I was talking to a friend, telling I seen this guy that leaves on the river . He showed me this video , you are the one I see when I fish the same place , cool I’ve fished this area since the 60’s . Your dog barked at the other day as I passed by .
I hope your cabin is sealed well. Just ran across your channel today. I am from the mountains of Tennessee and those water moccasins and copperhead snakes freak me out. If I lived on a boat I wouldn’t be able to sleep worrying about snakes getting in lol
They haven't gotten in yet, but my dog river is very good at smelling them and freaking out... I appreciate you taking the time to comment and I appreciate you watchIng thank you
I stayed off overnight on our boat a few weeks ago and we had snakes galore as well. I kept thinking I was gonna have to shoot a hole in my boat if one came on board. Then there was this beaver getting curious as well. 😂 Always an adventure in the summer time. That hose would be a great snake spraying matching too. Hehe. The views are simply amazing on the Tennessee river! Thanks for your efforts. Always a pleasure. God bless. 😎🤙
Welcome to the channel, I have documented the building of the boat and then moved onto moonshine enjoying several years now. Take a look at previous episodes to how it evolved ☺️. I appreciate you watching, thanks.
Having a hose to wash down is so handy on a boat. Its the little things. Lol I'd suggest putting the pump as close to the water source as possible, but it seems to be working well the way you have it.
When the weather gets in the 90's have you thought about using your 12v dc powered pump to run a couple of basic sprinklers on the roof to cool down your houseboat?
I do spray down the boat on hot days... I like the idea of a mister running, great tip Tracy. I basically run the AC from 11 to 8 on super hot days 👍🌞😎
Thanks for another great video from Martin! The quiet, inconspicuous life of small and not so small (I'm talking about a spider) inhabitants of the river. The dawn sun through the morning fog, the clear waters of the Blue Stream, this was not enough for me to achieve zen. Thank you!
I hate seeing those snakes since I was a young man and got bit by one on my hand. Most painful thing I ever went threw. I'm glad you kick the generator I reach down to grab a frog.
No fun...Sorry you got bit. Must of been horrible. I have become very diligent about my movement along the waterway. Never reaching or stepping without looking. They are a daily issue for me. I'm getting used to them, and life on the water here. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment 👍. Thanks
Some of those nature shots….wow, amazing. Those snakes though ☹️show them the chainsaw, turned on. I’m gonna watch this episode again for the nature shot then Tuen it off before the snake show up lol
Nice thumbnail! That huge spider😮 I had to use mosquito coils today, WTH colorado?! Lovely sunset🧡 Nope, not messing with propane, it seems like I singe my hair everytime I light my cookstove😂 How do you know when the little bottle is full?
👍 thumbnail... Friendly mosquito eating spider 😂 you can weigh the propane but I just fill it until I hear no more hiss. Same way I know if there's a snake underneath my boat. 😂
I was told to keep my chairs on the boat in GA, but it's ok to have a fire off the boat🙄 I guess they keep things inconsistent so you can't fight them in court, at least around Atlanta.
Couple of thoughts I'm sure there as here in fl. cottonmouths can be very aggressive and will actually come after you in sone circumstances. I think thatvpump idea is great and solves a multitude of issues. I understand and support your life style my only exception is keep the house rent it out let someone else pay and mtg taxes and insurance you gain the equity and capitol appreciation. Real estate is and always chas been the best long term hedge against inflation and gains more returns than any other low risk investment.
I was a landlord for 15 years, it's definitely a good way to make a living, and payoff property. I kept me in Wisconsin and I want to travel with less responsibility. 👍😉
God knows I wished me and my wife had one like this we are in very bad need of it me and her just want to do this and enjoy life some but we are a long way from it
if that is on the TN National Wildlife refuge then its not legal to camp or build fires. other refuges throughout the country alows it for 14 days at a time. also in November they close the refuges down for duck migration.
I'm not sure what you mean? I don't camp on land. I Sleep on my boat anchored out. I. Think you need to watch the rest of the episode. Where I tell people that they have to not leave anything on the property and stuff like that. They do not close the river in November. Maybe they close a park, but the river is open to traffic year around. I'll be honest with you im kind of confused with your comment 🤔. About the fire. It's on my boat. There is no regulations that stop anyone from building a fire on their own boat...
@@ATAP...AnotherTime youre not understanding. all of that backwater, islands from the west side of the river to the east side is national wildlife refuge boundary, south of morgan creek to birdsong and the duck river is the north to south boundary. living on a boat or camping on land within the boundaries is prohinited. cutting firewood or clearing creeks of fallen trees is also prohibited anywhere on the refuge or TVA property along the river. their motto is "leave it like you found it" just trying to save you some grief. a lady that moved here from out west cut some live and dead trees in front of her house and TVA fined her $20k and she had to replant 50 oak trees.
you can go online and pull up the refuge maps and youll understand. you can also call the headquarters in springville and theyll answer questions if you have any. they do shut down parts of the refuge and bays from november 15-march 15. some areas are still open to fishing during that time. during high water and eagle nesring season they may shut access to the whole refuge. they usually post it on the site when they sut it down.
I appreciate that you're looking out. I just got off the phone with the game wardens. I also checked with cuba Landing and bird song marinas. They all said that certain activities are limited from November to March. No bait, fishing, no fishing. And certain hunting is limited. The waterways are open for use year-round, for nature photography. It's allowed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week in all national forests and all state forests and all nature preserves. I'm a nature photographer, and I don't really fish. I've also done this five years now. Always seeing the Coast Guard and the game wardens in winter regularly. Regardless of that. I really appreciate you pointing it out because if I was doing something wrong. I would want to know. Thank you very much.
@@ATAP...AnotherTime great. they allow fishing year round in those bays and back water (tie yards) in that area. that rule was changed 2 or 3 years ago. still applies to sulfur wells and bussletown area though.
If you get a headlamp flashlight and look out at night in the weeds or grass u can see spiders eyes. Out in a common everyday yard u can look out and see hundreds of spider eyes out hunting
@ATAP...AnotherTime Elsewhere I ran across a comment criticizing your tendency to turn the camera on a small part of nature (tree stump, spider, ripples on the water, etc.) and dwell on it for a bit. I have to say that I totally disagree. Your habit of doing that, and skill at doing that, are two of the main reasons that I find myself returning to your videos after a time away. Keep up the artistic stuff. You're pretty good at it. Much appreciated. :)
If you have a scale you would need how full your little tank is. Empty the tank weighs about 13.4 ounces. So full the tank should weigh 1 pound 13.... Ounces.
@ATAP...AnotherTime Yeah, as I kept watching I saw more. Lots of those down in Florida too. I lived on my sailboat there for several years. I used to see them on the Okeechobee waterway a lot. Good video!
You shoot some beautiful video, but man those snakes are not to be mess with, stepping out your door a dang cotton mouth starring at you no thank you [lol]
Kayakin once down a river and watch a snack flick its tail and jump out of the water 3 feet and grab a limb hanging over the water. Didnt realize they could do that. He cud easily get on your boat. Leaving comments for the algorithm

Just a heads up, police and coast guard can board a vessel at any time twenty four hours a day without a warrant. Anywhere in american waters. I know, I know. It shocked me to, but it's absolutely true. You have rights if you're in a tent and you have rights if you're in an I. R, v, but you don't have very many rights in a boat. It's crazy I know.
I know that. It's cause you can't just conduct a normal traffic stop on water or a normal house visit on water.
