7/4/24 Captiva Ospreys: Darling is too exhausted to fly out of the water, and is rescued !

The parents of these two fledglings have been missing, and Ding and Darling have not eaten for nearly three days. The siblings have just recently fledged, and they rely on their parents to bring them fish. Ding and Darling are at at odds with each other, and have been fighting for control of the nest. In this video, they are involved in a chase, and Darling attempts to land on a nearby dock. He misses the landing, ends up in the water, and is too weak and exhausted from starvation to fly himself out of the water. So, he floats and drifts for a while. A neighbor of the property owner arrives to make sure that Darling is not pulled out into the bay by the currents. They rescue Darling from the water, and Darling was taken for evaluation and rehabilitation at CROW.
