Most people don't know this because they get killed in the first phase. Pinwheel is the hardest boss after all.
Forcing you to actually die and lose all your souls during a scripted death is extremely annoying, but forcing you to respawn in a locked jail cell is a genius way to deal with an unkillable protagonist. If it weren't for the serpentman's slapstick level of incompetence you would just be stuck there

0:12 To be fair, dying is technically an excellent way to go to the catacombs.
This is why I love the soulsborne games. I've put hundreds of hours in and I still get smashed every time I play. It never really got easy which keeps it fun.

Now I dont know the level you should be for the catacombs, but I do know that I am lvl 12 without access to warping in the catacombs, I am not good.

It's so annoying that the PvP just devolves. All it is most of the time is circling to try and visceral each other.

I restarted(rolled new character) Dark Souls a week ago & I'm ready to fight Gwyn decked out as Artorias with the Abyss Greatsword. I breezed through the Catacombs with the Sunmaggot & Artorias Greatsword(holy weapon, no skeleton respawns). Believe it or not, it's because I saw one of your videos & it made me want to play again.
