No, that's the way a lot of us make money. We get People to buy things or do things, that they shouldn't be buying or doing. Remember, 80% of the economy is consumer spending.

I think it would be in Elon Musk's best interest to develop such a device. Electric car sales would sky rocket if consumers could reduce thier energy bills to charge thier EVs.
Just saw the ad on Yahoo news. Sometime in the future I would like to see these media outlets actually test and certify that something being sold actually works before allowing it on their platform. But then, where would they get their advertisers?
I did get tje Stop Watt. Only been a week. Have a 5k sq ft home and I was getting a pretty good shock EVERY time I touched a light switch. I noticed after day 2 that I'm no longer getting shocked. None. Not at all. As long as my bill doesn't go up, that's worth it to me.

These things do not rise your electric bill just like they do not lower your bill. Your electric bill changed due your usage increase typically from a change in the weather.
Thank you for sharing your findings. I do'n't know why others aren't more appreciative for the simple fact, you shared the truth about your experience, when you didn't have to waste anymore of your time on this issue.
While power factor correction (I-E out of phase) could save money and make especially power hungry appliances waste 'less power', it is impractical that a small plug-in device could handle that phase correction, to 'in-phase' house power and create any appreciable savings. Large power consumers use higher voltages and multi-phase power to gain efficiencies, especially in their inductive load and motor drive systems. If there was a magic power saver device, those guys would be the first to afford and use it! Sadly, there are no magic bullet power saving devices for the rest of us!
Generally speaking, if it sounds too good to be true, it’s almost certainly too good to be true. Almost bit. As an engineer , however, I was quite skeptical. Add-ons are warranties and shipping coverage. I’d say no. Send me one on a free trial.
Its sad that people get scammed by these types of products. Although it is true that Tesla sells Powerwalls which do help people save money on their energy bills, it is no where near 90%. The best estimates have it around 30% energy savings depending on where you live.
Ok, an electrical engineer here. The idea behind is true - by improving the network energy quality you WILL save on the bill. Now, when I did this commercially we used to put large scale Capacitor banks called, CCU. These are energy storage devices that would kick in when the cosF factor drops, and this happens for several reasons, but mainly due to unbalance of active and inductive loads. The factories were fined if they would not take care of this problem. Now, I have 0 experience with this device but knowing the principle I highly doubt it will help all at least due to load difference in homes. I would say stay away.
I haven't paid anything in electric cost except cost of solar panels when I put some on my house in Massachusetts essentially a solar panel system captures energy from star and converts to electricity that is used in lieu of city power which is how you save energy. Another way is to plug in a battery which is charged from solar or a beta voltaic source which might not be safe to put in your garage for example.
Just go to junk yard and get some big washers, and magnetize them really, really good. Then, put them on outside of your power meter, and it won't spin. That's how I've barely got a bill. Remember, you've got to pull it off, sometimes, or if you have a ZERO BILL, then They Gonna Come Looking for You. But, if it's just $20 or $30 bucks, they just think you don't much electricity.
And how do I know if this is a video telling the truth? What if this is a smear campaign against such devices? We know the power companies are in the business of making money from their service, and they could be using this to keep you from saving money on your power bill. Well there is a device that actually works; called LED light bulbs. Change all of your light bulbs to LED ones, and you will see a significant reduction in power use. LED lights provide comparable light to that of conventional bulbs, but use a very small percentage of the power used by conventional bulbs. My bill last month was less than $26, with the biggest power usage being my big appliances, like the refrigerator, deep freezer, and kitchen stove!
@@l.clevelandmajor9931 howdy, I see no evidence Mr. Musk is manufacturing these, so first red flag. The supposed point of these devices is to clean up the signal to noise of the power arriving at your breaker box. Having installed actual devices that balance and clean your power, this is not capable, of, well, anything. Electricity follows certain laws that cannot be broken, and this tiny device has not the mass to create balanced power. Have a great day.
So WCPO did nothing to test or check the device is troublesome. This entire story is based upon conjecture. I’m not saying the device is legitimate but the lack of investigative reporting is beyond troubling.

( retired and go no where due to gasoline cost $5.50 up to 7.00 a gallon in ca.). at least my 3/4 ton 4X4 gets a average of 16 mpg. better than 20 mpg on the freeway. but people think i am going too slow doing the speed limit or a couple above.
Your problem is the state government. The state passed a new law, last year I think, to charge home owers who lowered their electric consumption and bill. The charge is on your electric bill. Part of the charge goes to the state and the rest to the electric company that serves you.
The only way a device could possibly work like this is to tap into the 220 using appliances in your house. If you could put your AC/Heat, oven, or water heater on this it could possibly work.
