These guys are smart. What makes them smart is in applying the meaningful bits of reasoning in decision making by examining the end use case. Pig hunting, if you are just exterminating you will not engage in a traditional hunting method. You want a big reticle for maximum speed in a hectic situation but shot placement is not as critical as a White Tail at 200 yards where you might need to thread the needle between trees to get the shot. Different optic/reticle depending on the situation.
I kinda split the difference between a dot and a holo (eotech) by going with the 1x prism from Primary Arms with the ACSS reticle on my Honey Badger SD

I use a 3x prism scope and an offset rmr for close engagement on a 10.5 " 300 blackout
