    Lesson learned Don’t judge a book by it’s cover or for that matter a nodule by it’s outer layer 😊 thanks for sharing the treasures

    I tried to decide which way to cut along with you. I keep wanting to choose the long cut producing the biggest face, but you proved that’s not always the way to go. So thanks Kate for the demo. I’m learning along with you.

    I like your decision making process on the cuts…Waiting on a back ordered trim saw to show up and I have about 10lbs of 1970’s waiting to be cut. I am glad I watched your video.

    Doing just like you and agates except in the south U. S., I replace them with marshmallows and instead of a lapidary saw, I take a half bite . Joking, of course, its a fascinating job you perform 😊😊 thanks for your skill and effort, very much !!!

    The Agate at the 2:18 mark is Stunning! Wonderful colors and so well defined. WOW! ~ The one at the 6:08 mark was sort of Heart Shaped. I would have Stood it up & Shaved off the top layer to accentuate the Heart.. Just me thinking.. ~ ~ I love the ones with clear depth in them so you can see deep into the stone next to the bands. ~ This is such a fun video. Thanks for showing us the Variety..

    You have an eye for cut placement. Thanks for sharing some info about Lake Malawi. They are also well known for their Chiclids. Chiclids are a popular aquarium fish species. Great video, Kate! 👍🏻

    They're not all that large but there are definitely some nice cuts and patterns among them. I'm curious about the shield around your saw; did that come with it or did you have it made or make it yourself?

    Why do cut with oil and not water?

    • @KatyDidRocks
      @KatyDidRocks  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The blade is 10", so oil is recommended.

    • @leighyoung9583
      @leighyoung9583 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is oil recommended with any 10 inch blade or just saw specific?
