I know the SunPatiens were the reason for this video but I couldn't take my eyes off that Rhododendron!! What a beauty!

I was really lucky to have some mature elements in the yard when we moved in!

Thanks so much for this comparison. I have an important garden area that has the same conditions - morning shade and noonday full sun, so I'm looking for plants specifically for this. Your garden is beautiful.

From my understanding, the "compact" on sunpatiens doesn't really mean small. they should still get a pretty good size. They look pretty

I plant my sunpatients in Arkansas end of April to middle of may . They bloom constantly but grow slowly till July then they take off and get huge and bloom till first frost

I think your new impatiens are very pretty! I hope they grow well for you.

This is my first year growing sunpatiens. Like you, I have a spot in deep shade in the morning, but bright sun later in the day. We'll see how I like it!

So far the sunpatiens seem to be doing a little better than the new guineas. From a distance, they look like the same plant!

What type of auger was used? Thank you.

I used Jenny's edition of the Power Planter auger. powerplanter.com/products/jennys-edition-5-x-32-auger?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwvIWzBhAlEiwAHHWgvQ5BcUBQtNPi5FOrDTW5XWngUDzV0HI7iUp9As_FKJnBR917Zess6BoCTK4QAvD_BwE
I like the height of it. It is a little heavy. I think I would be just as happy with a 3" drill part and that would make it a little lighter.
