    I am mechanically inclined, and Work construction my whole life, and this was the best video to have me prepared to install my mid frame air deflectors and have the proper hardware and equipment ready to go!
    Thanks and keep up the good work

    This should be rated as the best instructional video on TH-cam. Thanks guy.

    Dude you are awesome. Every other video I watched on this left me with questions. Your breakdown, thoroughness, camera angles all made this extremely straightforward.
    Thank you!

      I did have one question though. You mentioned a few times that you needed to buy more fender washers but it didn't seem like you used more than the 4 already provided. Where did you use the additional ones when doing it the "smart way"?

      Thank you Mr. 'Grooves', for taking the time to login and leave a comment. That was the goal, my friend, after watching those other videos myself, I became very frustrated and decided to do my own. Glad it helped.

    • @PilotViewProductions
      @PilotViewProductions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Screws n' Dado Grooves I should a made that more plain. If I had continued on the left side like I did the right, I would have needed the extra washers. Doing it the smart way on both sides, 4 washers is fine.

    You are really good at explaining this, you could make a living doing voice over how to videos.

    Nicely executed. You mand another excellent tutorial video, Dean. Now that you've had these on your bike for a while, what issues have you had with them? Full-watch. 👍🏽🤠 3/25/23

      Thanks again for watching my videos. No issues however I wish the flair on them was about an inch wider. I found that these basically redirected the heat to a different location under my leg. Another inch would have made a ton of difference. On the other hand, a wider flair may have interfered with my leg room and comfort. I’ve known guys to just ride with an old towel draped over the seat front. Dean

    Thanks for doing it both ways.... Its always good to have options. PLUS who knows if they redesign these 3rd or 4th party deflectors.

    • @PilotViewProductions
      @PilotViewProductions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for taking the time to comment Scott. It was not fun filming both ways and as I mentioned in the video, I got hard-headed about it and decided at first I was going to just use what came with the kit, but it would have taken forever and been sooo much more difficult. If you decide to do this, hope it goes well. Let me know if I can help.

    well done video. I am thinking of mounting only the right side -- they say it will channel/flow air past rear cylinder and reduce temp. May I ask what year your bike is? I have o8 RK Classic

    • @PilotViewProductions
      @PilotViewProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s an 09 Road King Classic. I will say, the right side is the more difficult of the two sides to mount. You may wanna also check out my comments at the very end of the video where I test drove it to test the effectiveness.

    I have a 2005 Road King with the 88. My frame does not have the holes your does. In fact It looks very different. I gotta see somebody pull this off with whatever frame it is that I've got before I buy them. Because I just can't see how it is possible to install those things without drilling the frame, which isn't something I'm willing to do just yet.

    • @PilotViewProductions
      @PilotViewProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct. My research shows the only deflectors I could find that did not require drilling were the 'saddle' kind...that is, they straddle the frame and you place them just under the seat front, like a pair of saddlebags that deflect the heat. Not the same as what I show.

    Interesting/informative vid - Question.. Could you just use the 'WellL-Nut' idea on ALL the mounting points?

    • @PilotViewProductions
      @PilotViewProductions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually, I was so set on using the speed nut, I never tried to fit the well nut in the top opening which is a bit smaller than the bottom. I suspect it would have worked, but in hindsight, the speed nut at the top 'feels' much more secure being as the nut is not encircled by rubber like the well nut. That said, I'm confident using all well nuts would have been fine and it will hold. Cost-wise, there was little to no difference between the two. Let me know if I can help further.

    • @PilotViewProductions
      @PilotViewProductions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well nuts are sized to fit the 10-24 screw I used. Your size may be different depending on the size screw you decide to use. U-nuts are 1/4 by 20.
