Hala has captured Katara's true strength better than any other song writer I've heard. Zuko takes forever to overcome his trauma and become good again. When Toph is belittled by others, she curb-stomps them. Aang is so one-tracked in his commitment to his upbringing that violence is only ever impulsive, never premeditated. Sokka... Sokka never really has power and so never has to grapple with his morality in the way others do. But Katara, she experienced as much Trauma as Zuko, as many obstacles to being recognised as Toph, and had to struggle with defining her morality on her own terms. She had all the justification and means to act violently. Villainously even. But she chooses to be better, and this song captures that strength of will better than any other I've seen.
Oh man… I know Katara is a water bender but.. this song was pure fire. Absolutely phenomenal job. Great job incorporating everything she went through into this! And the scenes chosen to go with the lyrics were _perfect_. Bravo! Have a great day!!!!!

While yes, Sokka is underrated, saying that he came up with submarines is like emailing a picture to Elon Musk of a cartoon space laser, and if Elon makes a space laser based on that image, I'd say that Elon should still get the credit. Basically, Sokka didn't come up with submarines, he made a cartoon image of a fish with people inside it, and the Mechanist created a submarine based on that image.

Katara sincerely is the character who has inspired my goals, and what I want out of life. I want to help people, anyone I can, any way I can, even the smallest of ways will suffice. The people closest to me, strangers on the street, people struggling for freedom against a power greater than themselves. I want peace, love, kindness, and most of all, justice in this world. Katara was such a huge proponent of all these things, and her acts of kindness in the show really touched my soul so deeply. Some people might think it's silly that a character in a cartoon made me realize these things, but honestly, I don't care. I think it just proves how well written atla was, that it can inspire such a grand, yet also infinitesimally small idea. Help whoever you can. Make them smile. Be kind. ❤

Love this, and let's not forget... Katara bodied Azula in Bai Sing Sei, if it hadn't been for Zuko, Azula was about to have one less arm and leg. Katara was the gentle bad ass you never saw coming until she found you slipping.
I can't help but think of how the first real encounter, one on one, between Katara and Azula in the caverns beneath Ba Sing Se, Katara didn't just body Azula, but was about to rip her in half if it wasn't for Zuko. Hands down one of the more underrated members of the Gaang.

Your vocals on this were incredible as always, and it's always amazing to see how much you improve with each new song! When I was little, I found out about my grandfather surviving ww2 and then a little after that avatar came out. . . You could only imagine where my imagination went picturing the fire nation as Germany and Poland as katara’s village my grandfather went through so much as a young boy and listening to this song I could see the people of Warsaw fight back against the nazis with everything they had until America came in to save them. 😌☺️

I love how this song displays Kataras' anger. It's never aggressive or forceful, which tracks because when Katara's genuinely angry, she is silent and efficient with her rage. It shows why she's angry, more than just them killing her mother, but attacking a village that had no fighters, people who had nothing and were simply struggling to survive in their cold homelands. It shows that she can not and will not forgive the people who could be so cruel. She learned to target specific faces, the people most responsible, but she has little compassion for any of the Fire Nations soldiers. She will ensure her people stop getting burned by fighting her way out, not because she's angry or hateful, even though she can feel that way, but because she refuses to let this go on any longer. She might believe they deserve the worst she has to offer, but she won't let herself become just like them. This song did a great job of showcasing the nuance of her character without trivializing her anger or painting her as a bitter, petty person, like the fans sometimes do.
