I feel like the players for yugioh are between the ages of 25-40. There's no new players that i see when playing and if there are new players they are usually my age or older. Yugioh needs a good anime to attract new players. Best way IMO.
Depends on your locals I've seen players as young as 12 but idk too many young players that want to read and learn strategies of yugioh. Grown adults struggle understanding the rules of the game so making a kid understand is an even bigger challenge. Ask public school teachers now a days and they'll tell how short the average attention span is in the US.
Why would they give us a complete fresh-out-of-the-box structure deck when they could make us cobble it together from set packs for three to ten times the cost? 😔
Kinda wish we got these types of things outside of ocg. I don’t have time or money to go and buy a whole ass deck. However, something like this could be cool. It’s cheaper, and it’s less time hunting. All in one package.
@IsNow-iy9bs not just that AE version of any OCG cards sells for a higher price, and this will be the firsf easily accessible maxx C for AE. Take note, the AE meta has a different Limited and Forbidden list. In there, Maxx-C is still at 3.
We should be getting more structure decks with good reprints in the tcg. It would help casual players get their hands on expensive and competitive cards plus, getting certain reprints in structures instead of sets like bonanza would be better.
Swordsoul is a fantastic deck to bring in new players. It's got a bunch of core interactions you need to know. We need more competitive level structure decks. Not T0, maybe not even fully t1, but at least able to hold a solid 2, maybe up to 1 by spicing it up a little. As a side note I'd love to see a slew of new structure decks, all the way up to current meta. Ones that sell the art and theming of the product well, and would have enough on the face customer appeal Centur-ion for classic mecha anime, Exodia for nostalga and with the new millenium support for viability, Labrynth for anime degens, Dragonmaid with the new support it's due for super degens, there's got to be a lot of borderline archetypes out there that could use support and have that classic look and play to them.
it's not even $10. it is only about ~7.5 USD. Imagine getting readily playable deck with some good staple with that price. heck even buying the staple at common will cost as much or even more than the deck. insane value
Why would the competitive player base be looking at an entry level product like this, designed to bring players in and complaining about it not being competitively viable when it’s not designed for them? They should be printed for the tcg, more players playing and buying product is good for the game. You need a healthy player base and tapping into the master duel crowd for that isn’t a bad thing. The point of entry is easier if “everything” you need is tied up in one package (structure deck).
Exactly this. There are new players, like me, who have been playing master duel for a while now but want to get into paper and would love an easily accessible product like this to help me do so.
@@nitro5247 Since you are a new player looking to get into paper and you are looking for a cheap deck to start with, let me recommend you some cheap decks that as long as you have some of the basic staples for them like "ash", "belle", "ogre", "imperm" and "talents" you should be doing somewhat decently at locals. I am going to go by recommending decks that can be played mostly with only 1/2 mechanics, but you can ofcourse mix them with other stuff. First Fluffals, a very nice and fun OTK fusion strategy with so much consistency that even if you get "ashed" or "veillered/impermed" it's not really the end of the world and even if going first for this deck is not the best it still has the ability to end on "I:P" for the "S:P" play plus a "Number 38". Also this deck has the ability to play super polymerization which is IMO the most powerfull board breaker in the game. Your fusions also come with on summons destruction effects or activatable non targeting send effects, as such you won't find your self unable to break boards and attack for game. Not only that, but a bunch of your fusions also come with their inate protection from destraction and buffing/revival effects. Second Lyrilusc, a deck that is LV1 Wing-Beast based and has the ability to utilize a huge amount of support for LV1 and Wing Beasts. With acess to "Swallow's Nest/Cowire" you have the ability to avoid "imperm" and "Veiller" and a big amount of disraption cards that pop your board while making sure that all your on summon effects will almost always get the ability to resolve or tap out into different monsters so that you can continue playing. Its an XYZ based strategy as such you have access to card like "Zeus" and "Ty-phon" if you wish to spend a bit more. Also since this deck in LV1 based you can utilize perfectly cards like instant fusion so that you can summon out "Millennium Eyes Restrict" a LV1 monster that can act as an extra copy of "Called By" and at worst as material for your XYZ play. This deck's in archetype XYZ monsters focus on multi attacking, multi Bouncing disraption and Effect DMG. Also they all get targeting protection and brain control protecting from you Lyrilusc monsters that were used as mats for them. Adding on this deck almost never uses its normal summon so cards like "Laval Golem" and "Sphere Mode" are perfect. You can also utilize some link monsters like "Anima" and "Almiraj". You can play them pure, but also with Tri-Brigade. Third is Cyber Dragon, the KING of board break decks! Able to utilize both "Super Poly" and "ClockWork Night" plus a "Cyber Dragon" to non targeting clear a board extremely easily. With access to cards like "Repair-Plant" and "Cyber-Emergence" you can search powerfull board breakers like "Kaiju's" and "Cyber Eltanin" to make sure that your opponents board full of monsters is wiped. This deck also is actually quite consistent with lots of ways to get out monsters like with "Machine Dupe" and a new link monster coming out next set "Clockwork Knight" that makes getting to your monsters and full combo as easy as just needing to normal summon a LV4 and below machine monster. Be warned though that incomparison to the decks before its actually quite suseptible to hand traps even though theoretically speaking it has the highest ceiling. This deck also arguably has the best first turn set up by utilizing "Cyber Dragon Infinity", "Heosvarog" and "Therion King Regulus". Lastly Spright. the deck recently has gotten its entire core reprinted and as such it is extremely cheap and easy to build. To be ever more budget I recommend a Nimble/Frog built rather than a Runic/Evil Twin based built. The deck is immune to Nibiru which is a huge deal and also has very consistent combos, since most starting combos for this deck boil down to just getting 2 LV2 on board. This deck has the ability in even the worst case scenario to always end on "I:P" for the "S:P" play plus "Mannequin Cat" and "Spright Sprind", which said cat is able to get you a preety powerfull floodgate in the form of "Testudo Erat Numen" a monster that makes it impossible for both players to special summon any monsters with attack higher than 1800. Meaning your weak mosters are actually preety well insulated by battle. With also access to cards like Talents and Mind Control and Change of Heart in the side deck this deck is very well equiped with dealing with problematic monsters the opponent has, since you can simple steal and use them for a link summon. Also Spright do have the advantage of having many many different ways to play them, so if you get bored of one version you can easily transition to another one. I hope I helped even just a little bit with ideas or ways you can start your paper Yugioh career. There are ofcourse other choices too, but most of the other ones require you to break in the bank, even spright being cheaper it still has the issue of it having a few cards here or their that might cost a bit more than 7 or 8 euro/dollars. I hope I helped as best I could and have a nice day or night were ever you might be. ;) Sorry for the long read. :3
Hero one is the more blank canvas to start build elemental and destiny heros and the swordsoul one is copied from master duel with staples and minus token
You just said the entire market and why eBay has been goofy lately thank you for weighing that scale it’s sad. I have been doing better with Pokemon lately. I barely spent shit on Bonanza but surging sparks is such a more return on investment vs a 1000 card set with not even 1 $100 card.
Yugioh AE is only for Asia region, and always make his product more cheaper and worth from the other😂 And it makes Yugioh player in Western Region mad🤣
Master duels only selling power is for stupid hand traps like Ash blossom. It's not fun anymore. Who likes battling the same decks over and over again every time we play?. I'm back to duel links just for a little variety.
"competitive players" and youtubers are a cancer for yugioh, in Magic you can play commander and just have fun, there is a competitive player base but that doesn't stop wizards fron launching very good commander decks, now with archenemy the format is becoming even funnier, meanwhile in yugioh GOAT cards are the most expensive ones you can get in a bonanza set...
It's so funny how Konami could be making really good structure decks for the player base. But chooses not to.
Yup

yeah 100% - with no anime there is no new playerbase

Update:
Both Duel Ignition deck will allegedly include 1 Called By the Grave, 2 Ash Blossoms, 2 Infinite Impermanence, and TWO MAXX-C.
I heard somewhere along the lines that any product with maxxC sells a shit ton in ocg.

You gotta check the cardlist out its literally a 1-2 buy SD literally 20c per card. Im so hyped for this I already ordered a set of both
Konami doesn't realise selling good products gets them MON - EY

And yet one piece and other card games are doing six different sd for cheap and yugioh tcg can't make one for the players.
And TCG Konami is sleeping again, why do they hate us so much?
I love swordsoul I would buy easily 6x of this structure deck
More Structure Deck in tcg with new card, please konami.
Swordsoul support? 👀
Probably next year most likely, but we have new tenyi support and yes help swordsoul more than tenyi
@ nice! I honestly stopped playing Yugioh and that’s kinda exciting to hear that they got support
@@DimeloRasol if you super fan of swordsoul/tenyi, like I am, then it be good you return and play the new tenyi support with swordsoul
@ awesome, I’m going to look into it
Mostly copy paste from master duel with staples

I am going to call it like it is There is a bunch of idiots working at Konami there marketing strategy is horrible!
Is it in English though? I have every hero card in every rarity so unless there's a new Hero card releasing in it i won't buy it probably
They are in fact in English! It's only the card backs that has the Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh logo
@a.wosaibi thought so
Master duels only selling power is for stupid hand traps like Ash blossom. It's not fun anymore. Who likes battling the same decks over and over again every time we play?. I'm back to duel links just for a little variety.
