    I used to poke my fingers in the soil to see if the potatoes and carrots where growing. But than my grandfather told me "well it was a good thing your mother wasn't curious how you where growing!" I simply can't wait till I see the roots coming out of the little holes in the pots and lift them up daily :) I also sowed tomatoes, peppers and pepino's in transparent coffee cups to see the roots. I'll do the same with Fuchsia cuttings.

    I started a pepino plant from seed (from a storebought fruit) a few months ago, and it actually grew pretty fast, it has just started flowering now.

    Great to see what the plant looks like. I just bought a few of these fruits at my local market. I'm quite amazed at how much it actually does taste like a melon... pleasant and mild flavored , sweetest when it gives a little to pressure. Texture was a bit creamy yet still had a crispness to it. In the part of South Florida where I live in the USA, we only get light frosts and only about every 5 years with only die back on the most sensitive tropical plants so I will definitely be planting the seeds of my pepino melons. Wish me luck! Lol

    The perlite in your potting soil looks like just the thing to give much needed air to the mix.

    Hello.. where did u put the dump paper towel with seeds in it? In a shaded bright sunny area or in a dark area?

  • @Gehenna71
    @Gehenna71 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    No need! You see the tiny roots become bigger and bigger and more visible in the dark soil :) It's nice to see. At first you can see some tiny white worm like roots. At the end you can see some dark soil between the roots. Than it is high time for transplanting. Don't forget to make holes in the bottom of the cups.
