@@brav1122 For some reason I didn't get the notification for the response. Thank you for the recommendations :), I really like the deck. I'm maining this deck now and it's great to learn the game with it. Also started pulling the new booster for a Melodious deck in the future. I wonder how strong this deck will be in the future with new tenji cards coming out in the ocg now, if I saw that corrcetly.
What's the consensus on running Icejade Gymir Aegirine? I've found some success summoning it instead of Baron off the standard Mo Ye to Long Yuan line.
Glad I looked at this video, with Barrone De Fluer set to be banned, I needed to find a card to fill that space in. The adamancipator card was the perfect choice for me. Though if you have a better suggestion, I am all ears.
Hi there. Great video thank you. I’m just starting you-go-oh and am trying to build this deck in master duel. However, the main deck breakdown only comes in at 26 cards. I assume the other 15 are staples but being new to the game, I don’t know what they are (with the exception of ash) and the pictures aren’t clear enough for me to work the rest out. Would it be possible to get the deck list just in plain text as a comment? Thank you
I recently got into master duel and after getting the Swordsoul structure deck from the Follower Campaign, I've made it my own. I looked up videos on the deck to see what people actually used in it, but I found myself not liking the 2 spellcaster tuners or the Tenyi engine, let alone I didn't have any crafting materials for the Tenyi engine. I also didn't and still don't have a crazy number of extra deck monsters to pick and choose the best and use. Only just today I was able to get Baronne de Fleur, even got lucky and pulled 2 of it. My deck right now consists of: 3 Mo Ye, Taia, Longyuan, Emergence, and Sacred Summit. The other cards I have at 3 that probably not many others have are Virtual World Oto-Hime - Toutou and Monster Reincarnation. I saw I had that Virtual World card and it's pretty cool; it's a level 6 wyrm that can special summon itself as a tuner from the GY by discarding a wyrm. I like this because it gives more availability to synchro 10's but also opens the door for synchro 12's, really the only one worth using is Superheavy Samurai Brave Masurawo for being a big booty that can draw you cards. It also allows for possibly going into Xyz 6's like Number 39: Utopia Beyond and Photon Strike Bounzer. The cards I have at 2 are Forbidden Chalice, Blackout, Dust Tornado, Called by the Grave, and Call of the Haunted. The one-of's are Iris, Monster Reborn, Lightning Vortex, Maxx "C", Effect Valor, Ash Blossom, Numbers Protection, Silent Graveyard, and Performapal Celestial Magician. I like this deck to have a lot of recursion in it in case any of my synchro's gets destroyed, hence all the summon from GY cards. I put in all the cards that discard for cost so I'd have ways to discard the Virtual World card because I want it in the deck or grave, not my hand, although, while writing the effect of it above I realized I'd be able to discard itself if I had one in grave and one in hand. The only card I'll probably change back is Lightning Vortex to Raigeki. I have the Silent Graveyard card in the deck becuase there be lots of effects that activate in the GY. The Performapal seems like an interesting card and with this deck I expect to use it's pendulum effect to re summon something that got destroyed and then special summon it from the GY while I have a synchro and Xyz on the field so it doubles it's attack and the opponent can't activate monster effects that turn. The synchro's I'm using are Supreme Sovereign - Chengying, Grandmaster - Chixiao, Superheavy Samurai Brave Masurawo, Adamancipator Risen - Dragite, Timelord Progenitor Vorpgate, Crimson Blader, and 2 Baronne de Fleur. I've only played 2 games of ranked and none were with this deck, so idk how effective it is, being compared to the Tenyi version or not, but I expect it to still be fairly good.
Last thing for now, if most people don’t play a card it’s 99.9999999% because it’s not a good addition, we all been there thinking we found the line, me personally it was with the gravity collapse counter trap
Another use for circle: Tribute a normal monster to summon Mo Ye. Her effect will go through, because its an n Summon effect und circles negate only sets in, as soon the card hits the field, so you'll get the token either way
Thank you so much for this bro, been playing this deck for a few months and I've learnt so many combos and stuff that I didn't know about. Keep up the good work bro !
I feel the Denglong line to play through imperm or veiler was very off from the way you should go about it, which why I feel people underestimate Denglong in Swordsoul. With that hand specically, you make Denglong w/ Adhara + Sthana before you normal summon your Swordsoul (use Adhara to add back Ashuna if it’s Mo Ye), then do your normal summon and activate its effect. Use Denglong’s effect to send a lvl 4 to the GY if your Swordsoul gets negated, viola you have a lvl 4 tuner on the board. Leading to my next point, any advice on making a guide like this for a version of the deck with Denglong and Yang Zing in the main? I run them in mine, and yes I know it may seem suboptimal but I enjoy the endboards you can make with them. Plus them being wyrms let’s you play with them through Ashuna and they work along with your Swordsouls effects. In the aforementioned Denglong line for example, you can summon Qixing + draw effect , Chixiao, and Chengying (or light Chaofeng) as a two card combo from Denglong’s other 2 effects in that combo.
Also want to recommend Summit as searchable monster reborn is always never bad. Let’s you extend combos, helps recovery, and in hands where you don’t have to search Longyuan from Chixiao you can otk with it as your search instead.
Disagree on summit. There's many combinations that allow summit to be useful at 1. Moye, longyuan, dragon cycle Taia longyuan, any teny except ashuna. Emergence, longyuan Taia, Emergence (if you dont have the swordsoul target in hand theres a chance of drawing into a target to extend plays) Ecclesia tenyi longyuan Ecclesia, Emergence Etc. The combinations are what you look out for. Who cares about consistency when swordsoul is consistent enough. 1 wont kill the deck. Iris and golden swordsoul played at 1 wont kill the deck either. Iris is useful in the hand if moye gets negated. If you have taia lines or ecclesia you can use golden swordsoul on the opponents turn to get to iris. This video is also 2 months old. Swordsoul is powercrept out the format with this basic list with purrely, kashtira variants, dragonlink, branded, labyrinth, mathmech, cyberse piles etc. Its not good enough anymore. So im not following this list as gospel. The deck needs to evolve. Better tech options need to be explored. You and the other swordsoul heads need to focus more on how to use swordsoul with its consistency to increase the power level and not just hyper focused on consistency with no power.
Pak played this deck recently on a stream and his decklist pretty much lines up with everything that was said in this video. Swordsoul requires you to play more properly than Chixiao, Baronne and Protos pass at the moment, you need to learn the combos and lines now to win consistently. I would highly recommend you to actually learn the deck and it's lines first, before you deny a "2 month" old guide that lines up with a deck profile of Pak's most recent Swoso video, which is only 2 weeks old. EDIT: I am not denying that the deck is being powercrept and that it needs to adapt to the meta to a certain extent, but not with all of your mentioned card choices, those were all bad. A fitting adjustment would be leaning more towards Bystials to deal with Dragon Link, Puppet Lock, Mathmech...
One question. Does baxia activate its pop and summon from the graveyard twice? In the description, it is once per turn. Im kinda having a tough time thinking about this
A lot of Hollow Knight OST, I approve. Also thanks, while the more common and intuitive combos (Such as Mo ye into longyuan for 2 interrupts) are quite far spread on the internet, most other combos are really hard to find.
Slight phrasing issue there, you search with Chixiao, and then add back with Adhara. Point is you should have Ashuna back in hand to help with whatever Chixiao searches. I just couldn't find a good way to write the script for that part specifically.
Any advice playing swordsoul tenyi against Snake Eye and Unchained? I have a snake eyes deck, but I'm getting really sick of the barage of mirror matches. Newer account, don't want to spend a lot of money.
use your handtraps wisely because engine alone won't be enough to beat snake eye as for unchained, I think our engine can deal with it pretty effectively already, but using handtraps to stop them is also good
@@brav1122 Some follow up questions then. What hand traps do you suggest running currently and how many copies of each? My current list of hand traps is 3 Ash blossom, 3 infinite impermanence, 2 called by the grave. Any considerations for Nibiru, effect veiler, forbidden droplet, crossout designator or dimension shifter?
Useful info but it'd be more easier to follow if ya added more text or something yanno? It'd be easier to make notes if I could just take screenshots rather than having to write out each step one by one. Personally I would have liked more cope options, like if X gets negated then you can do Y instead. The most you get is "try to chainblock so Chixiao's search doesn't get negated" but its not helpful if your Mo Ye gets impermed and you can't even get to Chixiao in the first place. Do you like, just scoop then? Also a lot of these combos rely on you have Ashuna + some other cards in your hand. I would like to see more options on what happens if you don't draw Ashuna or Mo Ye. I've been messing around in solo mode to practice and I've definitely gotten problems where I get what look like dead hands, where I don't even get Emergence or Ecclesia to bail me out. I'm using a deck list based off MDM so I don't think my ratios are off either, so I guess if you don't draw Mo Ye/Eccelsia and/or Ashuna you also scoop?
>if X gets negated then you can do Y instead it tends to be more complicated than it seems. the guide serves as a way to cover general tips/synergies within the deck instead of every interaction. if we did that it'd have taken hours to talk about "if mo ye gets negated then you should do this line" instead because then it goes into "how to best sequence your hand" territory. of course, we did cover that to an extent with the mo ye + long + ashuna line into yazi baxia, but that's still barely scratching the surface of what you could be doing in terms of determining how you keep playing through interactions >Also a lot of these combos rely on you have Ashuna + some other cards in your hand yes, swordsoul is primarily a 2 card combo deck with ashuna being one of the best ones, that's why >if you don't draw Mo Ye/Eccelsia and/or Ashuna you also scoop? of course not. those are certainly very good cards but you can still certainly make do with cards like taia and longyuan, or circle and vessel which get you to ashuna more easily from my experience, swordsoul hands only look "dead" if you're new to the deck. once you've gotten used to how the cards interact with each other in the deck, you'll find that the deck rarely ever bricks. I definitely recommend watching replays on youtube if you want to learn more about playing mediocre hands or utilizing god hands to their fullest potential
I suck at deckbuilding so much, but can someone run me a recipe list for a deck that I can run with these? I'm asking cuz there's a lot of cards here that I'm not sure how much I should have 😢 Thanks in advance, SoulSword fans ❤
A bit late but here’s a standard list to get you started: Main: 3x Adhara 3x Ashuna 2x Vishuda 1x Mapura 3x Mo Ye 3x Incredible Ecclesia 3x Longyuan 2x Taia 1x Protos 3x Emergence 2x Heavenly Circle 1x Vessel 1x Blackout Then you have 12 slots for non engine (Usually just Ash, Imperm, Maxx C, Called by) Extra Deck: 1x Denglong 1x Yazi 2x Baxia 1x Draco Berserker 2x Chixiao 1x Chaofeng 1x Baronne 1x Chengying 1x Qixing 2x Monk of the Tenyi 1x Shaman of the Tenyi And 1 more free spot for whatever. Hope this helps.✌️
I honestly don’t believe the “swordsoul community” helped u. first off heavenly is dog crap and the level 4 tenyi monsters are soo good especially paired up with Virtual World Oto-Hime also visas you can ss ashuna to monk then use ashuna affect to ss level 4 tenyi then tribute monk for visas boom level ten plus you can easily make any level ten by sending Virtual World Oto-Hime to grave by one of the many ways in this archetype then use his grave affect to ss him to your field as a tuner then use him and a lvl4 tenyi to make a lvl ten synchro smh these are all things I’ve seen LITERALLY the best swordsoul players off discord all use on a regular so again idk what community you talked to because you showed the most basic sword soul combos I’ve ever seen. Also all those cards I mentioned are all different attributes so more ways to summon protos the god of this deck..
Yeah that visas line doesn't even work once you use Ashuna as you are wyrm locked. And Oto-Hime (most people call it Toutou by the way) isn't terrible per se, it will just clog up hands if you open it and requires you to have a wyrm in hand to discard when longyuan already requires a discard for it's effect too. Having fringe situations where you can increase the ceiling of the end board doesn't make this deck stronger when it's all about consistency rather than explosive turn 1 set ups. Oh and circle is widely considered a great, versatile card for many reasons beyond just dodging targeted effects so yeah the card isn't even up for debate as to whether it's good or not.
Extremely unhelpful, didn't help me at all. Half the video is just mindlessly reading the effects of a card. Makes a big show of saying VESSEL IS SO IMPORTANT, JUST LIKE CIRCULAR IN MATHMECH and yet of the 13 top swordsoul decks on master duel meta, only ONE of them uses vessel. For a card that's supposed to be an anchor, barely anyone actually uses it. The deck that used it didn't even reach Master 1. *Doesn't bother explaining which lv10 synchro you should summon, making it useless as A GUIDE *Just have cards flying everyone on the screen, too lazy to add visualizations for card zones to make it easier to understand *Talks so slowly when reading card text but then as fast as possible when talking about combos, the most important part *There's an entire combo that relies on the opponent negating Mo Ye. Not a "here's an alternative you can do" but "no we're expecting this to happen" and it doesn't explain what to do if Mo Ye DOESN'T get negated and takes the hand trap since the tokens prevents you from going into anything but synchros. The token is just free damage for the opponent to attack into since its 0/0, but of course you want to activate Mo Ye to trigger imperm. You also can't use any link monsters until its gone There's a bunch of other issues too but my god, a lot of this could be solved if you didn't sound like you were explaining this over a discord call. This is a video, use that to your advantage. You copy pasted every card's effect but couldn't bother using any text or visuals for the combos? It really comes off as lazy.
@@kitsuma Why are you white-knighting a literal who with less than 2k subs lmao? You can't even point at anything I said that's wrong so thanks for agreeing with me.

He climbs with Swordsoul pretty much every season with good lists each time, so he's a reliable source when it comes to Swordsoul lists. He also played a part in making the guide of course so I trust his judgement when it comes to building and playing Swordsoul. Here he is: www.masterduelmeta.com/user/62f9ba604870f9f26e75d302
It’s another flex spot, pretty good this format

My deck right now consists of:
3 Mo Ye, Taia, Longyuan, Emergence, and Sacred Summit.
I've only played 2 games of ranked and none were with this deck, so idk how effective it is, being compared to the Tenyi version or not, but I expect it to still be fairly good.
you know that you can dismantle cards right? The tenyis are all common and rare
Also it’s not a bad thing to netdeck decklists, we all been a rookie
Last thing for now, if most people don’t play a card it’s 99.9999999% because it’s not a good addition, we all been there thinking we found the line, me personally it was with the gravity collapse counter trap
This was great I love it and I sub
Increadible video
Another use for circle: Tribute a normal monster to summon Mo Ye. Her effect will go through, because its an n Summon effect und circles negate only sets in, as soon the card hits the field, so you'll get the token either way
that’s literally not how it works, the mo ye is still negated and you don’t get the token
@@brav1122 wait it doesn’t? Damn just checked in md and you are right. Really should tell our discord about it. Thanks for pointing it out to me

Amazing guide
I like this way a lot about playing around imperm. Thank you.
I wish that Rarran watched this but ain't no way he's ever gonna.
I like playing Mare Mare with Yazi. It lets me do the silly Tenyi Link-4 play for targetting-denial.
Can you do naturia runick in depth guide like this video
Thanks man ❤
Disagree on summit. There's many combinations that allow summit to be useful at 1.
Moye, longyuan, dragon cycle
Taia longyuan, any teny except ashuna.
Emergence, longyuan
Taia, Emergence (if you dont have the swordsoul target in hand theres a chance of drawing into a target to extend plays)
Ecclesia tenyi longyuan
Ecclesia, Emergence
Etc.
The funny thing is that I had 2 of Baxia in my deck but never used it until this video
Can you post the decklist please?

Bro, don't u have some video doing gameplay with this deck? would help alot
One question. Does baxia activate its pop and summon from the graveyard twice? In the description, it is once per turn. Im kinda having a tough time thinking about this
At 43:20
it's once per turn per copy, so if you summon a 2nd one or send the 1st one to the gy and then revive it, you can use it again
Whats the name of the instrumental at "Dp's and don'ts"?
A lot of Hollow Knight OST, I approve. Also thanks, while the more common and intuitive combos (Such as Mo ye into longyuan for 2 interrupts) are quite far spread on the internet, most other combos are really hard to find.
I run exactly the same, but i use one copy of niburu and one talent. I'm not sure if i should take them out and two copies of called by the grave
How do you activate adhara from the grave before chixiao eff after SS??
Slight phrasing issue there, you search with Chixiao, and then add back with Adhara. Point is you should have Ashuna back in hand to help with whatever Chixiao searches. I just couldn't find a good way to write the script for that part specifically.
Make branded despia guide please

@@tylimeturtle198 no
Little confused on the Chaofang line. By the time you summon it, you've already done 5 summons, no? So couldn't they nib before you Chaofang?

Any advice playing swordsoul tenyi against Snake Eye and Unchained? I have a snake eyes deck, but I'm getting really sick of the barage of mirror matches. Newer account, don't want to spend a lot of money.
use your handtraps wisely because engine alone won't be enough to beat snake eye
as for unchained, I think our engine can deal with it pretty effectively already, but using handtraps to stop them is also good
@@brav1122 Some follow up questions then. What hand traps do you suggest running currently and how many copies of each? @@brav1122 thanks for the quick reply! :)
i feel like i did something wrong. im short 10 cards or main deck
I'm using a deck list based off MDM so I don't think my ratios are off either, so I guess if you don't draw Mo Ye/Eccelsia and/or Ashuna you also scoop?
>if X gets negated then you can do Y instead
it tends to be more complicated than it seems. the guide serves as a way to cover general tips/synergies within the deck instead of every interaction. if we did that it'd have taken hours to talk about "if mo ye gets negated then you should do this line" instead because then it goes into "how to best sequence your hand" territory. of course, we did cover that to an extent with the mo ye + long + ashuna line into yazi baxia, but that's still barely scratching the surface of what you could be doing in terms of determining how you keep playing through interactions
>Also a lot of these combos rely on you have Ashuna + some other cards in your hand
yes, swordsoul is primarily a 2 card combo deck with ashuna being one of the best ones, that's why
>if you don't draw Mo Ye/Eccelsia and/or Ashuna you also scoop?
of course not. those are certainly very good cards but you can still certainly make do with cards like taia and longyuan, or circle and vessel which get you to ashuna more easily
from my experience, swordsoul hands only look "dead" if you're new to the deck. once you've gotten used to how the cards interact with each other in the deck, you'll find that the deck rarely ever bricks. I definitely recommend watching replays on youtube if you want to learn more about playing mediocre hands or utilizing god hands to their fullest potential

This deck is expensive lol. (Still cheaper than hero tho)
Swordsoul sucks against Snake Eyes
Snake Eyes destroys SwordSoul
Metaphys Swordsoul is better lol
Also all those cards I mentioned are all different attributes so more ways to summon protos the god of this deck..
i ain't reading all that
Brother has done a whole lot of yapping
Yeah that visas line doesn't even work once you use Ashuna as you are wyrm locked. And Oto-Hime (most people call it Toutou by the way) isn't terrible per se, it will just clog up hands if you open it and requires you to have a wyrm in hand to discard when longyuan already requires a discard for it's effect too. Having fringe situations where you can increase the ceiling of the end board doesn't make this deck stronger when it's all about consistency rather than explosive turn 1 set ups. Oh and circle is widely considered a great, versatile card for many reasons beyond just dodging targeted effects so yeah the card isn't even up for debate as to whether it's good or not.
congrats on the pasta
Extremely unhelpful, didn't help me at all. Half the video is just mindlessly reading the effects of a card. Makes a big show of saying VESSEL IS SO IMPORTANT, JUST LIKE CIRCULAR IN MATHMECH and yet of the 13 top swordsoul decks on master duel meta, only ONE of them uses vessel. For a card that's supposed to be an anchor, barely anyone actually uses it. The deck that used it didn't even reach Master 1.
*Doesn't bother explaining which lv10 synchro you should summon, making it useless as A GUIDE
*Just have cards flying everyone on the screen, too lazy to add visualizations for card zones to make it easier to understand
*Talks so slowly when reading card text but then as fast as possible when talking about combos, the most important part
*There's an entire combo that relies on the opponent negating Mo Ye. You also can't use any link monsters until its gone
There's a bunch of other issues too but my god, a lot of this could be solved if you didn't sound like you were explaining this over a discord call. This is a video, use that to your advantage. You copy pasted every card's effect but couldn't bother using any text or visuals for the combos? It really comes off as lazy.
why are you yapping so much
