So I bought my first 60” Great Dane many years ago.
I also used to work for a National lawn maintenance company and we handled large commercial properties and many of em had long steep slopes .
Now , inside the office of our shop was the OSHA literature with a diagram of how not to mow slopes across .
The proper and safer way is to come up & an angle and begin to backup and start your turn at the same time .
It’s done at angles and never straight up or down .
The sit down JD has a built in safety feature that is very important.
As long as ya start at the top of a steep slope and don’t touch your brakes the mower will not slip or go fast , kinda like an engine brake .
Ya slowly engage the brakes as your near the end of the bottom run .
I personally also like the JD 36” stand on mower .
It cuts like a champ and handles the toughest task .

Wright's front wheels are staggered for balance stability. Wright is the father of stand ons. No one has been doing it longer. Wright has pretty much perfected it. Everyone else is just catching up.

    • @Ed.Wright
      @Ed.Wright 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The Wright is staggered to reduce scalping. The deere wheels are pushed out because Deere wanted it to be more front heavy.

I own a 60” Great Dane stand on mower where the deck height adjustment is washers that ya have to remove the wheels to do that but it was fairly easy to do.
Stand on mowers are great since they are able to be very nimble , less deck space on a trailer and for the backyards with a 34”36” deck can run circles over a 36” walk-behind .
The company that I used to work with would send the crews out with just 1 sit down John Deere mower even though they had 36” & 52” stand on mowers . I was finally able to get the 36” & 52 “ for our crew as we serviced very large and small commercial properties that had a lot of small islands and large fields & ditches and slopes.

The Wright Standing Mower would be my choice.
Personally I like the Quad-Levers on the Wright over the Deere.
Why? Because it gives your hands a 'Break'. Meaning you can change your Grip to relax your hands over the course of the day.
Also I like their Rubber Chute over the Deere's Plastic one. Wright has said they designed that chute to be able to 'Stick It' up like that to keep it out of the way.
Plus I believe the Wright Mowers are better engineered over all then most if not all other mowers out there.
John Deere in my opinion (and many others as well) ride on their reputation to much now a days...

Both mowers are almost the same I've been with Deere for 30 plus years the difference is John Deere finance once you establish credit with Deere your good forever what ever you want you can grow your business wright and the other companies can't compete with John Deere financial go with Deere I've tried all the other 36 standers wright and Deere are the best good luck 👍

Didnt know that. Really great to know. Bought my 930m years ago with JD Financial. Just bought a 636m a couple of days ago with no issues with credit. Going to see how much I like this stander and might upgrade my Z for a new one.

Nothing like starting that mower at Full throttle there. I always get my guys a hard time that sometimes they forget its a personal thing but how do you like the build quality on the deer? The Wrights we have had easily crossed the Thousand hour threshold with literally zero issues. Also what engines are on those machines?

I've demoed the Wright which are the same as the John Deere and didn't like it. Cut quality in early morning dew covered grass sucked it would constantly clump up and the platform was so uncomfortable. I'll stick with my Ferris mowers. They cut great in both wet or dry grass and their suspension system really makes mowing all day long so comfortable. You're definitely comparing apples to apples though with those 2 mowers being the same with minor changes.

I don’t know about the transmission on the new Wright 36”, but I have a 32” and it’s super slow. Cut quality it’s good, but I also get a good cut quality on my Scag V Ride II, but Scag is a lot faster. I get a very good cut quality even at full speed. Also, suspension on Scag is amazing!

A bobcat mower dealer in Connecticut has a 36” bobcat stand on for $6500 delivered to my door.
