    I have a 2006 Vespa GT200 (carbureted) and love it. It has about the same performance as the Burgman 200, but SIGNIFICANTLY longer maintenance intervals, especially the hard stuff like valve adjustments every 12,000 miles. I have ridden it on the freeway at 65 mph in the right lane. I recommend against anything with tube type tires. I have been stranded numerous times by flats with tube type tires. They are far more likely to have a flat than tubeless tires, and require a tow truck for a flat tire. A flat tire on a bike with tube type tires once cost me over $1000, including towing charges, a three day stay in a motel, and having a dealer replace the tire and tube. Plus I missed 2 days work. I own a 2013 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 and a 2016 Honda Rebel 250 with tube type tires, and I will not ride them more than 50 miles from home. I have a road service plan with 100 miles of towing. My Royal Enfield has 21,000 miles on it, and it has come home on a tow truck 4 times, all because of flat tires.

    I've got a Burg 200. I'll probably keep it even if I get a RE. I know I would regret selling it if I did. The funny thing is, the Burg 200 is faster than the RE 350's in both acceleration and top speed!

    • @DirtRider22a
      @DirtRider22a  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree it’s faster and definitely better for commuting than the RE would be, if it was up to me I would keep them all lol

    Really want to like the Royal Enfield line but being 215 and 5’11” I feel enclosed setting on it. The new super meteor 650 looks great

      I’m lucky enough to not have that problem, I do agree, the new super meteor has an appeal that nothing else on the market provides in my opinion

      I like the Super Meteor 650, but it just has too much flat black on it for me. I used to have a flat black SYM HD200 scooter, it was a great scooter at a great price, and I thought I could live with the flat black. I was wrong. I sold it 6 months after I bought it new, for half what I paid for it, just because of the color (or rather lack of color) It was just a flat black blob.

    Have you found a replacement? I'm very curious about what you end up with because the things you loved about the burgman are also the things I am looking for on my first bike/scooter for commuting and my commute is about 40miles each way, 65/70MPH tops and it's mostly 2 lane roads through the pinelands

      @@renoallstate4573 I would say it should do that fine, I ran it 70mph almost 1.5hr each day committing to work all highway no issues

      @scottocchiuto3901 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So, with running at 70 mph for most of your driving, which is close to your qouted top speed of 80+, what is your experience with drive train maintenance? How often have you had to service/replace the belt or other parts of the drive train? I was just thinking that running it close to max, that the belt might have slippage issues and wear out more often.
      I have a 2019 V-Star 250 that I use for cruising country roads. I regeared it to better cruise at 60-65 and have taken it on a couple 250 mile day trips. Do you expect the Burgman 200 to work better than the V-Star under those conditions?
      Thank you in advance. Love your practical, common sense videos. Keep up the good work!

    • @DirtRider22a
      @DirtRider22a  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @scottocchiuto3901 I had it for 8600 miles and belt was still in great shape. If I had to choose from those 2 machines to go do 250 mile day trip on I would choose the Burgman

  • @volhv1973

    I love Burgmans, but they are way overpriced IMHO. For the same amount of money you can get Yamaha xmax 300cc. RE are great bikes for the price but it worth to wait their 450cc engines
