine it's what it would be like in America if Fox News took complete control of the culture.
Also: "Mom said it's my turn on the Xbox!" had me rolling
As a Hungarian, I am extremely sad that we're going in this direction
Sometimes when I watch these videos, I feel as if I was looking into some kind of mirror of Hungarian government propaganda. It's not that extreme yet, but the parallels are more than scary and sad. Even, in November of 2021, Orbán joked about Western Europeans freezing to death which... didn't age well.
I am sure Russia still has assets in hungry or being blackmailed.
I wonder if Hungarians are truly aware of the damage currently being done to their countries reputation in Europe?
Guess who laugh on you?…🎉🇷🇴
@@adrianavargas5802 the hungarian government is extreme, trust me. i mean: the results are extreme. from outside it looks gentle. but they inside is terrible. the waves what those poison drops cause are dangerous. our elders now think like aliens here. the are totally turned out. even my grandma is cringe as hell and every argument about the country's politics and future are usually feels like cancer. and i'm part of the actual adult generation and not the only who have broken relationships with their ancestors.

Thermonuclear fusion will solve our energy problems in 10-15 years

We agree with you all the way. Long live Ukraine.
Exactly. Vladolf Putler and his besties are the new Hitler and the NSDAP
This is level 90 hypocrisy.
true...its just true...like germany
It's ironic. Putins narrative is that they are fighting against nazis or nazi government...but they are the ones resembling 1930 nazi Germany :D

It is easier to find nazis in Serbia and Russia than in Ukraine...😱😱
EXACTLY THIS!
Exactly. Actually nowdays serbian TV is not that far off. And serbs are still being brainwashed and claim that the biggest injustice was NATO bombing.
These people are so dark, so shallow, so vile, so corrupt. At 3:52, "whether you like it or not, Russia is getting bigger." Kind of debunks the incredibly thinly veiled lie that this is about driving out neo-Nazis, doesn't it? Not that anyone anywhere in the world believed that anyways. I hope a good number of Russians picked up on that. Roman, keep being you, and keep doing what you're doing. Respect.
Thank you for talking about this, I'm glad I'm not the only one that found it outrageous.

(Oh...by the way...that was BRITISH propaganda...Not Ruzzian)
The super markets were full of groceries for everyone. No one was eating their pet hamsters or any other pets (That one was Ruzzian propaganda)
